The calculated market value for Ravens C Tyler Linderbaum in free agency is $17.7M per year, per Sportrac with the market value at four-year, $70.9M.
ReplyDeleteHe'll get more than that. He'll be thr highest paid center in the NFL... until the next top center gets paid.
DeleteTCU WR Eric McAlister (6-3, 205):
ReplyDelete🟪Boise State transfer made 22 starts & 1st Team All-Big 12
🟪YPC in 4 years: 23.5, 18.6, 19.5, 18.5
🟪Uses his size after the catch & to snatch the ball with good body control
🟪Zero drops & 10 TD in 2025
Razor,
DeleteI believe that McAlister is going to flash big at the combine. 6' 3" at 206 lbs would be an immediate upgrade at WR. Do you think he makes it to the 2nd rd?
I got him in that 3rd/4th round range.
DeleteHe may be a steal in that draft range. Hopefully the 49ers have an eye on him.
DeleteI'd be surprised if he goes before day 3, but I think he'll be pretty highly sought on day 3.

DeleteOmar Cooper WR Indiana:
The issue with his HC, Curt Cignetti, openly questioning Cooper's inconsistency and dependability at the end of 2024 season, was after Cooper was moved from outside X to slot and he was having trouble adjusting. Cooper felt he was being asked to sacrifice his career to help Cignetti win games.
After a closed door meeting, they worked out an agreement
and the rest is history......
I like Cooper and Sarratt. I just worry about their lack of route diversity.
DeleteGeorgia Tech CB Ahmari Harvey (5-11, 179) will violently knock the hell out of you
ReplyDelete🐝26 starts gave a great Zone feel to pass off assignments
🐝2nd lowest catch rate allowed of ACC CBs (45.5%)
🐝Project more slot & blitzes
🐝Dawg in Press & high points ball with strong hands
Can't help but comment on the NBC pre-game show and the network stationing a boat outside Oracle Park on the Bay -- Yes, Oracle Park --
ReplyDeletefor their coverage. If anything says and shows what a mistake it was to leave San Francisco and locate Levis in Santa Clara, it's this. Yes, I understand all the reasons why it had to be done. But still what a shame.
Newsom- word is he wouldn't answer John York's phone calls....... I suspect Willie Brown would've gotten it done- Hunters Point had ample room and access to 101- regardless of the incentives to move south. Unfortunate- a lot of charm left the 49ers in the transition...... same for the Warriors ( I did 3 yrs w Dubs and haven't been to Chase yet)
DeleteJaylen Watson and Alontae Taylor are 2 F/A CB's I'd have interest in.
ReplyDeleteWatson is s good option.
DeleteZierlein compared Denzel Boston to Puka Nacua and gave him a 6.40 grade, which is a pretty high grade from the conservative and very experienced scout.
ReplyDeleteAnd if the 49ers draft him, that's exactly what I hope he'll turn into. But personally I don't see that from Boston.
DeleteGraded Aiyuk at 6.38 and compared him to Robert Woods.
DeleteHe has his hits and misses, just like every draft analyst/ expert.
DeleteHe's made me a shit ton of money on Defensive Rookie of the Years twice in a row. Last year with Verse and this year with Schwesinger. He's hit more than he's missed defensively.
DeleteBrenen Thompson's got the speed, but can he do what Cowing can't and that's stay on the field.
ReplyDeleteMan watching this SB makes me want a dominant defense. I hope we put a big focus on defense in free agency and again in the draft.
ReplyDeleteI agree. We really need an edge. With shanahan and Purdy I’m not sure we need much beyond another good receiver on offense.
DeleteGood year to need one.
DeleteAnother edge, a healthy Bosa and Warner, and hopefully Williams, Collins and West can make a good year 2 leap and I think we can get there. What I wouldn’t give to have a Ronnie Lot type of db back there too.
DeleteXavier Nwankpa, S, Iowa is a player I'd take a flyer on in Round 5.
