Brett Toth

Former Eagles OL Brett Toth has agreed to terms with the 49ers on a 1-year deal. A versatile lineman, the 29-year-old played 363 snaps at center and guard, allowing 2 sacks and 13 pressures in 2025.

  1. 49ers add another versatile vet OL with starting experience to provide depth. I expect Toth will compete for the starting LG job, but ultimately is here to be the backup at all 3 IOL spots.

  2. 199 snaps at LG last year and 164 at center. I'd say he's the favorite to win the LG job right now.

  3. I like the idea of trading for Osa Odighizuwa. Wonder what Dallas will want for him?

    1. Why only a 4th? I mean, I'd love to get him for that, but I think I'd be willing to go higher. He's good as a penetratinginterior guy, still pretty young, and 3 more years on his deal at a pretty reasonable price.

  4. So far the 49ers have signed 1 starter and 3 pretty good depth pieces. Hopefully they still have at least 1 more A level signing and or trade.

    1. Need to find a 3t penetrator and then draft an OLB that can drop into coverage and rush the passer.

    2. Ummm... so who is the 3t you see them going for if you don't like Odighizuwa for anything more than 4th rounder?

    3. I think a 4th is fair. We'll see what he ends up going for.

    4. I think a 4th + a player might get it done. Cowboys need CBs and LBs, so maybe Green or Winters could go the other way.

    5. With the 9ers re-signing linebacker Garret Wallow to a one-year deal, (per NFL Insider Jordan Schultz) that would make Green or
      Winters a possibility.

  5. Jordan Eliot is signing with Tennessee.

  6. After watching some analysis of Toth, I've got a sneaky suspicion he might end up more than a backup. Came into the NFL as an OT and has sufficient athleticism that he got tried there to start his career. Looked good on the move playing at LG and C last season. 49ers zone scheme probably suits him better than the Eagles scheme.

    1. I’ve read that in Philly it was thought that his best position was center.

  7. "Everything that I do represents the Army and what they instilled in me," Toth said in 2019. "I've got to carry that. It's a brand on me."

    I like this guy already.

Definitely smart enough to play center if need be.

  8. Ravens change their mind on Crosby and immediately sign Trey Hendrickson. Interesting!

  9. Is it possible that after the Ravens nullified the Cosby deal, his contract demands could take a financial hit thereby giving other teams a better shot at signing him?

    1. I don't think anyone wants to spend what it will take to get Crosby.

When you look at the lack of priority for edge by SF, it tells me they're going to draft one early. Now that they've widened their criteria from big DE to OLB, they've got options in a good draft for the position.

  10. If the 49ers end up signing their 3t penetrator I think Round 1 could shift to OT followed by edge. Round 3 is where they might target that big bodied X WR to be Evans' understudy. Round 4 is where they could attack Center/S/TE.

  11. 49ers unrestricted free agents who remain unsigned:

    OL Ben Bartch
    OL Spencer Burford
    DL Clelin Ferrell
    DL Kevin Givens
    LB Luke Gifford
    DL Yetur Gross-Matos
    OL Matt Hennessy
    WR Jauan Jennings
    P Thomas Morstead
    S Jason Pinnock
    RB Brian Robinson Jr.
    LB Curtis Robinson
    RB Patrick Taylor Jr.
    WR Trent Taylor

    1. I think they should resign Ferrell and Gross-Matos if they can get them at the vet minimum. If they can get JJ for 15 mill or less then sign him. JJ and Evans in the red zone would be an unstoppable combination.

    2. Yep, if JJ remains unsigned I'd be seeing if he wants to come back on a short term deal. But I'd be looking at more the $8m-$10m range.

  12. Keyron Crawford, Edge, Auburn
    Height: 6-4
    Weight: 253
    Arm Length: 32 inches
    Hand Size: 9
    Wingspan: 79 1/8
    Birthdate: 10/17/03 (turns 23 as a rookie)

Under the radar thus far but outperformed Faulk in every pass rushing metric. Played the Buck position which rushes and drops into coverage. He's twitchy and on the ascension. Round 3

  13. The 49ers have signed RB Patrick Taylor to a contract extension, per Equity Sports.

  14. I do think it's kind of ironic the 49ers have been linked to John Franklin-Myers in FA as well as Jalen Carter and Osa Odighizuwa in trade, a year after releasing Maliek Collins who was a very similar player and put up similar production metrics last year.

  15. Per source, the 49ers and TE Jake Tonges have struck a two-year deal worth $8M overall and $5.5M guaranteed. Tonges, who filled in well for George Kittle last season, had been a restricted free agent.

  16. The 49ers have tendered RFA defensive end Sam Okuayinonu – one year for $3.546 million.

  17. Osa Odighizuwa for the 49ers 3rd rounder is a nice bit of business.

    2. Evans and now Odighizuwa should cover some well needed areas. The TW situation should be a big focus and I'm waiting how the Aiyuk fallout ends.
