Seattle is at No. 1 in pass rush win rate and the 49ers are No. 2 in pass block win rate headed into today’s game. The Seahawks defense is 1st in the NFL in epa/play outside the red zone. They rank 31st in red zone defense. Sam Darnold throws 62% of his passes between the numbers.
#2 in NFL
49ers force passes outside the numbers, allowing only 28% to be thrown between the numbers.
#28 in NFL
Darnold's splits?
Between the numbers:
+0.25 EPA/att, 59% success, 9.9 YPA, 31-of-39
Outside the numbers:
-0.54 EPA/att, 35% success, 5.8 YPA, 14-of-30
The Seahawks won back-to-back big games against the 49ers last season. The 49ers had all offseason to think about those games. They also heard all the noise Seattle made on social media. A win keeps the Seahawks grounded while at the same taking command of the NFC West. Niners win this battle 20-16!
This will be the first game that Brock Purdy will ever play without Kyle Juszczyk in his career!
49ers inactives:
QB Kurtis Rourke
DE Nick Bosa (knee)
DT James Thompson Jr. (ankle)
S Marques Sigle (ankle)
FB Kyle Juszczyk (knee)
T Enrique Cruz Jr.
LB Tatum Bethune
This game has the makings of being a great game. We all know that the Seahawks are going all out to sack Purdy. Judgement day has arrived.
ReplyDeleteGeorge Kittle is sick but will play.🤮🤢
ReplyDeleteI hate to hear Kittle is sick but if there is anyone I trust to still play well despite being sick it’s Kittle. Let’s go Niners!
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteIs anyone else disappointed IN NBCbayarea sports. They no longer have a former player on their pre and post game shows. Just talking heads. What’s the point in watching that?
ReplyDeleteSeems cutbacks are the norm now. I'd rather a former player over Chan any day!
DeleteWill the 49ers give up a sack today!
ReplyDeleteAhh, ?
ReplyDeleteWoohoo what a start!
ReplyDeleteWell S**t.
DeleteWTF Kyle... at midfield you are in 2 down territory and you choose to pass. Just get the first down... run the ball.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same
DeleteCome on Trent. That was terrible.
ReplyDeleteToo many mistakes at this point, Niners need steady themselves.
ReplyDeleteWe just need to settle down. D playing well and Running game going for us.
ReplyDeleteThis is very much a winnable game for the 49ers. No more mistakes and open up some running lanes to nullify Seattle's pass rush. Bam, TD!
ReplyDeleteYes, just need to take it one play at a time. Forget field position. Just punch in the mouth on each play, we got this!
DeleteWell the run game has been good so far. I would love it if they could just pound it down their throat. Hope it can happen and we can see an Niner win.
ReplyDeleteStupid play Greenlaw.
ReplyDeleteGracen Halton - What a homerun 4th round pick!
ReplyDeleteWhat a game he is having. Huge strip and recovery right there!
DeleteI hope we come out at halftime and run the ball down their throats.
ReplyDeleteHalton is vying for DROTY!
ReplyDeleteWhy Kyle keeps going away from the run and keeps trying for shots on this team I just dont understand.
ReplyDeleteYeah, very pass-happy today. Will come to bite us in the butt. I can feel the momentum shifting.
Delete2nd quarter we didn't get 3 points and now zero points on the turnover.
Id prefer some run game and quick game.
DeleteI think that would help them move the ball... I know I could be wrong... but this O has been tough to watch.
We have more penalties and less yards on offense. Time of possession is lopsided.
ReplyDeleteWe need a clock eating drive with points now.
We need a long sustained drive.
ReplyDeleteSo much for that.
DeleteDang..
ReplyDeleteWe have a game on our hands now.
ReplyDeleteAlright Purdy....earn your MVP now.
So far we have no passing games against that defense.
ReplyDeleteMistake after mistake after mistake. Come on Niners snap out of it.
ReplyDeleteSecond half woes for the 49ers offense. They need to turn it up
ReplyDeleteHall of fame drive right there from Brock and Evans.
ReplyDeleteThey had to go against 11 in Seattle D, the 12th Man and also the Zebras.
D needs one solid stop now.
Need a stop D
ReplyDeleteDang!! It's a slobber-knocker out there.
ReplyDeleteYes. Game is setup perfectly for a Darnold 4th Quarter INT or fumble. :)
DeleteOutstanding
ReplyDeleteJust Wow
