Defense, still wins championship and stopping the run is the most important part of defense.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteRE Seattle QB Sam Darnold and loss of RB Walker
Delete* IMO, the loss of RB Walker will hurt Seattle, forcing Darnold to carry the offense and becomes more One-dimensional.
* QB Darnold, as Razor points out, is prone to turnovers when pressured. * Rookie RB Price will not replace Walkers production.
They still are a strong playoff team.
ReplyDeleteOn offense they have WRs Njigba, Kupp and Shaheed. They're biggest loss this off season was RB Walker.
Their #1 pick RB Price could help, but may not be ready to carry the load like Walker did. They have a young, but ascending defense that will be the reason for them making a good playoff run. But no repeat.

DeleteSeattle lost several starters who will be missed.
* RB Walker signed with KC. An elusive, explosive, big play RB
* S Coby Bryant, signed with Bears. A primary starter in the
Seattle secondary.
* EDGE Boye Mafe, signed with Bengals. Physically gifted LB
with elite 4.26s speed!
* CB Riq Woolen, signed with Eagles. A rare, high-ceiling CB with physical size (6'4" X 210 lbs with a 4.26s 40 speed
49ers have brought back DT Kevin Givens. He takes the spot of Evan Anderson, who was cut yesterday.
ReplyDeleteAnderson never really stepped up his opportunities.
ReplyDeleteGivens is more reliable.
Givens fits the style of DT that Morris likes far better than Anderson
DeleteAgree.
DeleteIMO, the Defensive player that will have the greatest impact on the 9er D will be DT Osa Odighizuwa. * If double teamed, Bosa is freed up to get sacks.
Delete* Even if Osa is double teamed, he'll create pressure on the opposing QB. * He fits a variable, attack-style defensive that DC Morris likes to run, (STAR and a 5 man D-line that prevents opposing offenses from easily predicting the 9ers D alignments.
The day we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. Let all of the prognosticating begin
ReplyDeleteI'll make a few predictions (not that it means anything at point). Romello Height will have 7-9 sacks in his rookie year.
ReplyDeleteStout will make a strong run for Pro-Bowler. Pearsall will lead the team in receptions. K. Black will emerge as the backup to CMC. Purdy will have 10-12 Ints, but still be one of the most efficient QBs in the league. Tonges be the best backup TE to Kittle that the 49ers FO has been looking for.
I definitely wouldn't bet my old work boots on any of this. But, it's my idea of adding a little fun on Sunday until camp really begins to rev-up.
I like your prediction better than Branch's, which I found disturbing.
DeleteThanks, Razor.

DeleteThat's a 👍 from me also.
Play of training camp so far
ReplyDeleteBrock Purdy drops dime to Mike Evans deep down left sideline with Deommodore Lenoir in coverage
Mike wins the route and perfect ball placement by Purdy 😮💨
Favorite defensive play of the day was Fred Warner stuffing Jordan James at the LOS
ReplyDeleteIn typical Fred Warner fashion, he walked directly towards the entire 49ers offense after the play flexing and talking trash
Football is back 😌
Chris Foerster says Connor Colby and Robert Jones "have set themselves apart" in the competition for the 49ers' left guard spot. (These were the two predicted frontrunners)👀Pads haven't even come on yet!
ReplyDeleteNot surprised that Willis isn't currently considered a front runner. Always thought it would be hard for him to win thr job without injuries in front of him.
DeleteHard but not impossible. He's a better run blocker than both Colby and Jones.
DeleteI see the 9ers trying Carver Willis as a Center
DeleteThese are fun times at 2026, 49ers training camp.
ReplyDeleteQuick thoughts:
ReplyDelete-Just now Trent Williams noted how different the 49ers defense is now under Raheem Morris. Lots of 5-man fronts and new angles.
-Fred Warner said we'll see how things turn out in the regular season, but they're definitely trying many more new things this camp
Morris' greatest attribute may be that he knows McVay's offensive scheme. Which could be a huge plus because I see the Rams as the top team in our division to beat. It will definitely be interesting how it shakes out this season.
ReplyDeleteJordan James was clearly the RB2 behind Christian McCaffrey
ReplyDeleteHe had one cut that was so nasty — he cooked the DBs ankles so bad it took him to the turf
James has the potential to carve out a nice role for himself.
Reports have also said that Black looked excellent too. It would be nice to have 3 productive RBs
DeleteGreat to finally have some football again! Sounds like the offense was pretty good today. Stribling apparently looked good, which is great to hear.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet it is!
DeleteI'm excited for Brock to have a real man to throw to now at X.
ReplyDeleteYup. And welcome back Scooter.
ReplyDeleteThe best news I heard out of camp today is both Cohn and Krueger said that CMC looks far more fast and explosive than last year. If CMC can get back to his 2023 level it could be what it takes for them to beat Seattle and L.A.
