  1. Thanks very much for publishing all the comparisons you do. This one makes me appreciate Purdy even more. Maybe Buckner will help push Sam’s number up a bit.

    1. My pleasure George. You're one of the guys I keep this blog going for.

    2. Oh, come on. What would you be doing without us? (Joking)

  2. A potential reunion between Jauan Jennings and the San Francisco 49ers reportedly fell apart after the veteran wide receiver made it clear he had no interest in returning to the team. According to NFL insider Jay Glazer, the 49ers and Minnesota Vikings had a trade agreement in place that would have sent Jennings back to San Francisco.

    2. Agreed George. JJ would rather sit than work for his money.

    3. TBH- don't blame him......... he knows the WR group is returning and he will eventually slide down the ladder- and Stribling is the future.

    4. This is an interesting development from a 49ers perspective for a few reasons. 1, it tells us the 49ers absolutely are looking at WR help before the trade deadline. 2, it tells us they aren't fully confident in the current WR group, though whether that be due to injury concerns or performance is uncertain. 3, it tells us they aren't looking at someone to replicate the deep threat component that Evans has added at X, because that's not Jennings' game.

All together, it makes me think Stribling isn't coming back this year, and they're yet to be convinced by Kirk, Watkins, Cowing and Cook.

    5. Agree Scooter- Jennings doesn't change THAT much for the 49ers as he lacks the separation they need. I imagine that they're making calls on Downs, Q Johnson, BTJ etc

  3. Looks like a close, but no cigar outcome. Like Evans, JJ was adept at climbing the ladder for a high pass. Taller WRs give Purdy bigger targets which adds a nice dimension to his game.

    1. Me personally, I wouldn't draft anymore small receivers.

    2. Having a mix isn't a bad thing, but Purdy has shown an unwillingness to pass to anyone that doesn't prove they'll fight for the ball and be in the right place when expected. The small WRs they've had the past few years haven't shown that.

  4. No more unbeaten teams left. Vikings went down.

    1. Let's hope the Viking tackle us the way they did the Lions today.
