  1. I reckon they won't risk losing Conley and he is clearly above Gray on the depth chart given he started. And I think Chosen might end up on the PS.

Also think Ya-Sin and Womack are guy they'd like to keep, at least on the PS. But would probably lose them, which I guess is what you've assumed would happen here. Same with Bethune.

Don't forget Ambry on IR too.

    1. Didn't they risk Conley last year and then just drafted two wr's? I don't see a team picking him up. I think a team would snatch up Gray. Ya-Sin was sitting around for any team to sign wasn't he? Not sure they'd care about losing Womack and they can bring Thomas back.

    2. Conley wasn't getting reps with the 1s last year though. I think he's on the 53 this year.

And Ya-Sin has looked good. He'll get snapped up by somebody.

  2. The vested vet rule should apply to Conley again. I don't think he'd sign anywhere but here and he knows how this works.

The 9ers also have 4 protected spots on the ps.
Players you see the 9ers using them on?

  3. The right move would be to do a wink-wink deal with DFF (similar to Conley last year) and elevate him on gameday, while keeping Bethune on the roster.

I also feel Huf might start on PUP, giving him another month to fully recover.

Instead of McGill on the PS, they might keep one of the corners. Womack preferably.

  4. I see them trading for a DE and putting Beal on the PS. I don't see them keeping 3 QBs on the 53 and I don't see anyone scooping Allen so I see him on the PS. If Bethune or Womack clear waivers I see them on the PS. I also see them keeping Anderson and or S. Brown on the PS

  5. With all of the injuries, hold ins and hold outs I am not feeling too confident about the Jets game. Anyone else see them trading for one or two DEs? There has to be at least a couple of young DEs who are on the bubble. A couple of 7th round picks should get a couple of depth pieces.

  6. Depending on how long Floyd and Matos may be out, perhaps Alex Barrett could hold-the-line until they are ready to come back.
Also, I believe that an official medical report might come out sometime on Sunday.

Floyds knee doesn't appear to be hurt that bad and with two week before the Jets game, (9/9/24), he should be able to play...As AES points out, we should get a medical report by Monday, 26th.

    2. Even if both players will be available by week 2 I think they need depth pieces. Lynch in the past has traded players right before the cut down date. He has also traded for depth players around this time also.

  7. I do believe that Conley makes the 53

  8. "It sounds like Floyd should be ready to suit up on Sept. 9 for the season opener. However, Gross-Matos’ status is less certain. Shanahan said the team doesn’t anticipate needing to put him on IR, and that there’s some hope he’ll be able to practice in the week leading up to the opener." Shanny

  9. Sounds like Pearsall will be a full participant at practice this week. I still see them trading for another DE even with the good news on Floyd and Gross-Matos

    1. Problem is, who is going to be available? I haven't really been paying attention around the league - is there a semi-decent option out there likely to be made available at a reasonable price?

    2. Could dangle a 5th to the Raiders for Wilson and/or watch for the Saints to release Foskey.

    3. Why would the Saints release Foskey? He's only entering his second year.

Foskey is #3 RDE behind Granderson and Chase Young. Also, NO has LDE Jordan, Turner, Peterson, and Kpassagnon on PUP.
They can't all make the 53, so the 9ers could trade a late round
      draft pick for Foskey?

Not sure how well Raider DE Wilson fits 9ers wide 9 scheme?
Schematically, Wilson's best fit is as a 5T- to 4i-technique in even or odd fronts. He's strong enough to slide inside to a 3-tech.
Also, he played OLB at Texas Tech. He'll have a learning
      curve at DE.

    6. KS said Pearsall's shoulder issue is a "subluxed" shoulder, which occurs when the ball of the shoulder joint moves partially (but not completely), out of the socket. This is the 2nd time he's injured the shoulder in training camp, plus he also injured the shoulder in college. Once you've subluxed your shoulder, it's more likely to happen again.

      * A subluxed shoulder injury can damage the following structures:
Ligaments, tendons, and muscles: These structures are designed to keep the humerus from dislocating, but can be stretched, torn, or detached from the bone during a subluxation.
Cartilage (labrum): This cartilage can be stretched or torn when the humeral head is pulled away from the glenoid cavity.
Blood vessels and nerves: These can also be damaged during a subluxation.
*Out of caution, I'll be surprised if the 9ers play Pearsall against the Jets and possibly the Vikings.

  10. Maybe a rookie that a team is going to try and sneak onto the PS. The 49ers being #31 on the waiver claim order may be willing to give up a 6th or 7th.

  11. CeeDee's extension makes it very difficult to sign Aiyuk. Intresting next few days.

Best outcome for us would be Aiyuk willing to play on $14M or a mid-season trade to another play off contender.

  12. I wonder if Niners might be willing to trade Allen or Dobbs and make Tanner Mordicai #3 who has looked good in brief appearances. Might be worth the gamble.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm betting they will keep Allen and Dobbs on the 53 and try to slide Mordicai onto the PS

  14. Pearsall will be active against the Jets.

  15. Titans LB Chance Campbell tore his ACL and is out for the year, per HC Brian Callahan. Time to trade one of our LB's to Tennessee?

  16. The #Browns are releasing DT Siaki Ika, their 3rd-round pick from just a year ago

  17. Dang, I was touting this guy as a wishful 49ers draft pick last year.

Gameday Week 2: 49ers vs Vikings

Despite Flores' intent to take away the run with 6 man fronts and blitzes, I'm expecting another run heavy game plan with Mason go...
