Preseason Game 1 Review: Packers @ 49ers

By Scooter_McG

49ers football is back! The 49ers first preseason game of 2022 is now in the books, with the 49ers coming away with the victory 28-21 (for whatever a win in preseason is worth).

Of course, all eyes were on Trey Lance in this one as he takes over the starting QB job in 2022.  Lance played the 49ers first two drives, leading the team to a FG in their first drive and a quick-fire TD in the second drive. On the first drive Lance looked fairly comfortable and decisive, but two of his three throws on the drive were off target (albeit one of the errant throws was still caught by Dwelley) with the last one to Gray on an out route also being a little late. But he showed good pocket awareness throughout the drive and smartly tucked the ball under quick pressure from the outside to set up a 3rd and 1 on the second play of the drive.

The second drive was by far the more memorable. After a sack courtesy of a big whiff in protection by Skule, followed by a quick hitter to Sermon for a short gain, Lance ripped off a perfect pass down the left sideline that travelled more than 40 yards through the air to hit Danny Gray perfectly in stride for a 76 yard TD. All in all Lance would finish the day 4-5 for 92 yards and the TD, plus a 7 yard run, in a promising first outing.

Aside from Lance, some other key things I took away from the game were - noting I paid far closer attention to the first half than the second when the bottom of the roster guys were on the field:

  • The interior of the OL has been a big question mark throughout the offseason. But the starting combination of Banks, Brendel and Burford did a decent job keeping Lance clean and providing some space up the middle for the RB. It wasn't perfect, but the group definitely passed their first test. Of the backups along the interior, Jason Poe was the standout, demonstrating power to move his man and nice athleticism when asked to pull.
  • However, the OTs (with Williams not playing) had their struggles against both the pass and the run. In the first few drives any time there was pressure or a blown block in the running game, it was usually one of the OTs at fault. The good news for the 49ers is that it was mostly the backups that struggled and it should look a lot better with Williams at LT.
  • With Deebo and Aiyuk sitting out, Ray Ray McCloud and Danny Gray saw a lot of action in the first half and appeared to be in on more plays than Jauan Jennings who may be slipping down the pecking order. Both Ray Ray and Gray had a number of good plays during the half, including a TD each, though McCloud did also have a costly fumble at the end of the half that took an opportunity at a FG off the table.
  • At RB, with Mitchell and Wilson sitting, Trey Sermon got the start ahead of Ty Davis-Price. Neither player stood out, though Sermon did have some decent runs in the opening drive. His stats look a lot worse than his play warranted courtesy of a couple of plays being blown up through missed blocking assignments. The running game loosened up a bit in the second half, but that is to be expected.
  • One thing that stood out though was the team focused on running between the tackles rather than outside, and on the few occasions they did try to get outside they weren't able to do so. This has been a concern of mine and through one preseason game it remains a concern.
  • Sudfeld looked competent as the backup QB, taking what the defense gave him and generally making good reads. It wasn't anything dynamic, but he did enough to make you think if he is needed to step in for a game or two he could keep the team competitive. Purdy also looked the part but in a different way - he held the ball longer but showed nice ability to improvise and extend plays to find the open player.
  • Aside from the first drive, the 49ers defense struggled to stop the Packers offense from moving the ball in the first half. However, they did come away with a lot of turnovers.
  • For the most part the defensive line didn't generate a lot of pressure. But Drake Jackson was probably the pick of the bunch getting after Jordan Love and he made his presence felt a few times. Hopefully the shoulder injury he sustained after chasing Love down to the sideline is only minor, as he looked to have something.
  • I thought Kinlaw also looked good in his return from knee surgery. Powerful, quick and active that proved a handful for the OL on every snap.
  • All three of the 49ers starting LBs sat this one out. But Flannigan-Fowles, Burks and McCrary-Ball filled in admirably for the most part and each had opportunities to show off their athleticism.
  • With both starting CBs sitting out, it was Ambry Thomas and Ka'Dar Hollman starting with Demo Lenoir rotating in, while Dontae Johnson didn't play much until the second half. Hollman had a number of nice plays but also gave up a TD near the end of the half where he failed to locate the ball and stick with his receiver. Thomas was rarely tested but did give up one penalty for contact. The competition at CB behind Ward and Moseley is still in full swing.
  • Dennard may be the current starter at slot CB, but if Womack keeps playing like he did then it won't be long before he is the starter. He displayed sticky coverage and came away with two INTs - the first came as a result of fighting for the ball in the air and the other due to good awareness to undercut the route over the middle.
  • The likely winner in the battle between Moore and Hufanga to start at SS next to Jimmie Ward did not become any clearer, with neither player really standing out. Hufanga did have one nice hit on a running back, while Moore was easily burned for a TD when asked to to play press man against the slot WR in a cover-0 defense (a very tough ask), but overall neither player seemed to gain or lose ground in the battle.

