Secondary Help

49ers have agreed to terms with veteran free agent corner Josh Norman to bolster their secondary. @NFLonFOX

Josh Norman can earn up to $2.5 million on this deal with the #49ers, source says. Had other interest as well. Gets a deal with a base value above the minimum.

Hope this move wasn't precipitated by Verrett's foot. Regardless, Norman was pretty good for the Bills last year. Nice insurance policy. I like it!

  1. Will be interested to see who gets cut to make way for him.

To me this is a worrying sign. Never good to feel the need to bring in a vet FA just before the season starts, especially one that didn't spend any time in a training camp. Suggests there is either an injury concern or they didn't evaluate the position properly during the offseason... or both.

  2. Scooter,
Can a player on the PS be cut to make room for Norman, or does it have to be someone from the 53 man roster?

    1. It's likely Johnson draws the short straw, AES.
