Happy Anniversary!

It was brought to my attention that today is the 1 year anniversary of our little clubhouse known as, Inspired 49ers. Where fans can come to meet up with old friends and develop new ones discussing everything Niners.

It's been a whirlwind year and although it didn't end the way we all would have liked; the 49ers have set themselves up for sustained success. They've got some big decisions to make with regards to restructure's, resigning's, free agency and a draft class that's deep in value from pick #15 through pick #60. WR stands out to me as the deepest positional quality, while QB looks like the weakest. I don't expect the 49ers to address the secondary until round 3 as has been their SOP. I'd expect them to look hard early at center and edge, specifically a speed rusher to take Ford's role.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Scooter's graciousness in volunteering his talent to educate and entertain our fans. His contributions have been appreciated by all. I haven't heard from Midwest Dynasty in quite some time, so if there is another out there that would like to take his place just shoot me an email.

Soon, we will be doing a positional breakdown of the draft and identifying those players in the draft the 49ers might have interest in. Until then, I wish you all a wonderful offseason. Go Niners!

    * So let me be the first to congratulate you on the first
anniversary of the Inspired 49ers, with many more to come!
    * I second your mentioning Scooter's graciousness in volunteering his talent to educate and entertain us.
    * With respect to the 9ers having big decisions to make with regards to free agency. IMO, with Alex Mack's possible retirement, it's a top priority for the 9ers to find and sign his replacement. Baltimore FA, OG/C Bradley Bozeman would be my first choice.
I would move Aaron Banks to LG, the position he played at ND, and let Bozeman play RG if, or until, Mack retires.
    * With respect to LG Laken Tomlinson. While I would like to see the 9ers resign him, I expect he'll be priced out of the 9ers ability to keep him, with offers of $10 to $12 Mil p/y
    * Last but not least, I'd like everyone on the blog to give their opinion of team JG will go to, and draft picks the 9ers will receive for him.

  6. I wonder what Kocurek could do with Dante Fowler.

  7. JimmyG's destination..

    I think that some factors will impact where he ends up;
    - Wilson stays in Seattle for one more shot.
    - Rodgers stays in GB (Denver will make a hard press)- if Adams goes, he may leave as well....
    - Cousins (?)
    - Wentz, cut.. goes to ?
    - Carr extended in LV
    - Philly, looking for an upgrade over Hurts (cannot blame them).....
    - Winston = NO or TB

Pittsburgh, Denver and Indy are the best destinations- I would add Miami, but McDaniels already indicated he liked Tua, so I see them sticking with him for a year. Howard is a malcontent there, so maybe there is some hope that a deal could be reached....

I see JimmyG going to Denver for their two 2nd round picks (2nd coming over from Rams as part of V Miller trade). Indy doesn't have a 1. Steelers 1 at #20 could be in play too, and perhaps he wants to play closer to home.

    Therein,

  8. Denver gives the Niners number nine pick, Niners give Denver JG, Greenlaw, and maybe a third. Denver needs a QB and a LB. I don't see Denver doing anything better in the draft at nine or the FA route then a trade for JG. The window is open for the Broncos to get playoff bound, those windows close quickly so...

    1. Maybe he throws deeper up there.

    2. The way I see it is JG is going to garner a first-round pick, where, not sure. The draft is void of talent and the FA is not good at all. Some are saying with Rodgers and Wilson might be seeking other teams, well then the Packers and the Hawks need a QB. So...

  9. They promoted within with Fleury taking over the TE's coaching position.

  11. Jimmy Garoppolo trade: How 49ers could wind up with at least a 1st-round pick
King told Damon and Ratto on 95.7 the Game in San Francisco that Garoppolo would immediately become a hot commodity if Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson aren’t traded in the offseason.

    1. The writing was on the wall when they drafted Banks in round 2. Prior to the start of the season, the 49ers tried to extend Tomlinson but he wanted to test F/A. I do not see him returning because a team like the Bengals could throw 12 million at him.

    2. With respect to Jimmy, I always believed the 49ers would get more than what most were saying. A 1st round pick would not surprise me in the least, and Peter King has been adamant about it. We'll see how it plays out. The sooner the better but I wouldn't expect any deal until mid March.

    3. If they get a 1st, I suspect it won't be in 2022. But desperate trams can do desperate things, so who knows?

  12. Razor posed a question/suggestion about their looking at Dante Fowler as a signing. Here's a Niner Nation article a few days ago that pushes that.

    1. All depends on how much he will cost. He's been on $12M plus for a few years now. Not sure he'd be too keen on taking a discount just to play for the 49ers, and I suspect there will be a decent market for him.

    2. Lynch does have his work cut out for him this offseason, and he'll earn every penny.

  14. Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary Razor/Scooter...you are both doing an excellent job! Keep the content coming. :)

I'm especially thankful that this blog has not devolved into a political forum and we can just stick to all things Niners.

On a separate note, Great to hear about the rumors from Eagles and Colts on interest for Jimmy G. Frankly with the Eagles involved, we have more leverage and might just get a 1st round pick or multiple Day 2 picks. All we need now is for Rodgers and Wilson to commit to their respective teams!
