All Is Forgiven
The 49ers and Jauan Jennings have agreed to a revised contract that would add $3 million in play-time incentives, per Schefter. Now Jenning...

The stench of the last game is still in my nostrils. Will the 49ers clear the air? Not if they don't start making tackles. Not if they...

Nope, it's not a misprint. After trading up to the #3 pick from #12, the 49ers have put themselves in a position to select their franch...
I'm betting JJ draws a personal foul in this game.
ReplyDeleteYep, that was the most likely outcome. A little extra to reflect his contribution but no change in length of contract.
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling that Jennings and the 49ers would come to some agreement this week. The only question now is will he be ready to play on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteMy prediction. Jennings will have a career years 1,200 to 1,350 yards and 8 to 10 TDs. He will sign with another team this off season and the 49ers will regret not signing him to an extension.
ReplyDeleteLast year was a special year due to injuries at the position and Deebo having an off year. I don’t see JJ having a repeat of last year unless the injury bug hits the position again.
DeleteI haven't seen the "incentives" set forth for JJ, but if he has a slow start out of the gates he may have a hard time reaching them. Especially if Pearsall has a breakout year and Aiyuk eventually returns to his pre-injury status. Also, if Jennings has a slow start there's a possibility that when Demarques Robinson comes back Jauan may be looking over his shoulder given that DR had a good TC. Many variables may arise if JJ starts slow.
ReplyDeleteAES,
DeleteFrom what I have heard the incentives are playing time incentives and they are pretty easily attainable.
Coach
ReplyDeleteJennings may have backed himself in a corner if the incentives include playing time. If he is injured and misses games that incentive is immediately off the table. And if he sustains a major injury his trade/FA ability loses traction. As I mentioned earlier, the ascending play of Pearsall and with CMC catching passes along with the returns of Aiyuk and Robinson, it may become a challenge for Jauan to reach particular incentives.
TBD
Back at practice today:
ReplyDelete- Jordan Watkins
- Jordan James
- Yetur Gross-Matos
With everyone practicing, I think it is going to be very tough to determine who will suit up and who is inactive on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThis is my guess on the inactives:
Drew Moss
Darell Luter Jr
Jordan James
Jordan Watkins (easing him slowly)
YGM (easing him slowly)
Nick Martin or Jake Tonges
One DL : Alfred Collins or Jordan Jefferson
Limited Participation in Practice
ReplyDeleteDE Yetur Gross-Matos (knee), RB Jordan James (finger), WR Jauan Jennings (calf), RB Christian McCaffrey (calf), G Dominick Puni (knee), WR Jordan Watkins (ankle)
-Bonilla
McCaffrey calf sounds ominous. I hope it is not serious.
DeleteHe must have walked under a ladder, carry a black cat, named "thirteen". Poor guy....can't seem to catch a break after the Offensive player of the year season.
If they go with 8 DL that means 3 are inactive. I think the secondary is too thin to inactivate a cb.
ReplyDeleteHorrible start for Philadelphia vs C'boys. 1. One of their players is injured on the 1st play of the game. 2. Jalon Carter walks over to the Boy's huddle and spits on Dak Prescott. If the league does not lay a heavy penalty on Carter whether by fine or suspension they have lost credibility.
ReplyDeleteHope they suspend him at least a game.
DeleteI think it deserves a suspension for the whole season. Outside of sport its interpreted as an assault. When someone spits on someone else it's vial and disgusting and in some instances can be life threatening.
DeleteYeah, Bill Romanowski received a $7,500 dollar fine for spitting in the face of JJ Stokes. There should have been a suspension for Romanowski's nasty disrespectful action.
