  4. QUESTION: " WHO YOU KEEPING?"
    EASY ANSWER
: Teams with the most Top 10 players according to NFL Execs, coaches and scouts:
    #49ers: 9
    #Lions 7
    #Chiefs 7
    #Ravens 7
    #Eagles 6
    #Texans 6
    #Browns 6
    #Packers 5
    * The 9 players who earned top-10 designations at their respective positions included RB Christian McCaffrey (1), OT Trent Williams (1), DE Nick Bosa (4), DT Javon Hargrave (9), S Talanoa Hufanga (9), TE George Kittle (2), LB'S Fred Warner (1) and Dre Greenlaw (9), and WR Brandon Aiyuk (10)
    * Even more impressive than the total number of 49ers players to make the list is the amount of different positions (8) SF has represented in Fowler's survey.
It is a perfect encapsulation of the balanced roster the 49ers have built, with San Francisco regularly finishing among the NFL's top offenses and defenses.

  5. THE ONE PLAYER I WOULD ADD TO THE LIST:
QB Brock Purdy Purdy, even though he did not crack the top 10, ending up as the first of six quarterbacks listed in the “honorable mentions” section. In the short snippet about Purdy, one anonymous NFC executive noted just how hard it was to "keep him out of the top 10. He willed that team to the Super Bowl.

Very good numbers that can't be dismissed.
Here are his stats in two Superbowl's.
    2020, 5 rec, 39 yrds, 0 td.
    2024, 3 rec, 33 yrds, 0 td.
Those stats are also hard to dismiss. Hopefully this changes if the 49ers make it to the SB again.

    1. Wanna post Aiyuk's SB stats?

      Delete
    2. Only if you post Purdy's stats. Purdy was not very sharp. And completely missed a wide open Aiyuk in the endzone for a game winning Superbowl.

    3. Neither Deebo nor Aiyuk had a good super bowl. Isn't that one of the reason they drafted Pearsall?

Deebo, good call. His SB stats are why I didn't include him with BP!
Also, he said he was “sluggish” last season and vowed never to put that kind of performance on tape again.

  8. Here are Aiyuk's stats in one Superbowl
    3 catches for 49 yards
Hopefully that changes when some team pays him 33 million aav.

  9. I saw his SB stats. I also believe that he could have caught the game winning pass had Purdy shown a little patience. If Purdy would have thrown to Aiyuk instead of forcing an overthrown pass to Jennings, Aiyuk might have been viewed differently today.

    1. AES: Are you referring to the pass where the OL had a mixup and Chris Jones was almost immediately in Purdy's grill? IIRC: Wasn't it after the game that Feliciano got drunk and called out one of the OL (Burford, I think) for missing the assignment. If that's the play, then I don't think you can lay that on Purdy.

    * If CMC didn't fumble inside the 30, instead scored a TD that was
the difference in who won the SB, would CMC be viewed differently today?
    * If the O-line wasn't outplayed by the KC D-line on critical plays
and the 9ers won the SB....Would the out come of the game be viewed differently today?
NOTE: It did NOT come down to just one play!
    * Here is a synopsis of the plays that was the difference in winning,
and the 9ers losing SB 58 to KC.

    1. GEEP,
I hear you. But in the case of CMC, the game was yet on the line. The Oline could have done a better job. But imho, the game did come down to the 49ers missed pass in overtime. Overtime somewhat represents a new game where one play makes a difference. The 49ers didn't make that one play, the Chiefs did.

As you say, "I hear you!" Except I have a problem with, "But in the case of CMC, the game was yet on the line."
    * It mattered NOT whether the 9ers scored points in the 1st quarter, the 4th quarter, or any time before overtime. Any points before OT and the 9ers would have won the game! There would have been no overtime.
    * The 9ers would have won their 6th Lombardi Trophy and we would
    NOT be having this conversation.....

  12. We could also add that had Moody made a point-after kick it could have made a difference. Had the Chiefs capitalized on CMCs fumble, that could have also changed the game. There were many if's. The 49ers won the coin toss in overtime and were one overthrown pass from winning. That still pains me, lol.

    THANKS FOR PROVING MY POINT.

    1. Of course everything in that game played big roles in the outcome. The punt off Luters foot. Heck, losing Greenlaw, Purdy having accuracy issues. But with all that, the 49ers still could have won the SB in overtime which would have overlooked the mistakes and injuries. They didn't.

  14. 3 days until camp opens. The 49ers may get lucky early in camp. The latest heat wave should begin to break Wednesday.

  15. Dunno about you guys but when they came back from commercial break showing Greenlaw going down I got sick to my stomach and knew the game was over. Kelce hadn't done dink until then and that's when Mahomes proceeded to throw 9 times for 9 completions against Burks. If they didn't lose Greenlaw the game would have never made it to OT, and Demeko Ryans said as much.

Which raises the question, when will Greenlaw return?
      * playing in the season opener seems unrealistic as he'll only be ~7 months removed from his injury and will start
the season on PUP. That means at best, he'll miss the 1st
4 games and won't be eligible to play until week 5 against
      Arizona.
      * How much faith do you have in Campbell, his replacement?

      Delete
    2. I'm not looking for Greenlaw before Christmas and the void he leaves is my primary concern. McCloughan loved Jalen Graham coming out. Maybe him or Winters who Warner threw some shade to is the guy. I don't have much confidence in Campbell. I see him more of a placeholder for the floor.

  16. Does that mean Dobbs is a better deep ball thrower than Mahomes?

UNFORTUNATELY, that is true! I've had several offers to buy mine! If work prevents me from attending a practice, I'll give my ticket (for that day) to a high school player, rather than sell it.
IMO, any 9er season ticket holder that sells his ticket for a
big profit, the 9ers should revoke that persons right to buy a season ticket....END OF PROBLEM!
