Taken By Force
Many reasons why the 49ers are on the low end of forcing turnovers, but what is the number one reason in your opinion?

I'm looking forward to hearing how Kurtis Rourke looks today. I have been a huge fan of his since his senior year at Ind. If he looks good enough it might give the 49ers the flexibility to trade Mac Jones if a playoff level team loses their QB before the trade deadline.
ReplyDeleteThe Minnesota Vikings have signed former 49ers WR Jauan Jennings to a one-year, $8 million deal that could be worth up to $13 million in incentives.
ReplyDeleteHis reported contract with the Vikings is worth less in average annual value than the one NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco reported the 49ers previously offered.
Jennings over-bid himself and lost. To bad, I liked JJ a lot as a 49er. No one could question his heart and passion for the game.
ReplyDeleteStribling looking good with the hip sink and acceleration.
DeleteKreug said Stribling looked a little slow coming off the LOS. Lombardi said Stribling looked good. I say, TC will be the true definitive test. Especially, when the hitting starts.
DeleteDidn't look slow at all to me. 1.53 10-yard split.
DeleteI can't remember who it was I was listening too, but they said something that has always stuck with me - the only thing you can learn at these minicamps is which guys just don't belong.
DeleteWhat he was basically saying was if a guy looks terrible at these camps you can write them off, but aside from that, they don't mean anything from the point of view of identifying who will be good.
I remember they also referenced AJ Jenkins and Cam Latu as examples of guys that you just knew right away weren't up to it.
DeleteGood news is, none of the reports I have listened to or read seem to suggest any of the draft picks stood out in a notably bad way.
Scooter,
DeleteDeiter and Hutch said that as well if it wasn't them... and mentioned Latu and Lance.
They also said the wr drills basically gave you nothing of note.half speed reps against air, basically working on their steps.
Hmmm, I think it was someone else I heard it from - from a couple of years ago. Might have been Barrows. But yeah, it's probably a common belief.
DeleteThe NFL will announce the 2026 schedule on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteMichigan’s TJ Guy among the players at 49ers rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
ReplyDeleteNick Wagoneer with a few quick thoughts and notes:
ReplyDelete- Niners were cautious with their drafted rookies in terms of participation. Most notably it was limited action for WR De'Zhaun Stribling and RB Kaelan Black in 7 on 7.
- Throughout most of the practice, Stribling could be seen taking mental reps behind the play. He'd stand on the edge of the huddle, listen to the play call, memorize what his position and route would be then shadow whoever was playing the position. When the play started, he'd stay still about 5 yards behind the line but point out which direction the player running the route was supposed to go.
- Niners DE Mykel Williams, who is recovering from a torn ACL, was seen on the side doing a lengthy workout as his rehab continues. Appears to be moving well this closely removed from his injury.
- QB Kurtis Rourke shared reps with tryout QB Preston Stone. Rourke appeared to be throwing it well now that he's another year removed from knee injury that kept him sidelined for most of last year. Rourke is wearing No. 14, as is punter Jack Bouwmeester.
Updated cap room after the 6 draft picks being signed is $69,190,324, doesn't include the 7 UDFAs or Romello Height & Gracen Halton.
ReplyDeleteIf Aiyuk gets fined, as he doesn't count against the 90-man roster right now, but does against the cap, he'll end up forfeiting the $100K workout bonus, that'll come in 2027 as a credit. Releasing BA saves high of $6.5M, low of $1.5M, low is if the option bonus counts. If it does count, then they'll get that prorated portion back in 2027 as a credit. They can free up over $81.5M from redoing Bosa, Brock, CMC, Lenoir, Osa & Warner's deals. I'd definitely expect Bosa to get redone since he's got a $54M hit incoming.
Nice to hear that Romello Height is turning heads with his first step.
ReplyDeleteDLine should be massively improved this year.
49ers top 2026 cap hits:
ReplyDeleteBrock Purdy — $23.7M
Nick Bosa — $23.0M
Trent Williams — $20.0M
Fred Warner — $17.9M
George Kittle — $16.1M
Brandon Aiyuk — $15.4M
Christian McCaffrey — $10.9M
Deommodore Lenoir — $8.9M