  1. Good news on Drake Jackson! STINGER! At least that's what I am hearing. It makes sense, even though it wasn't my first thought, just because of the way he tackled QB Love, but if it is just a stinger, well then that's a good break for the 49ers, knock on wood!

  3. Nice one, Scooter.
    *Burford is a mauler
*I thought Womack would take over the slot by week 3, but he just made a case for week 1.
*Moore cannot allow a clean release off the line in cover-0 but I doubt they would ever put Hufanga in that situation to begin with.

    1. I suspect PFF are doing PFF things there. I didn't see Burford give up that many pressures.

    2. Me either. I thought Burford was bouncing guys outta the club.

    3. In the run game he had some nice blocks. In pass pro I thought he held his own. Admittedly I did see he was still in to start the second half and at that point I wasn't paying as much attention, so maybe he had a couple of bad plays towards the end of his stint, but when I was paying attention he looked good.

    4. You gotta believe Burford will improve in his pass pro over the course of the season, especially as he develops that continuity next to McGlinchey and Brendel.

    1. The Bay Area legend - Larry Kruger, believes the 49ers have an ALARMING LACK OF DEPTH AT SAFETY, and I whole-heartedly concur! Safety is a major weak link on this defense, in my opinion, and perhaps the only weak link on an otherwise extremely deep and talented roster.

And you know what they say about the weakest link!

    2. And Kyle seems to agree as he expects the 49ers to address their Safety depth this week. I am really hoping they can find a good one because I personally don't think they currently have nearly enough quality depth at either Safety position. That's a problem, and thankfully Kyle, and I am assuming JL, seem to agree. With such good chemistry with Ward, whom they go way back to high school teamates, it's simply beyond me why they didn't bring Jaquiski Tartt back at the bottom level contract he signed with the Eagles (only $1.12M) is beyond me!

This seems like a highly personal decision (SB LVI), so I am guessing Kyle made the decision shortly after the end of the season.

  8. All and all for a preseason game it was encouraging. One thing that hasn't been brought up is the fact that everyone seems to know their job which is an indicator of the quality of the coaching staff. Am a little concerned with special teams to include the depth of the kickoff.

    2. Finally! Brunskill will be relegated to where he's best suited and that's as a backup to every position along the offensive line. I thought that's where Shanny has wanted him all along but couldn't find a guy to beat him out.

    3. Hope Brendel can pick it up as I see the center position as the weakest position on the line.

  10. The main thing that surprised me in this one was that Jennings appeared to be the 5th WR on the depth chart, behind McCloud and Gray.

Part of that may just be they see Jennings as strictly a slot guy, so with the two starting outside WRs not playing it was McCloud and Gray getting the start, but it was still notable for a guy that was expected to be a key role player as the 3rd WR this season. Especially given McCloud is showing he has the position flexibility to do both, and we know Deebo does as well.

  12. Sermon appears slow, like he's feeling like a 2005 Kevan Barlow, good for 3 yards and that's about it. Not sure if it's vision or what but he always seems to end up running into a group of defenders. Maybe he's trying too hard to take the first hole and go, which is something the niners ask and to not dance in the backfield but he needs to also let the hole develop so that a lineman is picking up a lb instead of blowing thru the hole too quickly and not getting a 2nd level block

