  1. Interesting stats, 6 of the top 9 most penalized teams were playoff teams. Doesn't seem to be any correlation between excessive holding and winning.

  6. QUESTION FOR ANYONE THAT KNOWS:
    A) If the 9ers do NOT agree to a contract extension with Aiyuk and he
does, or does not play this season.
    B) The 9ers use the franchise tag on Aiyuk for the 2025 season and his salary is ~$25 Million.
CAN THE 9ERS THEN TRADE HIM AFTER USING THE FRANCHISE TAG ON HIM?

    1. Yea, the Chiefs just did it with Snead I think. Tag n trade Aiyuk and have him play on his 5th year is the route I'd go if I were Lynch. He has to play at least 6 games to accrue the season. He should play the year and take advantage of his opportunity to show a team why he's worth 30 million. I think Jerry Rice said the same thing.

    Tks
If Aiyuk refuses to play this year without an extension, I agree. Sign and trade him!

  8. Personally, I don't believe that this would be the precedent the 49ers should set. It makes the Org look like the bad guy and players around the league will take notice. The team knows how important BA is, and this will be the motive behind working out deal.

Help me understand your reasoning on Aiyuk?
Do you believe Aiyuk is worth $35 million dollar P/Y?
      $32 mil P/Y? $30 Mil P/Y? $28 Mil P/Y?
Is Aiyuk, In your opinion, better than all the other WR's on the list? If not, where do you believe he fits in?
      * NFL's highest-paid receivers: Annual value
      Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings: $35,000,000.
      A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles: $32,000,000. ...
Amon-Ra St. Brown Detroit Lions $30,000,000
      Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins: $30,000,000.
      Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins: $28,250,000.
Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders: $28,000,000.
Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams: $26,700,000.

    2. He's Purdy's main target. Not trying to be short. But Aiyuk's numbers have increased with Purdy as QB. Aiyuk is a great route WR and that makes him vital to the teams succes. Pearsall could become that WR, which could make BA expendable. But that has yet to be proven. I don't know how all this works out, but I'm hoping the 49ers keep Aiyuk.

I don't disagree with anything in your post, but I'm asking to compare him to the other top paid NFL WR's and their salaries
From the numbers posted by the others.
After comparing Aiyuk's stats with the other WR's, I'd say his
stats would put him between Hill at $30 Mil P/Y and Waddle
      at $28.5 Mil P/Y.
Also, If Aiyuk plays this year and has another good year, then
pay him accordingly. But if he holds out, IMO, that is a selfish
move that shouldn't be rewarded. Fine him for the 2024 games
he misses, then franchise and trade him for 2025 season.
The 9er FO also has to take into consideration the fact that the
NFL lost the Ticketmaster lawsuit for $14 billion dollars total (residential + commercial payouts) comes out to $440 million per team — or nearly 2x this year's salary cap of $255.4 million per team. And the 9ers will have to pay BP ~$50+ million in
2025. Obviously the NFL will appeal the decision, but the NFL
will have to budget as if that is what they'll face for the salary cap.

    4. GEEP,
I see the 49ers agreeing at around 29-30mil. But, the guarantee money will play a big part in the overall negotiations, imho. As I mentioned to Razor. Aiyuk has become Purdy's favorite WR, he's still ascending and stays on the field. That's a huge negotiations chip for Aiyuk. I'm not so sure if Deebo has plateaued. But his SB stats 3 rec.for 33 yrds and 3 runs for 8 yrds certainly doesn't evoke the same confidence that I had in him a couple of years ago. I still believe that Aiyuk and the 49ers will work something out. At least I'm hoping for that.

  9. Deebo is more important than Aiyuk.

    1. Could Guerendo be a Deebo?

    2. Not of late. Aiyuk has surpassed Deebo in Rec's & Yards category. Also, Aiyuk has become Purdy's favorite target especially in big games. While Deebo can do a few more things from the back field, good defensive teams can nullify him. If I had to choose between the two players, it would be Aiyuk.

    3. Look at the TD's. Not even close in tackling breaking either.

    4. I would have liked to see him have that type of impact in the SB. He was hampered by a hamstring in the 2nd half of the SB. Speaking of the SB, Purdy had issues connecting with Deebo throughout the game. I'll stick with Aiyuk.

  10. Aiyuk has missed a total of 3 games in his career due to injury while Deebo has missed 17 games. That doesn't take into consideration all the games Deebo has played banged up where his play was negatively effected I.E. this years SB.

  11. Did you guys hear what Shanahan just said about Deebo? Dude is one of one. Aiyuk isn't and doesn't make defenses gameplan around him. Have you ever seen him take over a game when Deebo was out? I haven't.

    1. I was waiting for Deebo to take over the Superbowl. It didn't happen. I'll stick with Aiyuk who has been ascending in the last two years as well as staying on the field. I love Deebo. But he was almost a no-show in the biggest game for the 49ers.
