  1. Any idea when they started tracking that stat? I wonder if it was being counted during J. Rice and J. Taylors career?

  2. Coach,
I would go way, way back to Mike Dikta and John Mackey. Mark Bavaro could have been on this list as well. How about the Chiefs Otis Taylor? These "after catch" type players have filled the landscape of the NFL for more than 60 years.

  3. Deebo Samuel among WRs since 2019:

🥇 9.5 yards after catch per reception
🥇 105 missed tackles forced on receptions
🥇 1,378 receiving yards after contact

  4. Could it be that Deebo's style throughout the regular season limits his physical ability in the playoffs? I definitely appreciate Deebo's great play during the
season to help put the 49ers in the playoffs. But he didn't show up in the Superbowl and that's where your biggest stars need to shine, imho.

    1. You also need your "biggest stars" to play through significant injuries just as Deebo and Kittle were able to do throughout the playoffs.

    2. Absolutely, and I give Deebo credit for playing through a hamstring injury. But a 3 catch for 33 yrds and 3 runs for 8 yrds day are poultry numbers for our star player. Whether injured or not, he made no impact on the game.

  5. Surprising to see Hurts so far up....Eagles are supposed to have a great O-line.

  6. Maybe Hurts creates unnecessary pressure by struggling to go through his progressions.

  7. Garrett Nussmeier is gonna make Daniels' numbers at LSU look pedestrian.

    1. Razor,
That's a strong statement given the fact that Daniels was darn good. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll have to check him out this season.

  8. Deebo had a strained hamstring during the SB. I think the 9ers kept him in as a decoy. I think the reason they used Jennings so much was Deebo's injury. Deebo's style of play leads to injuries as well as being tightly muscled leads to soft tissue injuries. As they say the greatest ability is availability. Sign Aiyuk now. Trade Deebo at the trade deadline (if everyone else is healthy)

    1. Good news is if you were paying attention to Shanahan's presser this year he seemed pumped up to finally developed a proven analytics program to give them an edge avoiding soft tissue injuries.

Gameday Week 10: Seahawks vs 49ers

Sounds as if Kittle is out for this game and Williams will likely play. Can Eric Saubert step up and fill some of that void? I think he ca...
