Jake Brendel

CBS predicts the 49ers will sign center Tyler Linderbaum to a 4-year $72M deal. Zero percent chance that happens. It's almost comical how badly fans want to move on from Brendel. He'll be the center in 2026, and I trust Forester has a plan for life after Jake.

  1. Following on from previous discussion, I take it you think Shanahan believer Brendel is better than Linderbaum (irrespective of price/ value)?

    1. He's scouted Linderbaum. He knows he's available. Let's see what happens.

I believe Shanahan LOVES Brendel and I'm sure he likes Linderbaum. I don't see him putting a ring on it.

    2. It's an interesting conversation though. I agree Shanahan really likes Brendel, but I do think he'd be higher on Linderbaum, all things being equal. And I do think Brendel's age/ contract situation could make the 49ers interested in s guy of Linderbaum's calibre if he actually does hit FA.

    3. You think they resign Matt Hennessy? He'll be 29 this year.

    4. On a vet minimum perhaps. I think there could be some turnover at the bottom of the OL roster.

  2. Georgia State WR Ted Hurst just had the catch of the day. A nasty one-hander.

  4. Kamari Ramsey (6’0 199) USC

+ Versatility to play corner or safety
+ Great timing at the catch point
+ Rarely missed tackles this year with just a 3.2% missed tackle rate
    + Recovery speed
    + 77.1 coverage grade in 2025 and an 88.1 grade in 2024
+ Doesn’t turn 22 years old until late August in 2026

    - Isn’t nearly as physical as many other top safeties in this class
    - Limited ball production with just two career interceptions
    - Eyes can get caught in the backfield
    - 20.8% missed tackle rate in 2024

    Draft projection: Day 2

  5. Kaleb Elarms-Orr (6’2 233) TCU/LB

+ Quick to fill the rushing lane
+ Dependable finisher on tackles with a 7.1% missed tackle rate
+ Highly productive with 130 tackles and 4 sacks during the 2025 season
    + High football IQ
+ Blitz timing and pursuit speed with 25 pressures in 2025
    + 89.1 run defense grade
    + 75.4 coverage grade

    - Appears to lack elite straight-line speed and lateral agility
    - Limited ball production with just one career interception
    - Over-pursues at times in run defense

    Draft projection: 4th
