Interesting to see a lot of mid round safeties and TEs on the list.
ReplyDeleteGreat job keeping track of the combine visits guys!
ReplyDeleteOnce the draft is done, this will give us a good perspective of how many of these were smokescreens and how many were actual prospects on the team's radar.
The #49ers will have interest in signing QB Baker Mayfield, per
ReplyDelete@AlbertBreer
I would rather draft Stetson Bennett in round 6 or 7 than draft Young as high as he'll end up going
ReplyDeleteRobbie Gould confirms he expects to play elsewhere next season.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise for mine. Feels like it did when they drafted Lee's replacement, and I expect they'll use a 5th rounder on Moody.
Delete49ers probably won't be the only team looking at kickers. But good news is there are a few interesting kicker prospects this year. Ryland could be a good bet as a similar kicker to Gould.
DeleteYou thinking round 5?
DeleteI was thinking more round 6. But depends on if they decide there is one kicker in particular they like and how badly they want them.
DeleteRight, we saw how bad they wanted Wishnowsky. I think the Bengels took McPherson in the 5th.
DeleteDerek Carr to the Saints.
ReplyDeleteApparently Frank Clark will be released. Have heard 49ers were interested in trading for him last year. Should they go after him this offseason?
ReplyDeleteNot a fan. I'd probably stay away. What about, Mack?
DeleteIf he comes at a reasonable price tag, for sure.
DeleteYeah... not a fan of his. I think hes a guy that will get overpaid, compared to what he will give you. He's a 6 sack a year guy at this point. I would rather pay more for Yannik or resign one of our own FA's at a cheaper rate.
ReplyDeleteI think Scooter mentioned, Ferrell. He seems likely candidate for the Kocurek revival meeting.

ReplyDeleteGreen Bay has oked the Jets meeting with AR.

ReplyDeleteNo Tommy John for Purdy:

Great news.
DeleteI would still recommend the 49ers plan as if Purdy won't be available to start the year, though. You never know whether any complications may be experienced. 6 months should be seen as the optimistic timeline.
There are some really good edge guys on the FA market now. 49ers should be following that market closely as I suspect there may be some reasonable bargains that could be had.
ReplyDeleteYea, they should be able to get a good deal in the second wave of F/A.
DeleteGeorge: In total agreement
DeleteRams release Leonard Floyd.
ReplyDeleteA lot of hate on prospect of Lamar Jackson coming here- depending upon the cost, I would welcome it as the 49ers will be, "all in" while having a loaded roster......... just not sure if they could work enough $ to bonuses to make it work.
ReplyDeleteI really can't see Lamar being the type of QB Shanahan wants. In fact, I think Lamar would drive him mad.
DeleteTrading for Lamar would cripple this franchise for years.
Delete“A lot of people see pitchers get Tommy John and they come back even better and they think it’s the surgery,” Dr. Pandya said. “Actually, it forces you to really rehab and work on mechanics that you may never have worked on in the past, and kind of resetting things.”
ReplyDeleteTherefore, Dr. Pandya said he believes in approximately six months when Purdy receives full medical clearance to resume playing football, his arm strength might be noticeably improved."
I think the main thing here is that he is young. We aren't talking about a mid-30s guy getting this type of surgery late in his career. So long as the surgery went well and the rehab goes well, he should be just fine.
DeleteGipson signs a 1 year deal.
