Stay tuned in the middle of Round 2 and/or top of Round 3 as I suspect those might be the 49ers "sweet" spots for trading up.
Since you didn't list O-Lineman Graham Barton, Duke, you don't believe he'll be drafted as an OT?
ReplyDeleteDidn't Tampa draft Barton?
DeleteYes, my bad.....
Delete"Fire pick." Brandon Aiyuk's text to John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan regarding his former ASU teammate Ricky Pearsall
ReplyDeleteAccording to @SumerSports, new 49ers WR Ricky Pearsall was second among all WRs in the draft in average separation and third in separation when the ball is in the air. He was WR7 in YAC
ReplyDeleteDuring Ricky Pearsall’s collegiate career, he had 160 receptions and just 6 drops. A drop rate of just 3.6%.
ReplyDelete* If OT is the 9ers position of greatest need in the 2024 draft, that leaves OT Kingsley Suamataia, BYU,. OT Roger Rosengarten, UW, OT Blake Fisher, N. D. and OT Kiran Amegadjie, Yale. * Of the 4, assuming he hasn't been taken at pick #63, Roger Rosengarten has the most experience and the best fit for the 9ers ZBS. OT Kingsley Suamataia, IMO, has the highest ceiling, but none
ReplyDeletethe 4 are the best player available.
After this run on WRs I think its fair to say the 49ers didn't have much room, if any, to trade back and still get Pearsall.
ReplyDeleteBased on how Houston QB CJ Stroud reacted to the 9ers drafting Pearsall, he wouldn't have lasted past draft pick # 42!.
ReplyDelete* Who do you see the 9ers drafting in 2nd round with no trade, OT,
D-line or CB?
Kingsley Suamataia if he's there at 63.
DeleteWashington is hitting it out of park. Adams is kill'in it in his first Crack at GM.
ReplyDeleteAdam Peter's ^
DeleteDang, Packers just took Bullard. Thought he'd be the target for the 49ers.
ReplyDeleteThe 49ers need to draft an OT crowd won't be happy, but nickel has a much higher chance of starting/ contributing from day 1 at this draft spot. And Green is the type of ultra competitive player the 49ers like.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Bullard was their first choice, then Rosengarten, but with both gone they were happy to drop back a spot and get Green.

DeleteWHY DID THE 9ERS TRADE WITH KC?
After the Ravens draft Roger Rosengarten, OT, UW with pick #62, the 9ers trade with KC and KC draftED Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU. What did they gain? I had CB Green, going at #124 in the 4th round?
No offense... but where you had Green ranked means little to me. I doubt he would be there at the 49ers next pick.
DeleteNiners traded their #211 for KC's #173
DeleteDid anyone else have Renardo Green, CB, Fl. St. going at #124 in the 4th round?
ReplyDeleteGreen was seen as an early 3rd through to 4th round pick by most. Getting him at 64 may be a bit of a reach, but good chance he was gone by 94.
DeleteGood player. Can see why the 49ers like him.
Scooter
DeleteI agree, Green is a good player. What I don't understand is trading with KC, who took Suamataia?
Any idea who would draft Green before pick #94?
I think it tells you everything you need to know about what the 49ers think of the OTs.
DeleteThere are plenty of teams that could have taken a DB like Green before 94.
I think the 9ers were sold on Rosegarten when Baltimore swooped in and grabbed him one pick before the 9ers. I think the trade with KC was simply a way to give them a little time to take a look at their board. I just hope Suamataia wasn't their next pick.
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt they were caught off guard. But yes, I think Rosengarten would have been their pick, or Bullard. With them gone Green was highest left on their board, I am sure.
DeleteDominick Puni could be a hidden gem. Very nice picks so far.
ReplyDeleteAgreed
DeleteDominick Puni’s 2 seasons at Kansas:
ReplyDelete• 784 pass-blocking opportunities
• 0 sacks allowed
• 1 quarterback hit
What are you thinking razor, OT, OG or C?
DeleteCenter is interesting but probably is the starting LG next year. Could be a 6th OL this year as part of situational football.
DeleteHe got some work at C at the Senior Bowl, so could be an option down the track. But yes likely ends up at LG.