DeleteRazor
DeleteXavier Nwankpa's physical profile and skill set make him a strong fit for Morris' "STAR" position (a hybrid S, NB, LB roll) in the 9er defense in the 5th Rd # 171. He will likely require some development to handle the position's high-level for coverage demands. He also fill a 9er need for a DB with some speed (40 = 4.39s)
* Nwankpa is my 2nd choice. Zakee Wheatley, S Penn St. in
the 3rd Rd is my 1st choice.
Yea I really like Wheatley too.
DeleteWatching these CB's of Seattle reinforces the need for a true X WR with elite hands that can go up and get the football.
ReplyDeleteAnyone specific? Draft or free agency? My concern with the draft is Shanahan’s reluctance to trust/play young wide receivers so by the time they do get much playing time, they are close to the end of their rookie contract. I’m hoping we go defense again in round 1 and look for an X receiver in free agency or via trade.
DeleteDenzel Boston
DeleteSeattle is going to be a tough win for the 49ers over the next few years if the Seahawks can keep their defense intact. The 49ers will need a consistent potent offense to give Seattle a formidable run for the division.
ReplyDeleteThe key to unlocking Seattle's defense is to have success running the football so their safeties have to come down, otherwise getting explosives on them is nearly impossible.
DeleteThey have a pretty extensive list of To Do's in the offseason- they do have some $ tho
DeleteThe biggest "To Do" list is to remain healthy and they'll be right in the mix.
DeleteYup^
ReplyDeleteIf the 49ers don't improve their O line big time this off season, I think they could lose twice to Sea by at least 21 points next year
ReplyDeleteThey got an opening at LG.
DeleteI didn't like Will Campbell as an OT in the draft. He makes Mike McGlinchey look like Trent Williams.
Anyone that listened to what Shanahan said at the SB about how you need to attack the Seahawks should know how vital Shanahan believes being able to run the ball against them is.
Delete49ers haven't run the ball consistently well for two years.
Seems unlikely they won't look to address it.
While I agree. I think they need to get away from the wide zone against that team until they can force them into base looks. That means you need some people movers up front.
DeleteTo do that they need to stop looking for explosives in the run game and start looking just to steadily get 4 yards.
Shoup,
DeleteI think you are describing Jordan James to a T. I have been saying this for about 3 years now, I would like to see CMC filling the Deebo wide back role. Carrying the ball 6 to 10 times a game while being targeted another 6 to 10 times in the air. Let J. James or a 26 draft pick be the bell cow. Either way they need an O line that can consistently open holes. Running the ball well will make the play action passes that much more effective. I have not been the biggest BP fan but I do believe that if they can give him a clean pocket (as well as WRs that can get separation like Aiyuk used to do) He can be a SB winning QB.
OC,
DeleteYou and I are largely in agreement. I don't see Brock as being elite (there are about 4 of those guys) but he also isn't someone who shrinks. And you can win SB's with those guys.
That said what we are in agreement with is the Oline. It may grade out well and be average but it doesn't matchup with the defenses SF needs to beat. They don't even need to dominate upfront but they need guys that can consistently displace in double teams. When they can do that teams cant sit back in light boxes. That alone opens up the passing game.
If they can do that and one wr1 they will move the ball against Seattle.
Brock Purdy IS "elite" in the pocket.
DeleteIt’s crazy to say Purdy isn’t elite. Look at his stats and look at what he accomplished this year with very diminished help.
DeleteOpps that post is mine
DeleteElite leadership, elite reactionary quickness and elite processor.
DeleteAre the 49ers like KS and JL are saying going to hang on to M. Jones or is it just the beginning of lying season. Are they just trying to drive the price up. I can see good reasons for either scenario. Drive the price up to a 1st and continue the rebuild with 2 1st round picks. Hold on to him as insurance for an oft injured BP and possibly trade him at the trade deadline. Hold on to him and get a 3rd round comp pick. I would certainly hold on to him if they don't intend on up grading the O line in a big way this off season. If they don't improve the O line I see BP playing 8 games or less next year.
ReplyDeletePurdy got hurt running with a turf toe injury. Wasn't a result of poor OL play.
