  2. It's not a great list of center options this year.

  5. The Seahawks are hiring 49ers tight ends coach Brian Fleury as their OC, per Pelissero.

I've never seen a team get pilfered from as consistently as Shanahan's.

    1. Not since the Walsh/Seifert years and it would have been worse back then if Eddie D wasn't paying the 49ers assistants so much

  6. More value should be placed on route running and ball skills (hands and tracking) than speed. The All-Pros are typically elite in those areas. The best Wide Receivers in the NFL generally run 40 times in the 4.5+range.

  10. Logan would be interesting if you were planning on sitting him for a year a lot of good traits to work with... Though admittedly I haven't seen him much on film.

    1. Yeah, Jones has the best physical tools to work with.

My main problem with the center options in the draft is that there's a pretty clear correlation between good NFL centers and being pretty dominant college players that get drafted high. A lot of the top centres of the past 10-15 years were top 60 picks. And not many really good ones that come from day 3 or later - with those that have panned out usually being elite athletes for the position like Kelce and Brewer, that fell due to size concerns. Even Brendel, while more decent than really good, falls into the elite athlete for the position category.

I don't really see any top 60 guys in this draft class. Jones at least interests me from an athletic point of view.

  11. Brendel's job is mental torture. He's so much better than "decent".

    1. You really do believe everything the team tells you.

If he's that good, why is he paid so low? When all the guys they want to keep get pay raises when performance surpasses contract, how come he's still paid this way? Almost seems like they're paying him how they value him...
