Keeping Track
At noon EST tomorrow, free agents may begin agreeing to contract terms with teams (also known as the legal tampering period). This period lasts until Wednesday, when players can officially sign their deals. During the two-day period, each club may conduct one call of no longer than one hour with no more than five free agents. The player’s agent must participate in the call.

The Rams are paying McDuffie $124 million over 4 years and includes $100 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
ReplyDeleteFrom a financial standpoint, the $100 million guarantee is a significant risk given that McDuffie ended the 2025 season on IR with a knee injury.
Anyone else think that is INSANE?
McDuffie's can play in/out, run/pass, zone/man, blitz. Compare that to Sauce Gardner who forces your defense to play a certain style, McDuffie's versatility is precisely why he's so expensive.
DeleteNot insane at all. They've added an all pro CB that is still only 25 and paid him accordingly.
DeleteFortunately, we've never needed to pay a DB that kind of money to be successful.
DeleteI think the real question mark is whether he's as good as advertised. I can't help but feel he's a little overrated, especially on the outside.
DeleteYou said it yourself Scooter. "Not insane at all. They've added an all pro CB that is still only 25 and paid him accordingly".
DeleteBased on that, you gotta ask yourself, why didn't KC pay the man?
BETTER QUESTION:
DeleteCAN HE PLAY ON ONE LEG?
After the way Andy fleeced us on Ford with his back, I'd never do business with them again.
DeleteHe didn't tear a ligament did he? I think you're injury concerns around him are much ado about nothing, GEEP.
DeleteRazor, yeah, KC are a weird case though in that they aren't too worried letting good players go. They trust their ability to replace them.
But it does tell me they didn't see him as indispensable.
Scooter
Delete"He didn't tear a ligament did he?" No, he didn't.
He did however, miss the last 4 games of the 2025 season, so we don't know how bad the injury to his knee was, or how many games he would have missed had the injury occured
mid season!
ReplyDelete-60 of 90 roster spots filled
-7 picks in 2026 NFL Draft
-$293m in 2026 liabilities
-Between $35m and $45m in 2026 salary-cap space (Give or take)
-10-15 spots on a projected 53-man roster up for grabs
I have a feeling we will add 1-2 starters, but will continue adding mid-level starters in the 2nd wave of free agency.

Alec Pierce resigned by Colts. 4 year $114M.
ReplyDeleteOne FA WR off the board.
Ballard has more lives than a cat!
DeleteYep.... we can file Ballard's Colts tenure under the section "Crazy but True".
DeleteDude is on his 4th HC and has used 13 Starting QBs in his 10 year tenure.... all without winning a Division title in the "worst division in football" IMO.
This has gotta be his last year if he doesn't win at least a Division title.
Rams signing one more CB from KC.
ReplyDeleteCB Jaylen Watson Signing a three-year, $51 million deal with $34 million guaranteed. (Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo)
According to reports. Seattle RB and SB MVP Kenney Walker III has joined the Chiefs. Hopefully, that will put a dent in the Seahawks armor.
ReplyDelete$27M dollars for Linderbaum!!!!!!!!! Are you freaking kidding me? Oh, Jake Brendel, I love you more than ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBrendel is fine unless they are playing Seahawks, Rams, Texans, or any other great defensive lines.
DeletePlayed fine against them when we had a complete team week 1.
DeleteWelcome Mike Evans.
ReplyDeleteSorry guys but $27M is LT money. You don't pay that for a center. Just draft one this year.
