  1. Niners stop the run, Niners go to the playoffs. If they stop the run everything else will fall into place. Health....

    1. I don't think Kocurek's ever had 11 DL to rotate since he's been here. This should be fun!

    2. To start the season it's the unit I will be focusing upon. I think the season hinges on Kocurek's group.

I would agree with you that stopping Seattle RB Walker is a key to a 9er win. But the 9ers also need to put pressure on Seattle QB, Darnold.
Darnold has a history of holding onto the ball too long, that leads to sacks and he's inconsistent when making throws
      under pressure.

If the Niners can't stop the run the other team won't have to pass.

  2. The 49ers are releasing WR Russell Gage Jr. from their active roster, per Schefter. They intend to sign him to their practice squad and elevate him for Sunday’s game at Seattle if he does not sign elsewhere.

MVS has been elevated from the practice squad.

  3. Surprising to see Stout as the Starter at NCB.

True, he was dominant in training camp. But since he didn't play even a snap in preseason, maybe Saleh will ease the rookie in. I guess we will see.

  4. I was surprised at Brown over Sigle. I thought Sigle did everything he could to win that job. While Brown looked just as bad as he did all of last season.

    1. Wouldn't be surprised if Sigle rotates in a bit.

    2. Coach,
I see Brown as a bubble starter right now. After a few mistakes, Shanahan will be quick to install Sigle.

    3. Coach, sounds like the starter between Brown and Sigle is still yet to be decided, based on what Shanahan said a little earlier.

  6. The DT position has me worried. Not much starting talent or overall depth there.

    1. I think you'll see Kocurek rotating guys in and out like you haven't seen before.

  7. 49er fans anticipated to be around 50% at Seattle..... as I have said for the last 5 years, I think the 49ers fan base has been the best traveling group in the history of sports of late- and I suspect it isn't even that close (even during the Pittsburgh runs, they weren't taking over stadiums).

    1. That should take care of the crowd noise issues

    2. 100% agreed. We are the best travelling fanbase.

Only thing I would complain about this year is our fans heckling Moody, who is already under a ton of pressure.

  8. The 49ers have successfully re-signed Russell Gage to the practice squad.

    1. The rumors are that MVS was being pursued off of the PS. That is why he was promoted to the 53.

Great news as far as signing Gage to 53. Gage is one guy who can line up at all 3 WR spots. Not sure if he will be promoted on game day though.

  9. I'm disappointed that Puni or another O-Lineman is not a captain this year.

Feels like the same personnel are captains on the Offense, which can demotivate teams. I think Puni IMO earned the captaincy.
