In The Zone

 Anybody surprised by this?

  1. OFF TOPIC, BUT RELEVANT:
    * The NFL is liable for $4,707,259,944.64 in 'Sunday Ticket' case. Damages can be tripled under federal antitrust laws, so the NFL could end up being liable for $14,121,779,833.92. Damages would be spread equally among the 32 teams, meaning each team could owe $441.3 million.2 days ago.
    * Payment of damages, any changes to the “Sunday Ticket” package and/or the ways the NFL carries its Sunday afternoon games would be stayed until all appeals have been concluded.
    * THE 9ER FO WILL TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION IN
    NEGOTIATIONS WITH PLAYER CONTRACTS....(THINK AIYUK)!

    1. Yea, Scooter made the point that it could affect future contracts. Just depends on future revenue.

True, but this puts a $$ number to it ($441.3 million). And not just for
the 9ers, but all 32 NFL teams.
You can also add several $$ million more for lawyer fees.
    * Also a question I have been unable to find out. Does this lawsuit
preclude a class action lawsuit? If anyone knows, feel free to post your opinion.

  4. As to the above list, not surprised in the least. I see teams playing at least 70% man versus the 49ers next season. I would like to see the same stat on BP versus man D. I'm guessing that his rating isn't near as high. For that reason I see BPs run rate going up considerably. I don't know how many rushes per game BP averaged last season but I could se it going up by as much as 5 to 8 per game.

    1. Look at the QB's that are underneath Brock Purdy. Pretty good. I would add that there aren't many teams like the Chiefs last year that had two shut down cb's. We added two man beaters at wr in the draft too.
To your point about Purdy running more, he said as much about making it a point of emphasis and bulking up a bit to take the hits.

  11. Of all the 9er 2024 draft picks, who do you believe will have the biggest impact this season?
Rd #1 WR Ricky Pearsall, Florida
Rd #2 CB Renardo Green, Florida State
Rd #3 OL Dominick Puni, Kansas
Rd #4 S Malik Mustapha, Wake Forest
Rd #4 RB Isaac Guerendo, Louisville
Rd #4 WR Jacob Cowing, Arizona
Rd #6 OL Jarrett Kingston, USC
Rd #7 LB Tatum Bethune, FSU

  12. GEEP,
I'm thinking that Pearsall and Cowing may have an impact this season. But much will depend on Aiyuk. Mustapha could make some noise if Hufanga's recovery has a setback. The other rookies may get a little playing time in case of injury or garbage time.

  13. Guerendo is at an RB camp under Frank Gore. Also with him are Jonathan Taylor, Melvin Gordon, and Gore's son. Pretty cool.