  16. 49ers training camp day 13: The session was not in pads.
    * Samuel and Ray-Ray McCloud spent most the practice lined up in the backfield.
    * Trey Lance: Went 4 for15 for the day
RED ZONE: Lance threw 2 TD's! He threw the ball away twice, one INT (Omenihu got his hand on Trey's pass that lead to an INT by Fred Warner), Ty Davis-Price and Tay Martin also dropped a pass.
TEAM PRIOD: Lance missed Brandon Aiyuk on a deep out along the right sideline. On next play, Lance found Brandon Aiyuk on a dig route for his lone completion. His last 3 attempts; a pass break up by Azeez Al-Shaair, a pass batted down at the line of scrimmage and a drop by Brandon Aiyuk.
    * Tariq Castro-Fields: The rookie RB played with starters for the first time. He dropped a pass from Lance, who put the ball right on his hands in the left flat during a red zone period, The play would have been a walk-in TD.
    * Charlie Woerner activated from the PUP list
    * Ken Crawley: The veteran signed with the 9ers last week. He worked on right side of the 9ers starting lineup.
    * Ambry Thomas and Deommodore Lenoir looks to have dropped below Castro-Fields and Crawley on the depth chart.

  19. Now that Jimmy Ward is back on the shelf again for the foreseeable future, the Safety positions are looking like an even bigger weakness (on an otherwise very strong team) than they did pre-draft! I figure now is a good time to remind Scooter_McG about our big day two, post-draft debate. I was very upset that the 49ers went RB (TDP) on day two (RND 3, #93), passing on such an obvious need at Safety, and in particular the Safety prospect out of Maryland - Nick Cross who was drafted by the Colts 3 slots later (#6). In fact at the time, I was flabbergasted and downright upset about it, not only because the 49ers used a 3rd round pick on a disappointing RB just the year before, but also because they've had so much success finding quality RB very late in the draft process or undrafted (Mitchell - 6th RND, Breida/Wilson Jr/Hasty/Mason). It ends up that everyone believes that the 49ers latest UDFA - Jordan Mason, has outperformed Tyrion Davis-Price by a significant margin, and Mason looks like the terrific compliment alongside Mitchell. This is less a dig on Davis-Price as a player/ because I do think he has developmental potential, and much more about Kyle Shanahan's only glaring weakness as a HC - once again falling in love with an offensive skill position player (RB) and as a result, over-drafting said player at the expense of filling bigger needs, like a versatile starting FS/SS like Nick Cross, who was drafted at #96 - three draft slots after TDP.

While Scooter_McG didn't dissagree about the need for a Safety, for some reason he did disagree with my evaluation, as well as the overall draft scouting consensus of SS/FS prospect Nick Cross, who in my view was one of the most talented and VERSATILE Safety prospects in the entire draft. Well, Cross has been good, and I mean really, really good! So good that he is currently RUNNING AWAY with the Colts starting SS position as a rookie!

    Here's the Colts postgame analysis:

    STUD: Safety - NICK CROSS

The rookie third-round pick got the start at safety with the first-team defense, and he had a strong debut. On the first drive of the game, the Bills targeted his area twice in the red zone. Both times they came away with nothing because of the strong coverage Cross applied to the tight ends. It was a solid start for the rookie who is likely to spend the majority of the season as the Colts starting SS.

    1. **slight correction: Tyrion Davis-Price was chosen in the 3rd round, #93 overall even though he was widely regarded as a 5th or 6th round prospect, and Nick Cross was drafted 3 slots later in the 3rd round, at #96 overall, although he was widely expected to come off the board earlier on day 2.

  20. For those few that question Shanny's value as a HC; consider he ranks #1 in YPA the last 2 years, while the Packers rank #2 with the league MVP quarterback both years running. Let's let that soak in....

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh, Kyle Shanahan might be the best play caller/play designer in the entire league, and he's a very good all-around HC. No question about his value. Any HC / Play Caller who can make Garoppolo look good, even though he can't even make use of 1/2 of the playing field, is genius as far as I am concerned!

But he does have an achilles heel - he's as stubborn as can be, and he's an absolute control freak. If he would just let some of this stuff go, delegate, and let his scouting department do their jobs, he and the 49ers would be better for it, IMO.

      Delete
    2. Here's NICk CROSS' Draft Wire scouting report. BTW, he has taken over the Colts Safety room, and has earned the starting nod at SS, but make mistake, Nick Cross is a natural FS. That's how versatile this guy is. This thickly-built enforcer ran an official 4.34 40 YD at the combine.

But this 6'1" 215 lbs. Safety isn't just track fast, he plays fast, and he punishes ball carriers.

