***TRADE***
The 49ers have traded for Chase Young. Compensation yet to be revealed but I'm assuming nothing higher than a 3rd round pick. What do you think of this trade?

Sad Mans Show
2 weeks of misery for fans of this team. A three game losing spree that can be attributed to several factors. Let's look at the defense who could not get off the field yesterday to save their soul. Wilks has been implementing line stunts along with playing man to man on first and second downs. That's a mistake that's proven to be a disaster. This defense was built for the defensive line to play fast, hair on fire after the quarterback. Getting back to those 49ers fundamentals defensively should be the priority, and that might mean replacing Wilks if he can't get on board. I counted 15 missed tackles. Could've been more or less, but you get the point. Opposing quarterbacks have had a 144.4 passer rating when under pressure versus the 49ers the past two weeks. Conclusion: Wilks' coverage combos are a terrible match with the 23 pressures the 49ers front was able to generate against, Burrows yesterday. Bosa leading the way with 9, who I'd add played 100 percent of the snaps for the first time in his career.
Offensively, Brock Purdy was the only reason the 49ers didn't get blown out of that game. 22/31 365 passing yards, 1 TD/2 Int, 6 carries for 57 yards (team high). The 23 year old accounted for 422 total yards with no Deebo, Willams, run game and a case of the dropsies. In the NFL it takes complimentary football to win consistently. I posted a graph highlighting quarterback efficiency for those that couldn't wait to jump on Purdy with vigor and animosity. It looks to me like they'll continue that wait. That's not to say he's been perfect, far from it. His turnover worthy play percentage ranks 4th highest among 32. Now, couch that with ranking 3rd best of 32 in Big Time Throw percentage.
Currently, the 49ers are 1 game back of the Seahawks, who just traded for the Giants', Leonard Williams. This bye is bitter but may have come at the right time. I fully expect Shanny to make key changes, and I think they still make a trade or two. I don't think it'll be a big name but maybe along the lines of an Omenihu, under the radar type only at the nickel cb spot. They'll either trade for a true nickel or a proven outside cb like, Jaylon Johnson which will allow them to move Lenoir down. The big question for me will be, is Wilks still the DC coming out of this bye?

Gameday Week 8: Bengals vs. 49ers
Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the live blog for 49er football. The 49ers are coming off two tough losses on the road and will be looking to right the ship. The first thing they can do is establish the running game. The second thing they can do is stop the run. Do both of those things and the 49ers can get back on track. Burrow is the 3rd fastest in the NFL in getting the ball out thereby mitigating his porous OL. To help facilitate getting the ball out so fast the Bengals are moving Chase all over the field, although they still favor 11 personnel primarily. The 49ers have blitzed on 14 snaps when in zone coverage and 60 snaps when in man to man. They'll need to be careful doing that against Chase. This Bengals team is a favorable matchup but they will present a significant challenge if the 49ers defense plays like they did the last 2 weeks. Go Niners!

It's Almost The Deadline
Don't miss the deadline, darling. When all your bad dreams will come true. All Hallows Eve is looming and Lynch should be working the phones in an attempt to keep up with the Eagles arms race. Where could the 49ers use help? First thought that comes to mind would be at outside cb. Ward is a nice number 2 and Lenoir is looking like another number 2. Getting a number 1 cb to pair with Ward and moving Lenoir to the slot would be an ideal two in one move. Patrick Surtain would make too much sense.
The next position I would want is a speed rusher. Montez Sweat could probably be had for a 2 and change. Brian Burns would be the big fish and also require a 1st round pick.
I know a lot of people would like a premier OT but they almost never come to market, not to mention theres value in continuity. I don't think they can upgrade with what's available. What position(s) and player(s) would you most want Lynch to target and why?

49ers vs Vikings Preview
by Undercenter
The 5-1 Forty-Niners are going into U.S. Bank Stadium to play the 2-4 Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have played some really tight games and only have a point differential of a minus six points. They lost at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17-20, they lost on the road to the Philadelphia Eagles 28-34, they lost at home to the Los Angeles Chargers 24-28 and at home to the Kansas City Chiefs 20-27. Both of their victories have come on the road against the Carolina Panthers and the Chicago Bears.
Kirk Cousins leads the NFL with 235 pass attempts with 158 completions with 9 passing touchdowns and four interceptions. Cousins has a 67.2 completion rate with a 100.6 NFL QB rating. He has twenty three passes of 20 plus yards and 3 of those have been for 40 plus yards with the long of 62 yards. His average per attempt is at 7.1 yards.
Justin Jefferson a premier WR and Cousins favorite target has been placed on the IR, that is really going to make it tough sledding for the reeling Vikings. Hard to replace a weapon such as Jefferson, I expect the Vikings to play a lot of two tight sets.
Alexander Mattison leads the Vikings rushing attack with 320 yards with 82 attempts with zero touchdowns and not a single run over 20 yards.
On paper it seems that the only advantage the Vikings have over the Niners is the fact they are playing at home where they have lost all three of their home games. I expect Cousins to come out throwing and throwing all game long. Niners should win this game on Monday night football but you never know as witnessed last week against the Browns.

Gameday Week 6: 49ers vs. Browns
Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the live blog for 49ers gameday action. Today the 49ers visit the dog pound on a crisp fall day. No rain is expected until 5pm est which bodes well for San Francisco. Temperatures in the 50's and it looks to be somewhat windy. The Browns will be without their stud rb and starting qb. The Browns DC Schwartz has gotten the best out of his matchups with Shanny so this game will be no cake walk for the offense, but I'm anticipating Schwartz's defense to wear down by the end of the 3rd quarter from all the 3 and outs by the Browns offense. 31-13 Niners, let's go!

Gamenight Week 5: Cowboys vs. 49ers
Good evening and welcome to the 49ers live blog. Tonight will be the 49ers biggest test this year. Dallas comes into town with a bad taste in their mouths after last years playoff loss. This game looms large in their minds. The Cowboys defense is too fast for outside zone runs and so expect a lot of power gap/inside zone. The key to this game will be which team can cash in TD's for redzones. My guess is Shanny will have a run heavy gameplan. I don't think this game will be as close as last year. 34-20 49ers. Go Niners!

Gameday Week 4: Cardinals vs. 49ers
Good afternoon, everyone and welcome to the live blog for a big divisional matchup. The Cardinals come into this game with nothing to lose, and a physical running game with Conners, and a quarterback that isn't afraid to run. The 49ers need to stop Conners and not allow him to get north and south, and force Dobbs to make plays with his arm and legs. Defensive line will need to be disciplined and not rush past the quarterback. Their wide receivers are good too, Wilson and the speedy Moore. I don't think the 49ers look past this team and handle their business, 31-17 and head into next week 4-0 against the Cowboys. Go Niners!
