Injury bug still lingering on. Can't help but laugh at the irony.
ReplyDeleteNiners are holding a news conference at 11 today. GM John Lynch is expected to field the questions there.
DeletePrayers up! Hope the coach is alright.
ReplyDeleteCoach is in concussion protocol.
DeleteYikes! Looks like he also sustained a broken hand!👀😱
DeleteThe 49ers placed the following on the active/PUP list at the opening of training camp today:
ReplyDeleteTE George Kittle (Achilles)
DE Mykel Williams (ACL)
RB Isaac Guerendo (pec)
DT Alfred Collins (shoulder)
The 49ers released DT Evan Anderson.
To bad about Anderson. I thought he showed some real promise at times.
ReplyDeleteLikely victim of the numbers game Cubus.
DeleteWhat's your take on why we haven't signed an available edge rusher. I do not believe that our current stable of DEs can compete with either the Rams or the Squawks. Some say we are likely to sign one before the trade line, but I don't see the utility of that. A number of games have already been played (and maybe lost because we didn't have enough good DEs) and it would take any newly signed DE some time to get into the swing of things (just like it took Bosa several years back).
DeleteLikely want to see what they have in Height. Wouldn't surprise me if they had a deal in principle with a player like a Joey Bosa contingent on that assessment.
DeleteThe 49ers signed TE Tanner McLachlan and waived TE Khalil Dinkins from the non-football injury list, per John Lynch. McLachlan was a 6th rd pick in 2024. Only been active for 2 games up to this point. Profiles as a hybrid move TE.
ReplyDeleteI think with the release of Khalil Dinkins, our already thin TE roster gets worse. Kittle is opening on PUP, hard to run camp with just 2 TEs who know the system.
DeleteHave to get one more TE, unless they consider Juice a TE instead of RB.
TE is one of the utensils in his Swiss army knife.
