OL Specifics

  1. I wonder, if Colby's play continues to deteriorate if they have anyone ready to replace him. I have a feeling they are preparing Willis to take over at C next year.

  2. The above stats are a little skewed. They hide the fact that Purdy is a good scrambler when the pocket breaks down. If Purdy was simply a pocket passer only he would have been sacked much more. Atlanta did their best to keep Purdy in the pocket and they found success. Brock is really good when he leaves the pocket, but it's not good for longevity.

    1. Sacks are on the qb holding the ball. Pressures are on the OL. Look at the 49ers Sack % On The OL which ranks 1st at 1.3%. A lot of that holding of the ball by Purdy could be attributed to his WR's not winning on their routes.

  4. I was speaking regarding Purdy's scrambling ability. Which has saved him from being sacked on many occasions. Because of this, the OL will receive good stats.

    1. You believe the offensive line's high ranking is due to Purdy's scrambles? I couldn't disagree more.

  5. OL has been good this year. A few games where they've struggled a little to run the ball, which I'd love to see them clean up, but pass pro has been excellent. Colby the weakest link, but even he's exceeded my expectations.

    1. Trent and Puni are playing at Pro Bowl/ All Pro levels, while McKivitz and Brendel are playing like above average/ good starters. That's the makings of a really good OL.
