This is the deepest RB Draft in NFL history. Here's the list of anticipated RB's expected to be drafted between Rounds 1 through 2:
• Ashton Jeanty (Boise State)
• Omarion Hampton (UNC) • Kaleb Johnson (Iowa) • Dylan Sampson (Tennessee) • Jordan James (Oregon) • TreVeyeon Henderson (Ohio State) • Quinshon Judkins (Ohio State) • Raheim Sanders (South Carolina) • Ollie Gordon II (Oklahoma State) • Donovan Edwards (Michigan) • Devin Neal (Kansas) • Brashard Smith (SMU) • Cam Skattebo (ASU) • Le’Veon Moss (Texas A&M) • Phil Mafah (Clemson) • Trevor Etienne (Georgia) • Kalel Mullings (Michigan) • Tahj Brooks (Texas Tech)
Pick 11: Mock Draft Consensus current leaders for #SF's 11th pick:
ReplyDelete1) OT Kelvin Banks (17.1%)
2) OT Josh Simmons (11.4%)
3) EDGE Nic Scourton (8.6%)
(Data from 35 mock drafts over the past 10 days)
Kevin Banks would be my pick of the three.
ReplyDeleteHighlighting the RB list you provided.
I like John Emory Jr, former LSU. This kid reminds me of Elijah Mitchell. He is 6' 220 lbs 4.37 40, not bad.
While I would focus on the OL and DL I would like to add an explosvie rb. That is why I like the OSU rb... however Emory could fit the bill as well. Thanks for the info, I'll check him out.
DeleteI just really hope they make use of the strength and depth of the draft at certain positions. Grwat opportunity to add talent at DL and RB.
ReplyDeleteIn the event the 49ers go OL with 11, there should still be Edge/IDT talent available at 43. But it certainly wouldn't surprise me if Dealer John has a few tricks up his sleeve.
DeleteThe #Bucs are preparing for OC Liam Coen to be offered the Jags HC job, per Rick Stroud. I'm pretty sure if I saw this coming, Shanahan did as well. Baalke had to try and salvage Lawrence and he wouldn't be able to do that with Saleh.
ReplyDeleteSenior Bowl weigh in for Mike Green: 6036, 248 so 4/10ths of an inch shorter and weight right on the money.
ReplyDeleteWell, there you go. Looks can be deceiving.
DeleteWhere are you finding that info razor?
DeleteIf he does check in at a good size and has a great week, he might not even be there at 11. You reckon Verse is a comparison, but I see shades of Von Miller.

DeleteThose aren't official measurements.
DeleteI thought they were. How can you tell?
DeleteThe players are yet to arrive. It's just a tracker that has the list of attendees.
DeleteListening to the locked on 49ers podcast they both question James Pearce's size. Not his height but they think he lacks strength as he looks then thin to them... he is another player who's combine measureables will be interesting to learn.
DeleteJames Pearce Jr looks like a twitchier version of Leonard Floyd to me.
DeleteSuch a good year to need a big DE.
ReplyDeleteIf Saleh get a HC job and the 49ers end up with Staley as their DC it would change their draft radically. Going to the 3-4 will change the kind of DE/DT they will use. I wonder if they will try E. Anderson at NT with Bosa and Gross-Matos at DE/DT with Floyd at OLB. That would mean they would need an edge/OLB. They could keep Bosa outside then their need would be a big DE/DT. They would still need an ILB if Greenlaw doesn't sign.
ReplyDeleteBosa is too small to be a 3-4 end, he would have to play edge.
DeleteIm guessing with their personell they would primarily be in a big nickel.
Shoup,
DeleteBosa is really a tweener at 266 lbs. He could put on 10 and be okay at DE/DT I believe.
Here we disagree quite a bit for 2 reasons.
Delete1. I don't consider him a DT/DE tweener at all at 6'2", 266 with shorter limbs, and the amount of muscle he is carrying, I think his frame is about as maxed out as can be. Justin Smith made the transition but his frame was significantly bigger at 6'4" and he was a bit lean coming out. He got up to 285 which I think is about right imo.
2. The biggest reason, I wouldn't like him inside is I would hate to lose his ability off the edge, I cant see any way he would be as dominant on the inside given that so much of his game is predicated on his hand play techniques.
Ruh roh... Saleh now the favourite for the Jags job. This isn't going well.
ReplyDeleteI'd make Pete Carroll the highest paid DC over Saleh. That's the guy I wanted all along. Be like McVay's Wade Phillips. I felt Carroll returning as DC could be sold to him as coming full circle. We wouldn't have to worry about him ever getting another HC'ing job either.
DeleteYeah, just saw Sneaky Pete was now being considered.
Delete49ers are scrambling - they had all their eggs in the Saleh basket. Good news is there are still some guys out there that could fit the bill, if they're interested.
Pretty funny the Jags had to get feedback from their interviewee's to realize Trent Baalke was an impediment to their hiring process.
ReplyDeleteWho's left? Gus Bradley..... I wonder about the availability of Mike Zimmer....... and Dennis Allen hasn't signed in Chicago, I believe......
ReplyDeleteNohl Williams CB California is a day 3 prospect with some good tape.
ReplyDeleteOluwafemi Oladejo, DE, UCLA recently changed from an off the ball LB to edge. Interesting day 3 prospect.
ReplyDeleteThe two DEs from LSU look like underrated prospects to me.
DeleteSai'vion Jones day 3 value at Big DE and Bradyn Swinson who's climbing up boards. If they can't get Green he's someone they could hope develops but I don't like him in round 2.
DeleteJust spoke with the executive director of the Reese's Senior Bowl and Monday is when all players will be weighed and measured. Setting notifications on @seniorbowl.
ReplyDeleteDay 3 NFL upside as a nickel/safety prospect from Western Kentucky, Upton Stout - 90.9 run defense grade in his first year as a slot corner. Physical swiss army knife who the 49ers should have interest in on day 3.
ReplyDeleteAfter firing their GM Trent Baalke, will Jacksonville reopen the search for a new HC?
ReplyDeleteDid it take Liam Coen taking himself out of the running for the Head coaching job with Jacksonville for the owner, Shahid Khan, to realize
Coen did NOT want to work with GM Trent Baalke?
Are Shahid Khan and the Jacksonville Jaguars that dysfunctional?
Saleh will probably be named DC shortly after Coen is announced as their new HC.
DeleteI would add, Geep that once Saleh leaves, it'll be at that time, K. J. Wright will be ready to take over as DC.
DeleteDraft Edge at 11, 3t at 43 and 5i round 5
ReplyDeleteThis would be my approach to the draft.
DeleteObviously depends on whose available, but my preferred order would be DT at 11, OG at 43, Edge and LB in round 3, and another DT in round 4.
DeleteI'd probably address Safety and OG in round 3, RB, TE and LB in round 4. They get an extra 4th from Darnold for a total of 3.
DeleteWith Saleh returning as the 9ers DC, I'd like to see the 9ers try to sign free agent CB J.D, Reed, to replace C. Ward, if they can sign him for a reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteReed is a good scheme fit, can play inside and outside, thrived under Robert Saleh and was top 18 among CB in completion percentage allowed and PBU.