DRAFT WIRE: S Nick Cross - Maryland - A speedy enforcer roaming the defensive backfield, Cross is excellent when it comes to punishing players who dare to possess a football around him. During his time at Maryland, he nabbed six interceptions and broke up 13 passes, adding three sacks during his best season last year. As a pass defender, Cross has excellent sideline-to-sideline ability that allows him to fly from the middle of the field to the outside hash, and close in on balls with too much air. He can make a play on the ball, or just rock the intended receiver after the catch. He’s able to match up with tight ends going down the seam, giving enough cushion to read the quarterback and closing quickly with excellent makeup speed. He also has the strength and physicality to man up with those same tight ends, sticking to their hips and making plays on the ball. He should excel as a tight end cover specialist in the NFL, taking away some of the league’s best pass-catchers at the position. Cross is just as impressive in run defense, recognizing the play and using his 4.3 speed to ditch his position and scream into the backfield to lay the wood. At times, when he was a little late in recognition, but his blazing speed made up for it, as he was able to cover a lot of ground quickly. He’s also a good very tackler in space, aiming for the ball carriers’ thighs and wrapping them down.

And Kyle chose to draft a RB even though Cross fell in the 49ers lap! It took me 3 years to get over my disappointment when Lynch/Shanahan passed on Jamal Adams in favor of Solomon Thomas, but this one hurts just as bad, because this team could be just a Safety away from making a Super Bowl run.

So they've released Dennard. Hockit, KeeSean Johnson, and Kaulile too.

  22. Wow. Dennard released. From starter to cut. Womack has really impressed and looks like he has won the job.

This goes to show the importance of versatility. Dennard doesn't really offer outside CB or STs value, and you can't carry a specialist backup slot CB.

    1. He was good at covering grass. I've been saying it all year. They only had 9 int's last year. Womack gets two in one game! Another 5th round gem, and a round in which Belichick has traditionally hated.

    2. I know Dennard had been penciled in to start the season as the #1 nickel cornerback, and by the way, I love what Womack brings to the table, and of course I never really bought into Dennard as a solution, other than him being a very smart veteran football player.

But here's my QUESTION for you guys: I know it's a different DB position, but am I the only one who is EXTREMELY concerned about the Safety depth on this roster? And/or, do you think Lynch needs to make a move to trade for a another Safety?

What was the FO thinking guys? Please, entertain me :)

      Delete
    3. Could this also mean Jason Verrett could be ready sooner than initially thought?

I personally think they also wanted to do Dennard a solid by releasing him now (before 53 roster cuts), so that he will have a chance to sign somewhere else.

    7. Interesting. So, who are the starting Safeties week 1?

By the way guys, can I grind one more axe when it comes to Kyle Shanahan?

Before I do, let me say this, because it needs to be said:

I have newfound respect for Kyle Shanahan, and the job that he has done for the 49ers. The fact that he held his team together last season, at a time when the wheels seemed to be falling off of both axels, has now established Kyle Shanahan as one of the top Head Coaches in the NFL. He's in my top 5, and I am as tough of a critic as you will find.

But ... can he please stop treating us like a bunch of novices who know nothing about the game of American Football?

In Friday's postgame presser, Kyle did what I was hoping he had made a thing of the past - he treated the press corps, and everyone who was watching the postgame pressor, like a bunch of boneheaded idiots!

Time K asked Kyle this perfectly logical question: "Might there be some routes available now, more so than last year? Not trying to rip the previous QB, but are there more routes available with Trey out there?"

Kyle: "Not really, umm, I think that was a huge 'undervalued thing' with Jimmy. Jimmy could throw the ball and throw it real far!"

It's like, come on Kyle, don't treat us like fools. Relly Kyle, you don't we can read passing charts. You don't think we can look up his stats - the fact that Jimmy had all of ONE passing attempt that traveled 30 or more yards downfield last year, FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON, INCLUDING PLAYOFFS?

I could hear an audible sigh of frustration within the press corps, and a few of the reporters began shaking their heads after this ridiculous answer from Kyle! He does need to stop with the BS. If it's something that really gives his team a competitive advantage from week to week, then fine, that's not a problem. But does he really think fans (and the press corps) are stupid, and that we don't have eyes or the ability to read charts? Does he really still think NFL people can't see the writing on the wall with Jimmy Garoppolo?