DeleteOC, every team has a budget and a plan. It would be great to have elite players at all positions but that’s not possible. It should be clear by now that they don’t prioritize the interior of the offensive line and instead spend their money and picks in more productive areas. Hopefully they can upgrade the left guard position this year but i don’t see them doing much else on the line. Some have suggested to draft a left tackle who would play guard until Trent retires.
DeleteDrafting OL in Round 1 isn't the panacea some think it is.

Niners are the 12th team ever to win in Week 1 vs the team that went on to win the Super Bowl.
ReplyDeleteIt's the last game against Seattle that I'd be concerned about. Seattle beat the 49ers at every position in that game. I certainly hope that the 49ers use that last game against Seattle as a blueprint to build the type of team that can eventually leapfrog them.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Delete"Seattle beat the 49ers at every position". No Bosa, no Warner, no Kittle, no Mykel. The only thing keeping the 49ers from competing with Seattle is HEALTH!!
DeleteNo Aiyuk and no Pearsall.
DeleteBtw, I love a good redemption story. Congratulations to Sam Darnold on enduring a hard climb to the top.
ReplyDeleteGood for him. Despite playing for bad teams and bad coaches in his is first 2 stops, he just needed the opportunity to learn under a great coach and system like the Niners. It’s surprising to me that other good teams don’t do what the niners have done the past 2 years. It reminds me of the misery that Alex went through until Harbaugh arrived.
Delete"he just needed the opportunity to learn under a great coach and system like the Niners."
DeleteExactly!
In the final analysis what I see is a 41-6 wrecking ball of a loss, not beating the Seahawks in the first game of the season. Maybe there's one position that the 49ers were better at in that game: field goal kicker.
ReplyDeleteLmao, maybe if they stayed healthy, they'd be champs! In the first game Purdy injured his toe and still finished them!
ReplyDeleteAt my age, "maybe's and if's" and all the fluff that comes with them don't matter much. My only focus now is what the 49ers will need to do to supercede Seattle. Yes, when I consider how the 49ers finished with 12 wins and make the post season is a great feat. But the big elephant in the room has become the Seahawks going forward. FA and draft doesn't allow me to look back it forces me to look forward.
DeleteDon't be too hard on yourself. The 49ers were the third-best team in the NFC West — and also maybe the entire league, and that was without Bosa, Mykel, Warner, a lot of Kittle and Aiyuk!!
DeleteI'm never hard on myself these days. If anything, perhaps I relax too much, lol. I've been a 49ers fan since I was a snot-nose kid going to Kezar Stadium in the 60's. Which allows me to appreciate the past, but has taught me to always look forward in improving in the new season.. I've learned how to compartimentalize the good and the bad seasons. You are entitled to your opinion, but that's far from being hard on myself.
DeleteThe only thing the 49ers need to do to beat Seattle is stay healthy.
DeleteThe Seahawks and the Texans have the best defenses in the league. Can Pearsall stay healthy and can Kittle come back to pre-njury production are fair questions. My point being is, how much can the 49ers depend on them going forward? At this time last year the thought process was how vital the 2025 draft was going to be. Now, Seattle's ascension makes this upcoming draft and FA even more essential if they are to compete in their own division. At the moment the 49ers don't need a complete overhaul. But a good tune-up is in order.
DeleteFor me the essential component to compete for SB's is health. We have the coaching staff and the QB, and that's half the battle.
DeleteI, agree with staying healthy. But, for me it's important to draft and develop the right players to ensure that the team continues to compete long after Kittle, T. Williams, Juice, Warner and CMC reach their twilight years which could begin sooner than later. So far, the verdict is still not clear on DE, OL, LB, DT, and WR. This makes it very essential for me.
DeleteYea, replacing/developing HOF players is easier said than done but for this past season, the 49ers exceeded my expectations. The future is very bright for this team IF they can find the formula of health for 20 weeks.
DeleteYes, sir.

ReplyDeleteKyle Shanahan has as many or more playoff wins than SEVEN teams have since the start of the Super Bowl! Still needs to get a ring but that doesn't discount the incredible success the 49ers have had since he was hired.
ReplyDeleteAfter the Chip Kelly and Jim Tomsula dumpster fire seasons. The Shanahan/Lynch 49ers revival story has been amazing.
