The Athletic’s latest NFL Power Rankings have the 49ers #1. Is this an overreaction to compensate for the poor outlook most had for the 49ers due to concerns over LG, S, DE and health?

Cardinals played 0% Man to Man coverage against the Chargers. Should we expect more of the same week 3 against the 49ers?

Seattle's #2 ranking could slip if Darnold's injury is lingering. KC looked awful good last night. You give Mahomes a good/great running game and he is very tough to beat. Spags D is always very good
ReplyDeleteIt's a long season and anything can happen. Not every team that is favored to win the Super Bowl actually wins. According to Google AI, "preseason betting favorites fail to win the Super Bowl roughly 85 to 90 percent of the time." After all of the injuries to 49ers players last year and losing Stribling in the first game this season, I'll try to withhold my excitement until the 2nd half of the season while keeping my fingers crossed. But I will enjoy the ride.
ReplyDeleteThe 49ers have signed DL McKinnley Jackson to their practice squad, per MZenitz.
ReplyDeleteGood they are more than trying him out.
DeleteThe Niners have promoted TE Brayden Willis to the active roster as expected.
ReplyDeleteYou nailed that one. I preferred Dinkins because of his blocking.
DeleteI like Dinkins but Willis' experience likely made the difference.
DeleteI'm usually early, but imo Dinkins may have what it takes to replace Kittle. He's got the blocking. True, he wasn't featured in Penn State's passing attack, but to me the highlights show he's comfortable catching the ball and running after the catch.
DeleteJackson highlights. These are claimed to be 2025.

One game does not make a season! However, looking at the 9ers schedule, the teams they play this season and how those teams played in week one, I expect the 9ers Win - Loss record to be better than the (11W - 6L) that has been projected.
ReplyDelete* After watching the Seattle VS Patriot game as well as the KC VS Denver game, Seattle is not the same team without RB K. Walker and
KC is, IMO a legit SB team.
Dallas is still the cowgirls without all the hype. Harbaugh and the NY Giants controlled the clock and dominated the run game. No reason the 9ers won't do the same. It's a long season and a lot of things will
change, but as of today, Seattle at Seattle and KC at KC are the only two games I see the 9ers losing. The Giants at the Giants, after the
Seahawk game could be a trap game.
The 49ers are signing TE Jack Stoll to their practice squad, per Mike Garafolo.
ReplyDeleteAbove average blocking TE.