    10. By the way Scooter_McG, I won't use any names, but isn't it a problem when your highest paid player on the team disappears for a few months every offseason, only showing up when he's contractually obligated? Is there really any question why this guy never improved at his position, one iota?

Did Tom Brady ghost the Patriots and Buccaneers every offseason? Heck no! Guys like him, they are such a strong competitor that they look for every possible competitive edge during the offseason, and at a bare minimum, they keep in touch with frick'en their coaching staff, don't you think?

      UNBELIEVABLE!

  24. BTW, exciting news coming out of today's padded practice for the Niners. Trey Lance was nearly perfect, and he was completing passes at every level! Also, he and Deebo are building a chemistry, and Deebo appears to be ALL-IN as the 49ers Wide-Back!

    ReplyDelete
  25. According to multiple sources, Deebo looks a little heavier but just as explosive, and he seems very eager to line up in the backfield. This is really exciting news for fans, because there were real questions about how willing Deebo would be as a RB moving forward. Well, if what's happening in camp lately is any indication, Deebo is going to be sharing carries with Mitchell, Wilson Jr, and whoever else makes this roster at RB (TDP, Hasty, Mason).

Anyone care to take a stab at who the 49ers RB's will be to start the season (not counting FB), especially now that Deebo looks like he's willing to share the load?

Here's my RB corps for the 53:

    Mitchell
    Deebo (part time)
    Wilson Jr
TDP (lots of potential, but needs developing)
    and ....
I don't know, lol. I think it's probably Hasty because he's their most prototypical 3rd down RB, but my gut tells me Jordan Mason can be that, AND MORE, so I'm going with Mason to round out the 5 halfbacks, which is really only 4 because Deebo will officially count as a WR!

JaMycal Hasty to PS, and hopefully they can get a late round conditional pick in return for Sermon, who I personally like, I just don't think is a very good fit for this offense.

My one concern: I hate to expose Hasty to waivers, because I expect him to be claimed, and he might very well be claimed by the Rams!

    2. But yah, TREY LANCE is absolutely on fire, and this kid is blossoming like a rose bush right in front of our eyes!

Very exciting times, and oh, BTW, let me also give Kyle and John props for the way they handled this kid last year. I wasn't happy that they seemed to just completely shelf Trey, even though he absolutely dominated parts of TC last season.

But now we know that the broken finger he suffered in the final preseason game against the Raiders was a much bigger deal than we ever imagined. I do wish Kyle would have made that clear for Trey's sake, and frankly, the fan's sake, but this is actually a perfect example of the "competitive advantage" BS that I will never actually knock Kyle for, and that I actually respect.

I DO like how serious Kyle takes it when it comes to competitive advantages, he just needs to learn how to separate the two.

He's so intense when it comes to football (and emotional), I am convinced he kind of loses track of what he can say to the the public, and what he maybe shouldn't say.

He needs to work on that.

      Delete
  26. I am just completely in awe of Deebo Samuel! In all of my 40 years following the 49ers and the NFL, I have never seen an all-purpose WR/RB who is both elite as a WR, and elite as a RB.

I just don't see a way that the NFL can stop this offense if Trey Lance, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, Danny Gray, and of course Trent Williams are all on the same field, knock-on-wood!

Jimmy Garoppolo, who we do all respect for all of the good things he did for the Niners, could only attack the middle portion of the field. If you look at his passing chart, 95% of his passes went to the middle of the field, about 10-20 yards deep, and in-between the hash marks. That's NOT ENOUGH to stress a defense, guys, which is a testament to Kyle's brilliance as a OC! But that's change guys! The 49ers 2022 offense is going to give Defensive Coordinators nightmares at every turn. They are that dynamic, and that unpredictable!

    1. And the 49ers have a top 3 defense to support their dynamic offense. It's almost overwhelming!

In a less polarized world, the San Francisco Forty Niners would be Super Bowl LVII favorites, despite their tough division, yet you can get them at +$1,600.

I took the 49ers at that price, and I will double up as we approach the playoffs, just as long as they stay healthy - knock-on-wood!

Scooter, Razor, Mugeek9er, undercenter, GEEP, and even eMJay (bless his misguided soul), I sure hope all you guys are on this train because it's a pearl, and these kind of bets don't come along very often!

