The Freddy Punch is a great tool for dislodgeing the ball. Now, we need other D players to create turnovers.
ReplyDeleteAs the 49ers prep to play Arizona, I though about Walter Nolan III that was another draft crush from last year. So far after two games his combined stats are 3 assisted tackles, 0 solo tackle, and 1 QB hit.
Not sure if he's playing with a minor injury or if he's just off to a slow start. But, I would love to see the 49ers OL keep Nolen's numbers down.
The 49ers signed DT Naquan Jones off the Vikings practice squad to their 53 man roster, per Pelissero.
ReplyDeleteThe 49ers placed CJ West on IR and released CB Jakob Robinson from the practice squad.
ReplyDeleteAh man. Another one.
DeleteThe way he has been playing this might be addition by subtraction in the short term. Just getting a run game DT might really help this team.
DeleteNiners roster moves:
ReplyDeletePlaced on IR: DT C.J. West
Signed to 53-man roster: DT Naquan Jones
Signed to practice squad: WR Brandin Cooks, DL Viliami Fehoko Jr.
Released from PS: CB Jakob Robinson
The Mash Team is going to need a huge pay raise after this season. Dang, CJ may be out until the last few games if not the entire season. Don't know if there's any answers to help stem the injuries.
ReplyDeleteGreg Cosell says Brock Purdy epitomizes quarterback play in the NFL
ReplyDelete“I’m so tired of hearing guys have great tools because they can throw it hard and they can run around. I speak to coaches and that would be so far down the list on what coaches look at when they think about quality quarterback play.
Quarterback play, if you reduce it to its simplest level -- Brock Purdy epitomizes this, it’s throwing the ball to the right receiver at the right time with the right kind of throw. That’s what quarterback play ultimately is. The ability to throw it really hard or really far or to just randomly run around is not what quarterback play is.”
Robinson, Stribling, Height, Sam O, CJ West, A. Collins, Tonges, Pearsall, Williams and Martin. 10 potential starters only 2 weeks in. What in the hell is going on?
ReplyDeleteThese numbers are interesting. For some reason I thought the turnover differential was more in SF's favor so far.
