Breaking News - 49ers Salary Cap!

By Scooter_McG

According to Field Yates the NFL has just finalised each teams cap carryover from 2020. Previous projections had the 49ers having very little cap carry over, however, the final number is $13.26M! That is huge for the 49ers - according to Over the Cap they now sit at around $23.5M under the projected cap.

Hang onto your hats folks, the 49ers just received a massive boost to their FA purchasing power.

  1. No reason they can't sign, Williams now.

    1. We've got the 10th most cap dollars to spend and the Rams have the 30th most cap dollars to spend.

    2. It just gives them so much more cap flexibility than previously thought. They can splash that extra $10M-$12M on retaining Williams, use it to avoid needing to push money to future years, or use it to add a high quality player or two at other positions (e.g. edge or centre). Or some combo of the above. It really is a massive boon - and to be fair it is one that I'm sure management knew already just wasn't known publicly.

One "REASON!" The Colts, if they want TW bad enough,
have ~$50.3 million in available salary cap space.
Don't be shocked if they offer him $22-$23 Mil P/Y
