The stench of the last game is still in my nostrils. Will the 49ers clear the air? Not if they don't start making tackles. Not if they...

The #Vikings are waiving edge rusher Andre Carter II, source says. Former Army Black Knight had two sacks, one a strip sack, in the preseason finale against the #Eagles.
ReplyDeleteNice find, Razor. Maybe they'll try to pick him up. Here's some stuff from Lance Zierlein when Carter came out that discusses what he might be like in Year 3, which would be 2025. If they thought he was a fit, though, I assume they would have traded for him.
DeleteOverview
Long and rangy, Carter is currently best suited as a 3-4 rush linebacker on passing downs, but is likely to develop into an every-down player with additional growth both physically and technically. Carter needs to play with more skilled hands and inject a little more glass into his on-field diet in order to meet force with force when the run game comes downhill at him. His explosive get-off and natural bend/agility at the top of the rush are enough to create early opportunities for himself as a quarterback hunter. Carter might need a longer runway to meet his potential, but if does his pass-rush homework, he could take a substantial leap forward as an odd or even front edge rusher by Year 3.

“You won’t even recognize him in three years with how much his body will change when he’s on an NFL team. He’s going to be a lot thicker and stronger than what you see on tape right now.” -- Scouting director for AFC team

The #Jaguars have released veteran safety Adrian Amos.
ReplyDeleteThe Boy's have released DE Carl Lawson who been working himself back injury. He could be worth a look.

Jalen Graham the odd man out in the LB room. Looks like Bethune might stick.
ReplyDeleteSome tough cuts in there. Also hearing Eli Mitchell is going on season ending IR.
ReplyDeleteSurprised to see Tonges be the last man standing behind Kittle. Thought it would be Sauber's. Though could be a wink-nod deal involved there, as they'll free up some roster space when they put a couple of guys like Feliciano and Thomas on IR.
Yep
DeleteGood call on Conley, Scooter! He deserved a roster spot.
ReplyDeleteSurprised that Sam Okuayinonu made the roster. Hope we get Anderson on the PS.
ReplyDeleteBethune over Graham is fascinating. I remember Scott McCloughan was high on him. Must be Graham's over aggressiveness in practice..... hope he clears the waivers.
Great to see Ronnie Bell make it. Guy was electric at Training camp. Hope that translates to actual games. Patrick Taylor over Elijah Mitchell is fascinating too. Both missed bulk of TC. Does this mean we keep Elijah Mitchell for another year or injury settlement incoming?
I'm convinced Ambry Thomas has incriminating evidence against KS. Dontae Johnson vibes from him. Good on ya Ambry!
What would it take for the 49ers to bring in the Jets unhappy Hassan Riddick?
