Game Day Week 14: Titans vs. 49ers

Welcome back to 49ers football! After a week off San Francisco faces one of the worst pre-snap motion defenses in the league (0.18 EPA), and good teams beat the ones they should. My key ingredient for a recipe to victory is don't turn the ball over. Do that and victory should be assured. Brock Purdy needs to continue to take the checkdowns and not hold the ball. Pearsall needs to find the formula to create that chemistry. Spencer Burford needs to be on his P's and Q's versus Simmons. Dee Winters has to tackle well behind Collins who'll be counted on to shut down the interior. I've got the 49ers winning this game 31-13. Go Niners!

 Titans' DVOA thru Week 13:

Total: #31 Offense: #30 Defense: #29

49ers inactives vs. Titans in Week 15:
RB Jordan James WR Jordan Watkins DE Sam Okuayinonu (ankle) DT Jordan Elliott (knee) DT Sebastian Valdez LB Tatum Bethune (ankle) LB Nick Martin (concussion) RB Christian McCaffrey is cleared to play.

  2. The NFC seeding probably will be changing weekly. Not sure if I can remember an end of the season quite like this one.

  3. Givens' legs should be fresh as a daisies on that DL today.

  5. Hurry up offense seems to have been a point of emphasis on the bye. Nice!

  6. Agree, UC. The 49ers will not go far in the PO with this defense. No pass rushers and poor tackling is a recipe for a butt-kicking. These guys need to grow up soon before the playoffs.

    1. I was hoping with the rest, the defense would pick it up a little. So far eh...

  7. Niners should be burying this team, so far - not.

  8. Clean up the communication on the backend.

  9. Still need to get more stout up front. But it will come. Just hope it comes before the POs.

    1. Hopefully, when Sam O and Gross-Matos return they'll generate more pressure up front a bit. Would still like to see some 5-man fronts against some of these run heavy/QB suspect teams

  12. The 49ers are playing in easy mode. They need to keep their foot on the gas

  13. Great win! Get healthy and get back to work on tackling and communicating better in the secondary.

  14. Big game Thursday night. Hoping the Hawks can win that one.

  15. Got the job done. Nothing else matters.

Unfortunately neither the Colts or Lions helped us out.

  16. Nice win...didn't see the game yet. Looks like Brock had a game.

If Seattle plays like today against the Rams/Us, they will lose both games and maybe even the Panthers game.

NFC West is bonkers...and somehow we are still in the thick of it!

  17. Detroit’s loss to the Rams means the 49ers have the tiebreaker on the Lions in a two-way tie based on conference record.
