  1. Mason pushing for some playing time...

    1. I've seen enough. Next up, Cody Shredder. One thing Mason needs to work on is pass pro. He can't miss those and let a free hit on the qb.

  2. I said it before and I'll say it again, Schneider should be on the hot seat.

  3. Boy this is one crappy preseason game

  4. Both QBs looked pretty good. If Tay Martin doesn't make the 53 he will be on some teams roster.

  5. Ambry Thomas has a broken fore arm. I wish no man ill will but I don't see this as a big loss for the 49ers.

  6. 0 pressures given up by Dominick Puni, Nick Zakelj and Colton McKivitz.

    1. Good deal. I think Puni is going to win the job. Zakelj, I am hoping he wins the job at center.

  7. Coaches getting flagged for interference, that shouldn't happen regardless if its pre season or not. No excuses for that.

  8. 6th round pick Jarrett Kingston had a clean sheet against the Titans:

    • 21 pass-blocking opportunities
    • 0 pressures
    • 0 sacks
    • 85.4 pass-block grade: 2nd highest grade on the team (per PFF)

  9. Most of the QB pressures came off of blitzes. I don't think I have ever seen a team blitz that much in a preseason game.

    1. Lombarti said that there is somewhat of an unwritten rule for the defense not to blitz in preseason. But I can definitely understand how the defense can be hungry to feed off QBs since they can't lay any QB hits in practice. The Oline did a good job and Punni looks like he will garner much playing time during the season. On one play Mustapha gave me a Jack Tatum vibe.

    2. AES,
      I was thinking Ronnie Lott

    3. Ronnie was the best all-around player. Tatum was just a mid field assassin. I'm dating myself, but over 50 yrs ago the college all-stars would play against an NFL team. I still remember Tatum blowing up All-Pro TE John Mackey along the sideline. The closet hit I can compare it to is the one Kam Chancellor put on Vernon Davis along the sideline. Anyway, I believe that this was last college all-star against an NFL team game ever played, lol.

  10. The San Francisco 49ers have canceled their upcoming joint practices with the New Orleans Saints due to the mounting number of injuries.

  11. OT Amarius Mims sustained a strained pec and will miss several week, according to Zac Taylor.

  12. That's unfortunate for Mims. He's a player I proped for the 49ers pre draft.

Razor, how do you feel about the new meeting between the FO and Aiyuk this week? I'm hoping for a resolution by the next few days.

    1. I think the 49ers should ignore Aiyuk and wait for him to show up and play ball.

  13. Didn't the 49ers just hire a new training staff that was supposed to limit soft tissue injuries?

Gameday Week 2: 49ers vs Vikings

Despite Flores' intent to take away the run with 6 man fronts and blitzes, I'm expecting another run heavy game plan with Mason go...
