  3. Nice, but can this be viewed as an indictment on the current group of RBs not named CMC?

  4. Guerendo's hamstring injury might more serious than first reported. In any case, welcome back Matt.

  5. About a half an hour ago M. Maiocco reported that both Cleve and NE have made trade offers that the 49ers have accepted. Now it all comes down to whether Aiyuk will accept either teams contract offer. If the Pats are offering K. Bourne as well as their first round pick next year and an additional 3rd or 4th and the Browns are offering A. Cooper as well as a 2nd and 4th or 5th round pick which would you take. I'm taking the Pats offer it is not a great trade for this season but could be a sensational trade in the long run both on the field and in the cap.

    1. It makes good business sense to trade Aiyuk to the Pats. They are the worst team in their division, so good chance that their 1st rounder will be in the early teens....same can't be said for Browns who reached playoffs last year.

I would just take extra draft picks from the Pats rather than a WR. Between Pearsall, Cowing and Chris Conley (feels weird saying that), I think we can replace 75% of Aiyuk's production.

If the production is not there and one of these players gets injured, then use the acquired draft picks to trade for a WR mid-season.

This will also show us how Purdy adapts without WR2. This approach will clear cap space and also keep SB window open for another couple of years.

Next year, we will have two 1st round picks. Draft a WR and LT....rinse, repeat. Let Deebo walk for Comp Pick.

  6. Came across this new.... Emmanuel Mosely (E-Man) is out indefinitely due to a torn pectoral, as per the Lions media.

    Absolutely brutal for him. :(

  7. I would for sure extend Deebo next year. I would not trade Aiyuk this year. He can play for 14 million this year if he'd like, and then I'd tag-n-trade him next year.

    1. If Aiyuk plays this season and has pedestrian numbers or is injured his value will decrease next year. If the 49ers can get 1st rd pick for BA this summer, I would jump on it ASAP.

    2. They could have gotten a first during the draft, lol. Don't take the trade cheese.

  8. At this point in time I think the 49ers just want BA out of their locker room. They also can use the money they will save to get TW into camp.

  9. If the 49ers can receive a 1st rd pick for BA, it would make it a little more easier for me to swallow. It's 1st rd or nothing!

  10. Christian McCaffrey will miss a few weeks of practice due to a calf strain and is not expected to participate in the preseason.

Elijah Mitchell is dealing with a strained hamstring.

Shanahan also noted that rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall re-aggravated a previous shoulder injury and was pulled from practice halfway through Tuesday's session as a precaution.

  11. I highly doubt the 49ers can get a 1st for Aiyuk, so then for me it comes down to what player(s) can they get in return plus a day 2 pick.

If it is indeed the Steelers he wants to go to, Pat Freiermuth and James Daniels would be guys of interest to me.

    1. They don't really need Daniels. They got plenty of IOL. I don't think Shanahan makes a losing trade. Look how he didn't give Jimmy G away for nothing.

    2. I like Daniels. Think he's a good fit for Shanny's system at any of the IOL spots. Could see him winning the center spot.

    3. Yea, I see a pass rushing DE as a bigger need.

  12. I can’t see Aiyuk willing to play for 14 million this year. I think there will either be a trade or he’ll sign what the Niners are offering. Most likely a trade, as the Niners reportedly have already agreed to trades. All that’s left is for Aiyuk to squeeze out a couple more $ million from one of the suitors. Seems like Aiyuk as all about maximizing the money. AMF

    1. He wants the money but he also wants to play with a winner in a city he feels comfortable.

  13. The 49ers are between a rock and a hard place. The FO and seemingly the players don't want BA in their locker room and teams aren't offering jack for him. The best short term option is Cleveland's offer of Cooper and draft picks but evidently BA has already turned down that trade. It seems to me that the only trade BA will accept is with the Steelers. How bout either Dylan Cook or Dan Moore plus a 2nd and a 4th round pick. Not great but maybe the best they are going to do. Another possible option is George Pickens and a 4th and 5th round pick.

