Round & Round

  1. Logan Brown, OT, | Kansas is going to be a day 3 theft for the team that wants a swing OT who could start in 2026.

  2. Thoughts on Cooper Mays, Center, Tennessee?

    1. Cooper Mays, C | Tennessee, looks like an UDFA IOL that fits a zone blocking system. He'll likely need 1 - 2 years on the PS working with NFL coaching and time in the weight room,
before he'll be ready to earn playing time.

Drew Kendal, C Boston College, is another UDFA that's similar
to Mays, but a little bigger and may be a little quicker?

  3. Interesting picture board aboard. I see a two-edge sword here. On the one hand, it's a bad indictment on the raiders that as a team that has had high picks over the years they have so many whiff. Shanahan on the hand, has had established starters for years that make it quite the challenge for rookies and 2nd year players harder to crack.

  4. 49ers have tendered the following:

    49ers ERFA's:

    - DE Alex Barrett
    - LB Jalen Graham
    - DE Sam Okuayinonu
    - TE Jake Tonges
    - DL Evan Anderson
    - OL Austen Pleasants
    - TE Mason Pline

  5. The 49ers have recently met with:

    DT CJ West, Indiana

    1. CJ! One of my favourite day 3 prospects.

    2. They also met with Chris Paul Jr at the Shrine Game, who I would absolutely love the 49ers to draft day 2.

I've not bothered watching Campbell as I assume he'll be a 1st or early 2nd rounder, but of the guys I've watched, Paul is my favourite LB in this draft.

  6. Robert McDaniel, S, Jackson State (HBCU Combine):

    • HT: 6023
    • WT: 213
    • VJ: 38.5"
    • BJ: 10'8"
    • 40: 4.55
    • Bench: 14 reps

The highest rated prospect at the event. 55 tackles, 10.0 TFLs, 4.5 sacks, 3 INTs this season.

  7. Jaxson Dart reportedly "won't make it past" the first seven picks of the draft according to one NFL scout.

"There's just too many QB needy teams. To be honest he has the potential to be the best NFL QB in this class."

The Giants, Jets, and Raiders all reportedly have a "serious interest" in taking Dart early on.

Dart has turned the heads of many scouts already with his impressive frame and elite accuracy.

After all, Dart was PFF's highest graded passer (91.9) this past season, which was better than any passing grade Caleb Willimas EVER received for a season while in college 😳

This to me sounds like a scout giving reporters something to throw against the wall to see the reaction once it goes public.

    1. Yeah, sounds like a sound bite to me. In other years that may be the case, but this year I actually question how many teams will really feel pressured into reaching for a QB in round 1.

I think Giants will, but I can see most other teams in the top 10 passing on QBs with the idea of being willing to wait to round 2/3, or even move up to late round 1.

Titans, Raiders and Jets all need a QB, but also all have a new GM/ HC combo. They'll be given a bit of a grace period in fixing the team, so I can only see them taking a QB that high if they really believe they are a franchise calibre player.

  8. Jaxson Dart in the top 10 draft picks sounds like a great idea to me. The more teams draft a QB in the top 10, the better odds the 9ers have of DT Graham being available at draft pick #11.

    1. GEEP,
I feel the same way. But if he's gone, I believe that Nolen will definitely be there at 11 unless Trader John has a wild card up his sleeve.

  9. As to the above chart, Does anyone know how many years data was used? Did who ever made this chart do one for other rounds?

    1. Since 2014 excluding 2024. No other rounds available to my knowledge.

    2. I find that hard to believe razor... The Bears have 91% of their 1st and 2nd round picks since 2014 that are currently starters?

I find the graph very confusing/ unclear as to what it is actually presenting.

    3. Haha, my bad. That was from pro bowlers graph. This one based on the last 5 drafts.

  10. There is reportedly a belief among NFL scouts that between 12-15 RB’s could be selected between rounds 1-3.

  11. Thor Griffith is the most underrated DL in the 2025 Draft:

    📌 88.4 run defense grade (1st)
    📌 12.5% pass rush win rate (4th)

Hard to move him. Plays 2i and 3-tech. Havard educated. I'm think he could go anywhere between rounds 4-6.

  12. McCord is generating a lot of first round buzz, with one NFL scout reportedly believing McCord “looks a lot like” Eli Manning.

McCord on deep throws (20+ yards) this season: 41 competitions (1st in CFB)

McCord on intermediate throws (10-19 yards): 71 completions (2nd in CFB)

McCord on short throws (0-9 yards): 210 completions (1st in CFB)

Not to mention he might be the SMARTEST QB in this year’s class scoring a 99 on the S2 (highest score recorded).

And he’s able to throw a football in the 95+ percentile of NFL QB’s (spiral efficiency, spin rate, velocity).

    1. I'm not sure that smartest is the correct analogy to the S2. There are many types of intelligence. The S2 measures how quickly one reacts to information and visual stimuli. Having said that, I think this might be the most important trait a QB can have as far as passing ability. Others who have elite physical skills can be very good overall QB's but maybe not elite passers. I'll look forward to seeing how well he does in his NFL career.

  13. David Walker, DE, Southern Arkansas, posting 37 sacks, 151 pressures, and 5 forced fumbles in the last three seasons.

Competition level and measurables (6’1, 267lbs, 31 3/4” arms) muddy his draft profile, but good players play good. Day 2 talent.

    2017: 7
    2018: 4
    2019: 2
    2020: 6
    2021: 3
    2022: 5
    2023: 6
    2024: 4
    2025: 12

  15. Derrick Harmon 6’5/310lbs:

    *Among NCAA DTs in 2024*
    ➖ 55 Pressures (#1)
    ➖ 17.6% Pass-Rush Win (#4) *snap min

    Twitchy, active, athletic.

    1. I am curious about Pressures vs Pressure rate, for him... I'm guessing its still very high but Oregon, was in enough blowouts to inflate these numbers slightly.

  16. Sheesh, just realised Simeon Barrow Jr didn't get invited to the combine. That surprises me. Would be a nice late round addition.

  17. Que Robinson (6-5, 241), Edge, Alabama should be a day 3 target.

  18. Mykel Williams is reportedly rated as a "Top-5" overall prospect on over half of NFL team's boards as of now according to an NFL scout.

Williams could reportedly "easily" make the draft day jump into the first five picks, just as Travon Walker did.

Williams has absolutely BULLIED some of football's top OT's including Paris Johnson (Ohio State) and Kelvin Banks Jr. (Texas), with some scouts even comparing him to Chandler Jones.

Across three seasons at Georgia, Williams recorded 85 pressures, 17 sacks, 57 QB hurries, and 46 stops.

At 6'5", 265 pounds, The Bulldogs edge rusher is a complete FREAK of a prospect 😳

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mykel Williams definitely has the "I'm Him" talent. But, would you grab him at 11 if Graham was still on the board? I'm leaning at Mason and grabbing an Edge in the 2nd rd.

    1. For mine, Williams is another in a line of boom or bust players. Hard for me to be on board for a player like that so high given the odds are already 50/50 on a clean prospect.
