Good evening and welcome to the main event. Give me 10 players on the Niners Big Board if you happened to see it.
Have been getting my draft updates solely from this site. Good coverage from Razor and others. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I did listen to a couple of podcasts on the draft this week. On Ross Tucker podcast, Dane Brugler thought that the tackle draft is not very deep -- the quality falls off rapidly after the first two rounds.
On Doug Farrar's excellent X's and O's podcast with Greg Cossell, there was a good discussion on the increasing importance of guards to preserve pocket depth because of proliferation of shorter QBs and defenses moving pass rusher around the line, including use of exotic stunts.
Any chance Niners get a guard in the first three rounds?
Round 3-4 is my sweet spot if you're looking for a OG/C. Beau Limmer, Bortolini and Nourzad and Brandon Coleman who is an OT out of TCU. There's others too but those are my favorites.
DeleteAJ Brown just signed a 3 year extension with $96M in new money.
ReplyDeleteRoseman's got 100 million in 3 players on offense. LMAO!
DeleteLeFluer takes an OG Morgan from Arizona, yikes!
ReplyDeleteGraham Barton? Cooper Dejean? Tyler Guiton?
ReplyDeleteMorgan, Barton and Robinson all come off the board before the 49ers pick.
ReplyDeleteThat's some of the most expected/ mocked options for the 49ers.
Barton gone that leavesDejean and Guyton
ReplyDeleteIf the 9ers already have a 2nd round trade for Aiyuk made they may draft a WR
DeleteKC will take a WR
DeleteI think Aiyuk is gone maybe tonight. Pearsal reminds me of Aiyuk. Like Aiyuk he is a great route runner with excellent hands and speed.
DeleteMy thoughts exactly OC.
DeleteI think that Edgerrin Cooper or Nate Wiggins have a chance of D1S. Guyton is a nice get as well if either of those guys are at 31.
ReplyDeleteGuyton gone too now.
ReplyDeleteWoah... didn't see this coming. Ricky Pearsall
ReplyDeleteBit of a shocker. I like Pearsall, but thought he might have been more of a mid 2nd rd pick. Leggette would have been a nice pick as well.
ReplyDeleteFor what it is worth. Bill Belichick Is very high on Pearsall. He said he may be the most first day ready WR in the draft. He also is a great blocker. I hope they can get an early 2nd and either a 3rd or 4th for Aiyuk. An extra early 4th could be used to move up from the bottom of the 2nd or 3rd.
ReplyDeleteDavid Lombardi has a nice take on Pearsall.
DeleteI bet they trade with Wash. Wash has two 2nd round picks #s 36 and 40. They have three 3rd rounders #s 67, 78 and 100.