    1. This caught me a little bit by surprise. I thought that Kocurek and the 49ers might choose ceiling over chemistry, keeping Nkemdiche over Hyder. But the way DeMeco Ryans talked about Kerry Hyder's leadership today, they clearly but a ton of stock in team chemistry, and I personally respect that approach, and I do think it was the right decision!

    2. Besides, big CHARLES OMENIHU is the new Arden Key, and Omenihu looks absolutely ferocious as an interior pass rusher. He's set to break out in a big way this season, and he might be better than Key was last season, so you can mark that on your calendar.

This year's defensive front is absurdly talented, and equally absurdly deep! And with the exception at Safety (in my unfortunate opinion), the backend of this defense looks hugely improved over last year's as well. The jury is still out on the Special Teams unit!

    3. It was always going to be tough for him to make the roster being brought in so late. With Ridgeway back to training this week and Kinlaw showing no signs of discomfort with his knee they could afford to lose a DT.

Grant Cohn ventured today that the Niners are installing a triple-option offense with Samuel and/or McCloud in the backfield.

    1. This years offense is going to be gloriously bonkers, in a fun, and incredibly exciting way! I like to use the term - "dynamic", but that is probably selling them a little short, because their doesn't seem to be a limit on the varying ways they can attack opposing defenses!

    2. George, if memory serves this is something that was discussed on this board when they signed McCloud. With Lance at QB as well as Deebo and McCloud in the WR group they have a lot of exciting options for formations and ways to get defenses in conflict.

    3. Here we go! All of our offseason concerns are already cropping up. It's frustrating because this stuff all stuck out like a sore thumb, but was glossed over.

      - McGlinchey's health being a huge question mark.

      - Center being absolute disaster.

      - Questions at both OG spots.

      - And major depth concerns at Safety, after the 49ers inexplicably didn't bring Tartt back even though he was available for almost the league minimum.

    4. It's time for Lynch to pull off some magic like he did trading for Laken Tomlinson right before the 2017 season for a 2019 - 5th round pick. I hope he's on the horn because they need help on the OL and at Safety.

    6. That's a very good point, Razoreater, I had the same thought.

By the way, I hope you know that I'm not trying to be overly dramatic. This is an ultra-talented roster in it's entirety, and the 49ers are going to be a very good team this year! I took them top win the SB at +$1600, because I am extremely impressed with the roster that Kyle and John have built, and Trey Lance looks like the whole package. I just see a couple issues that could become big problems if they aren't properly addressed. And they are the same problems that caused us some anxiety earlier in the off-season, so that's concerning, no?

    7. By the way guys, my best source who has been right every step of the way with the DeShaun Watson situation, is telling me that the reason we haven't heard anything yet is because they are currently working on a compromise settlement. the NFL does not want to open themselves up to this lawsuit, so it's supposedly going to end up being 8 games, and a total of $10M - $15M in fines.

We'll see if my source continues to be as reliable as the sun.

  37. Is this the Niners best draft from the Lynch/Shanny regime. Gray, Womack, Jackson, Burford, Price, all could play important roles. Zakelj has nastiness (I like) and Purdy should make the practice squad. Poe and Mason - who knows.

In terms of how many will be "difference makers," it's looking that way. Good call. So far, I expected more from Price and think Mason might eventually supplant him. He's got "it," imo. Same with Poe.

  39. Well, the 49ers have concluded their joint two-day practice with the Vikings. Lot's of good stuff, and a few familiar issues to iron out.

For the most part, Trey continues to impress, but he still continues to completely misfire on a couple passes per session, and today was no exception. I don't know if it's strictly an arm slot issue as I have suspected (although I do think his throwing motion is much improved this year), but I am extremely impressed with where he is at this stage of development. That said, I am also 100% certain that Kyle's offense this season will be the most run-centric offense of Kyle's 49ers tenure, and I wouldn't be surprised if they carry an extra RB on the roster. A quick note: Ty Davis-Price stood out VS the Vikings, especially today. He's a violent, and explosive runner!

The only issues are OL and Safety. I know I sound like a broken record, but it was the same issue today. The 49ers Safeties (other than Ward who is injured) cannot cover, and that's a problem. Also, the OL (outside of Williams) is not very good in pass protection. They weren't very good VS the Minnesota these past 2 days, and I'm not sure how they can get it fixed anytime soon.
