The fast start was nice, but man, the 2nd and 3rd qtrs were brutal.
ReplyDeleteRather than flush it, I'd like them to take it as learning they aren't so amazing they can afford to half bake it, and they still need to be fully locked in every week.
The Niners beat themselves they "aren't so amazing" after all. That game was hard to watch with all the mistakes.

DeleteI'd suggest they acquire another DL/Pass rusher by the trade deadline too. Pressure rate reverted back to 2024-week 16 vs Miami at their lowest of 9%.

Agree on acquiring another pass rusher. Pennix hardly received any pressure today. But, Bosa will be back after the bye. I believe that the defensive game plan was to keep Bijon in check as much as possible today.
DeleteBad loss, but comes at a good time. It is good that they will be stewing on this loss for 2 weeks. Could make us beat the crap out of the Raiders :) who will be at a rest disadvantage and coming from their own East Coast early game.
ReplyDelete"When you win, you're never as good as you think you are, and when you lose, you're never as bad." So I think we will be alright. This loss might just make JL be very active at the deadline.
Positives are Watkins play and Black's emergence.
Negatives - Have Stout on the field.... Jack Jones is not it. Cooks looked slow, I would rather invest on Watkins who has 2 more years on contract and Grimes who was scout team player of the week.
I wonder if they look at Hobbs with Jones' struggles.
DeleteI’m also not going to dwell on this loss. It was bound to happen at some point. When you’re down to your 7th best receiver it is tough to win. Hopefully they get Evan’s and Kirk back after the bye.
ReplyDelete2 comments. Moody is 18 for 20 since leaving the Niners and is on a practice squad. Just saying. Watkins recently asked Kyle what he needed to do to get on the field. He had his chance. Adios MF.

DeleteYeah, the 49ers didn't turn into a bad team because of this loss. Just a very frustrating display.

Not necessarily a glowing review of him, but he’s showing to be the best WR they have until Evans, Deebo, Robinson and Stribling come back.
Would be great if he doesn’t let the ball shift when falling to the ground in the end zone, but he showed good balance going up high for that dime from Purdy (Purdy was off today, but that was one of his better throws, imo).
