Need an X WR?

You're in luck because this is your year:

▫️ Carnell Tate ▫️ Denzel Boston ▫️ Chris Brazzell II ▫️ Chris Bell ▫️ Ted Hurst ▫️ Bryce Lance ▫️ Malachi Fields ▫️ Ja’Kobi Lane ▫️ Eric McAlister

  1. The 49ers are signing safety Darrick Forrest to their practice squad, per
    Cameron Wolfe.

  2. I liked Chris Bell the most of the possible pre injury. Now I'm leaning towards man beaters like Conception, Brazzell, Bernard and maybe Sarrat.

    1. Concepcion reminds me of Seattle's WR Njigba. He's fast off the LOS, quick change of pace, cutting ability, and can also get YACs. The other listed WRs are good as well, but after Chris Bell's injury, I'm leaning more towards Concepcion.

    2. We know for a fact Shanahan tried to trade up for T-Mac. Tells me he wants and values a true X.

    3. Sure, that makes sense. But, I have little doubt that KC Concepcion can become a productive game changer type WR in the NFL.

      Aside from being redundant, KC Concepcion has a problem, he drops too many passes! His 2025 season was productive, but the issue with dropping passes persisted....

    5. GEEP,
      I read about his sub-par average catch percentage. But at the same time when he does catch the ball he is viable game changing type WR. D'Marcus Robinson has also had drop issues, but we seen how productive he can be when he does catch. If Concepcion falls to the 49ers in the 2nd rd, I believe he deserves a strong look, imho.

  3. Denzel Boston has been my choice, but after beating the Eagles, he'll
    likely be gone when the 9ers are on the clock with draft pick #26.
    If the 9ers don't go D line Rd #1 (DT Kayden McDonald), then Chris Brazzell II looks like a good X WR choice?

    1. If Shanahan wants Boston he can go up and get him like he did with Aiyuk, and like he tried to do with T-Mac.

      That is true, but trading was not listed as an option.

    3. Trading up a few spots to jump over a team you heard had interest in the same player that you did should always be an option.

  4. Need Speed? Brenen Thompson, WR, Miss St., 10.18 100-meters in HS. Didn't see any CB that could stay with him in '25. 5 catches of 50+ yards led the P4 but could've had a few more with a better QB.

    1. The 2026 NFL draft has several day 3 slot WR's with speed * Brenen Thompson, WR Miss St. 5'9" X 170 40 = 4.35s
      * Zachariah Branch, WR Georgia 5'10" X 180 40 = 4.35s
      * Eric Rivers, WR Georgia Tech 5'11" X 180 40 - 4.38s
      * Aron Anderson, WR LSU 5'8" X 188 40 = 4.34s
      * Evan Stewart, WR Oregon 6'0" X 170 40 = 4.33s
      * Barion Brown, WR LSU 5'11'' X 185 40 = 4.28s
      * J Michael Strudivant, Florida 6'3" X 213 40 = 4.38s

  5. Explosive TE's:
    Kenyon Sadiq - 41.5" Vert, (11.04 100m HS)
    Eli Stowers - 11'3 Broad, 41.5" Vert

  6. I'd add Sarratt to the potential X options. For mine the two guys I think Shanahan will really like are Boston and Sarratt.

    1. Big fan of Sarratt. He'll get another opportunity to showcase his skillset Monday night.

    2. I agree with Sarratt he's not explosive but a good route runner who separates and blocks well. His 40 will likely play a big role in how high he goes

      I agree with you on Indiana WR Sarratt. I believe he's capable of play as both an X and Z WR. I have him as a mid 2nd Rd. draft pick, not a 1st Rd. draft pick.

    4. Yea, he's not explosive or fast. I'd guess 4.64. But he's a savvy route runner with strong hands that can track the ball with good body control.

  7. I know some of you had low expectations for this team but now that we're in the final 4, it's time to go all in. I'm a believer and ready to start throwing haymakers!

  8. I stand by what I said back in December. Nobody wants to play this team in the playoffs.
