The 49ers are opting NOT to exercise the $10 million option bonus in Trent Williams’ contract, per Schefter. Updated cap room, $28.9M after the 49ers declined Trent Williams' option bonus, before knowing Kirk & Waitman's terms, still expect a deal to get done with TW.
ReplyDeleteOh well, so much for the artificial deadline. Nothing to be any more concerned about today than yesterday, but sure wish they'd just get it sorted.
ReplyDeleteIf the 49ers are intent on keeping Trent, why wait until April before the draft? Will some current players be cut to make more room to satisfy TWs asking price? Just show a good sign of faith by working out a mutual agreement by taking care of him a.s.a.p.
ReplyDeleteThey're likely working on a new deal right now. As long as they're confident that he'll show up for training camp, there's no reason to not do a deal.
