We Lost Three

Justin Hilliard was picked up by the Giants.

Nsimba Webster was picked up by the Bears.

Dakoda Shepley was picked up by the Seahawks.

Practice Squad Thus Far:

Defensive lineman Alex Barrett

Wide receiver Travis Benjamin

Wide receiver River Cracraft

Defensive lineman Darrion Daniels

Offensive lineman Alfredo Gutierrez

Fullback Josh Hokit

Offensive lineman Corbin Kaufusi

Offensive lineman Senio Kelemete

Tight end Jordan Matthews

Safety Jared Mayden

Offensive lineman Colton McKivitz

Quarterback Nate Sudfeld

Linebacker Elijah Sullivan

I think Jake Brendel will round out the 53-man roster after Maurice Hurst goes on IR. O-line is clearly the 49ers’ weakest position depth-wise and they’ll want to bolster the center position especially behind Alex Mack, who turns 36 this year

  1. Picking up TE Tanner Hudson for the practice squad from the Bucs is a coup...

Former Bucs tight end Tanner Hudson is signing with the 49ers’ practice squad.

  2. Weakest position on the 9ers 53 is still RG! 2nd Rd. pick Aaron Banks is hurt, but was inept when healthy, and Daniel Brunskill, the starter, is at best adequate. And If Tom
Compton is not a typo, it exposes just how weak the RG position really is. We still need to give Jalen Moore some reps at RG to see if he can do the job! If not, the 9er FO
needs to find a RG to trade for if they're serious about getting to the SB.

    1. Good catch, AES. Brendel and Johnson signed 1 year deals, with Hurst and Davonte Harris on IR.

  4. Just a musing: Wayne Gallman is still out there.

  5. I expect Arden key to push Ebukam in the rotation -- especially with Ford playing limited snaps. Kocurek is becoming the Bobby Turner of the D line -- plugging in players off the street and getting good production from them...

    1. Now if Foerster can regain some of his former coaching glory we should be strong in both trenches.
