Innovative Red Zone Formation

This is incredible! They got the wide receiver at running back, the tight end at full back, the full back at wide receiver, a wide receiver in a three point stance, and the running back at wide receiver. If the highest graded quarterback at 85.7 since week 8 throws a catchable ball to a wide open Wilson, it would have worked!

Unsung hero of the week,

Jauan Jennings. Kept his composure after getting slapped in the face by an incomposed Jaguar to earn the team a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty after failing to convert on 3rd down. Recovered a fumble by Wilson when surrounded by 3 Jaguars. Made some key blocks on a couple scoring drives. This dude seems like an alpha dog bringing more bite than bark to the offense.

Pleasant surprise is Arden Key who has 3 sacks and 6 quarterback hits in just 219 snaps.

I think this weeks matchup versus the Vikings comes down to one thing. Eliminate the Vikings dependence on explosive plays downfield, and the 49ers win the football game. I hope Ryans continues to move Bosa around as well.

  1. Was for put on 3 game IR or season ending?

Even if he can only go 3rd downs, Ford brings so much more to the pass rush than anyone other than Bosa has been able to. Really hope somehow he comes back this season.

    1. Not certain but I don't believe it was season ending.

  2. Niners control their own destiny, two weeks ago they couldn't control a flea on a flicker.

    1. Zimmer will come out in a 6 man front, and as long as the 49ers do not cough up the football; Jimmy G will spread the buckshot around the field.

    2. Yep, Vikings will come out aiming to stop the run and daring the 49ers to pass. But the 49ers can't take the bait and abandon the run - that plays into the Vikings hands. Need to still stay somewhat committed to running the ball to hold the pass rush. That Vikings pass rush is no joke.

    3. Yup got to run the ball even when it isn't working well. Probably too much to ask but I sure as heck would love to see another 10+ minute opening drive.

Raiders loss, 9ers gain! The 9ers need to resign him!

    1. Another Key: Jimmy G! He needs to have a big game because I fully expect Zimmer to put it in his hands.

The 9ers need to take away Vikings WR Justin Jefferson control WR Thielen and force RB Davin Cook to beat them.
Question: How do you think DeMeco Ryans will set the
      9er DB's defense against them?

    3. I'd guess the defensive game plan to be similar to the one used against the Rams.

  4. WEEK 12 9ER 2021 PLAYOFF PICTURE:
    #8 SF 49ers (5-5) play the #7 Viking (5-5) this Sun Nov 28
#6 Saints (5-5) play the Bills 6-4) this Thur Nov 25
Should the 9ers beat the Vikings and Saints lose to the Bills, the 9ers will move up to the #6 position!

    1. Shanny will need a game plan that protects the RT position. Hopefully he keeps delivering the offensive goods more by land than by air.

Who does Ryan start at RT, Tom Compton or Jaylon Moore?

    3. More land is definitely better than air against Zimmer. Lol!

Jimmy G has 4 INTs and 2 TDs in 2 games with Zimmer. This time around Vikings Defense has the most number of sacks.

TBH, Jimmy has been great in the past 4 games and is due an Interception or two. So yeah...land better than air!

    4. Probably same plan as last game. Rotate them but either way he's gotta protect that side by getting the ball out quickly from shotgun and continuing to use innovative blocking schemes in the running game.

    5. Will be interesting to see how Zimmerman uses LDE DJ Wonnum. Keep him at DE or let him blitz as a LB

The Vikings can't escape their COVID issues. They've placed DT Dalvin Tomlinson on the Reserve/COVID list.

Our running game just got a huge boost!

  6. Jauan Jennings came up big in this game. Takes incredible self-control not to retaliate when someone throws a punch at you. Henceforth, he shall be known as the Smiling Assassin. :)

Would be a good depth piece if he can stay healthy and put together a complete season, now that Sanu is on IR. Shanahan seemed impressed with his play as well.

Arden Key is putting together a nice season. Props to Demeco for rushing Key from the middle instead of the edge. D-line trying to be "positionless" as well.

Should be a cracker of a game! May the best team win.

    2. Well, the Chiefs signed Gordon so I suppose the 49ers didn't want to be outdone. Lmao!

  8. I am still concerned with the Niners defense. Due to the fact of being on the field for only 20 minutes in each of the last two games somewhat mask their deficiencies. I guess for me I am still wondering which team is going to show up against the Vikes.

Jauan Jennings' 88.8 run blocking grade yesterday was the highest given to a #49ers wide receiver since Week 5 of the 2019 season (Deebo).
