Most of the QB pressures came off of blitzes. I don't think I have ever seen a team blitz that much in a preseason game.
ReplyDeleteLombarti said that there is somewhat of an unwritten rule for the defense not to blitz in preseason. But I can definitely understand how the defense can be hungry to feed off QBs since they can't lay any QB hits in practice. The Oline did a good job and Punni looks like he will garner much playing time during the season. On one play Mustapha gave me a Jack Tatum vibe.

Ronnie was the best all-around player. Tatum was just a mid field assassin. I'm dating myself, but over 50 yrs ago the college all-stars would play against an NFL team. I still remember Tatum blowing up All-Pro TE John Mackey along the sideline. The closet hit I can compare it to is the one Kam Chancellor put on Vernon Davis along the sideline. Anyway, I believe that this was last college all-star against an NFL team game ever played, lol.