  14. How do you know the FO and the players don’t want BA? I very highly doubt that.

    2. I don't. A statement was made that makes no sense to me so I was asking for evidence.

  15. I'm a fan I don't "know" anything I can only offer an opinion. The fact that they are open to trading him tells me they are done trying to negotiate with him. I listen to FO and players interviews and I have come to the opinion that both factions are tired of his rhetoric. Imho

  16. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG!
The 9ers DO NOT have to trade Aiyuk, they can force him to play for his 5th year salary ($14.1Mil.) or he can set out the year and not get paid. They can also use the franchise tag for 2025. But rather than do that, the 9ers are trying to "treat him with respect," by allowing his agent to negotiate a trade with other teams.
JL has said to trade Aiyuk, "it would take an offer that blows me away." Has another team offered JL a trade that blows him away?
As far as what has been reported in the press, NO!
So WHY is the 9er FO considering trading Aiyuk NOW? Money for a
BP contract next season (2025)? Possibly, but Paraag Marathe can structure the contract to manage that problem. But would that solve
the Aiyuk problem? NO! They'd have a cancer in the locker room!
So the question is, has the Aiyuk problem become a distraction that
the 9er front office wants to eliminate? OPINIONS WELCOMED!

    1. It appears that there is a gulf between the value each side sees. Unless one side gives in, there will likely be a trade. As for Aiyuk playing next year with the current contract, that would be a gamble on each side, so not a likely outcome in my opinion.

  17. Geep,
BA can sit out 8 games collect half of his contract and still accrue his 5th year. Ever since his strange quotes after the SB I have had a feeling that he is extremely unhappy with the 9ers. It may have to do with him being in KSs doghouse two different times. It could be he sees his relative lack of targets (compared to other #1 WRs) is a show of disrespect. His calling himself the teams only real WR seems to show mixed feelings with Deebo. I don't know it just feels like he really really doesn't want to be here. But then again I might just be talking out of my butt.

Yea, getting inside his head is difficult and you maybe right? But just between us "BUTT TALKERS," why has the 9er FO changed their minds about BA? WHY BA's big display of affection at practice last week? BA may be mad about his contract, but he doesn't appear to be a head case?
Based on what he's said in the press, I think it is safe to assume his ego is driving his actions and if he can't control
his ego? He could be saying things behind closed doors, and the 9er FO is tired of trying to appease him? That and his salary demands are more than the 9ers FO feels comfortable meeting and has decided to just eliminate the problem? Clearly, something changed and now the 9er are no longer demanding a trade that "blows them away." WHY?
Is it possible that mama bear has told Jed not to pay him and take the best trade they can get for him? We may never know?

  18. For the most part I have left the BA situation alone. Billionaires squabbling with millionaires is not in my area of desired conversation. It is getting more apparent that BA is more interested in money then a SB ring.

First and foremost I am a Niner fan, however every now and then a player comes along that tickles my fancy that tends to equal my fandom of the team. Willis, Montana, Alex Smith, Craig, Cowboy, and Purdy to name a few.

  19. UC,
It will be interesting to see if BA is traded will he come out and say what his motivation to be traded was. I think it is more than money

    1. I hope the Niners and BA can reach some sort of agreement. I sure hope it's nothing petty that led him to this possible trade.

  20. I believe that a Brinks Truck will make him happy. With the recent crazy money being paid to WRs it only magnifies Aiyuk's insistence on the big pay day. But the 49ers hold the cards in this situation. I'd like to see a 4 yr deal that keeps BA until he's 30. Can Paraag work his magic and keep #11 a 49er?
    TBD

  21. Cap wise i'm not sure signing BA for somewhere between 28 mill and 32 mill is the 49ers best move. They really want to roll over as much money as they can into the 25 cap so they can afford 60 mill or more for BP. If they trade BA for a vet on the cheap plus picks they could immediately sign TW with a 8 mill raise and still be able to roll over 52 mill plus how much the cap goes up. If they do that they could keep the SB window open foe 3 to 5 years. imho

For all the "what if's" and "maybe(s), "IF" BA decides to NOT accept a trade to another team, it will be obvious the 9er FO has called his bluff and he's the loser.
Also, if BA does accept a trade. As Bosa is quoted as saying: "The grass is not always greener on the other side." He could end up in a situation that his ego put him in and all
he can do is live with it......Your move BA!
