CMC recently posted a shoutout to Upton Stout, highlighting him as a player who has stepped up and demonstrated great leadership this season. The camaraderie is strong, with Stout himself mentioning how much fun it is to "jell with everybody" and make plays with his teammates. This kind of internal praise from veteran leaders like CMC really speaks volumes about the positive team culture. I understand the feeling some may have after the losses of Bosa and Warner, however you cannot underestimate the power of one of the tightest locker rooms in the league. Stay strong faithful, this team is destined for great things!

Chris Russo says the 49ers are one of the scariest teams in the NFL:
ReplyDelete“Kyle Shanahan is the second best coach in football. Sean McVay is one and he’s two. I don’t think there’s any question about it. He is that good. Shanahan wins with Mac Jones... San Francisco does not get enough respect. Be careful.”
Here are the teams in the NFL most impacted by injuries this season (thru Week 13):
ReplyDelete1. 49ers, 206 games missed
2. Cardinals, 177 games missed
3. Bengals, 115 games missed
4. Commanders, 143 games missed
Team #1 is 9-4, while Teams #2-4 are 9-27.
Without playing a game the Niners will move to the sixth slot. I am hoping for a Bear-Packer split, a Seattle or Lions win over the Rams, the Niners win out. Not sure who has the tie breaker if Niners and Eagles tied for number one.
ReplyDeleteThe Path To The #1 Seed:
Delete49ers beat Titans
Packers beat Bears, lose to Broncos
Seattle beats Falcons, loses to Colts
Rams beat Cardinals, lose to Lions
Eagles beat Chargers, Raiders
Bears lose to Packers, beat Browns
The Packers are ahead of us where do they lose a game? Not sure what the Eagles beating the Chargers and Raiders mean. I must be missing something. Now that's not unusual.
DeletePackers lose to Broncos. Eagles all about final record.
Deleteok got ya
DeleteShanahan and his 49ers have 2 QBs in the TOP 10 in Adjusted EPA/play + PFF Blend through Week 13 🤯🤯
ReplyDeleteWhen Shanahan gets in the playoffs he's always made it to the NFC Championship game. Think about that for a minute. I'm not aware of any other HC with that statistic. Incredible!
ReplyDeletePenalties: Who Benefits?
ReplyDeleteRams: +285 penalty yard advantage 1st
Bears: ‑287 penalty yard disadvantage 32nd
49ers 9th at +69
The top NFL defenses in Week 13, according to PFSN's Defense Impact Metric ⤵
ReplyDelete95.2 | Seattle Seahawks
89.5 | Jacksonville Jaguars
84.7 | San Francisco 49ers
83.5 | Cincinnati Bengals
82.1 | New Orleans Saints
81.8 | Buffalo Bills
79.4 | Minnesota Vikings
79.3 | New England
Total Points Saved, CB/S, 2025, per SIS:
ReplyDelete1. Nahshon Wright, Bears, 45
2. Deommodore Lenoir, 49ers, 43 (!!)
Ravens and Bears lead the league in explosive rushing plays, while Seahawks and Bills boast the most explosive passing attacks.
ReplyDeleteRandom stat of the day: The non WR or TE with the most receptions on throws of 20+ air yards since 2017:
ReplyDelete49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk
He has 12 such catches for 406 yards and 3 TDs. If you expand to include TEs, he ranks T-19th in that span.
49ers defense ranks #13 in points per drive allowed at 2.06.
ReplyDeleteThey trail the Packers, Chiefs and Vikings who are slightly ahead of them. Bendy but unbreakable Saleh defense.
Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson with 5 forced fumbles this year. Wow!
ReplyDeleteKickoff Returns:
ReplyDeleteJets lead the league in kickoff returns - 16.7% reach at least the 40-yard line, plus 1 TD.
San Francisco ranks 2nd, averaging a drive start at their own 34.4-yard line.
Interesting The Jets the team that got rid of Boyer. The 49ers the team that signed Boyer.
DeleteThe players deserve a lot of credit for how they've integrated young and old, and for how they've turned up to play most weeks despite the injuries and lack of experience.
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of praise for the coaches, deservedly so, but it's the players that have to turn up on the field.
"The defensive line is the heart of any successful defense, tasked with both disrupting the opposing quarterback with a pass rush and shutting down rushing attacks at the line of scrimmage.
ReplyDeleteElite defensive lines can change the course of a game by applying pressure, forcing hurried throws and creating turnovers while also stifling run plays to control the tempo." PFF
Niners have the 28th best defensive line, it's a wonder that they are 9-4. To do good in the playoffs they must improve immensely.
YGM's return will help with pass rush. Sam O as well. The player I'm looking to maybe take that next step is Renardo Green. Even if he can just get his game consistency to where it needs to be would be a big boost.
DeleteHard to be a consistently good CB without the pass rush consistently disrupting timing of the QB.
DeleteLenoir hasn't seemed to miss a beat.
DeleteLenoir has had his own ups and downs this year, but yes, overall been good.
DeleteFor a young CB playing without a pass rush of any note, Green has been pretty solid for the most part too.
Well he got benched twice that I know about this season. He has his ups and downs. What I'm asking for is consistency and I have faith he'll get there.
DeleteBenched? I don't recall that. I know he sat out of portions of some games after getting hurt/ banged up.
DeleteOh wait, he did get benched a series against the Cards for disciplinary reasons. Not because of poor play.
DeleteAfter he gave up the TD to McMillan, Luter replaced him.
DeleteI don't recall that.
DeleteEDGE Kenyatta Jackson Jr. Ohio St. vs. OT Carter Smith Indiana is your big 10 championship game matchup to keep an eye on.
ReplyDeleteGood looking out, Razor. I'm very interested in that match-up. This game may come down to who wins this individual battle.
DeleteA late Rd 2 - early Rd 3 edge rusher that hasn't attracted much attention.
DeleteGabe Jacas EDGE Illinois. 6'3" X 270. He has 11 sacks
Is Kendricks starting at Mike against the Titans? Communication upgrade over Bethune and better tackler than Robinson. Or will he be used situationally in obvious passing downs?
ReplyDeleteI think Kendricks wants a ring. Only reason he'd be coming out now. He might also want to get back into Shanahan's good graces.
NFL Missed Tackle Rates:
ReplyDelete1. LAR 5.8%
2. NE
3. DET
4. KC
5. SF 7.5%
fNFL QB Sacks vs. Pressures:
ReplyDeleteBrock Purdy: best pressure-to-sack ratio in the NFL
Lamar Jackson & Josh Allen: shockingly poor at escaping pressure this year
Hard to believe that for as important as CMC has been this year, he's currently on pace for a career low in yards per carry for a season.
ReplyDeleteI believe there are 2 reasons for this stat. #1 plays that go for big losses. There seems to be at least 4 plays every game where he loses 3 to 6 yards. The O line is to blame for these plays. #2 He has lost that 5th gear he used to have in the open field. He hasn't had those long break away runs
DeleteWouldn't have anything to do with the games Kittle missed.
DeleteIf I am a defense and I want to stop the Niners, stop CMC and you have slowed/stopped the Niners.
DeleteOnly 5 QBs have more than 15 QB designed runs, removing sneaks: Justin Fields (32), Jaxson Dart (27), Marcus Mariota (24), Jalen Hurts (20), Lamar Jackson (19).
ReplyDeleteNFL QB Sneak Conversions:
ReplyDeletePHI 16/25
SF 14/17
LAC 12/14
IND 12/14
BUF 11/14
Top 3 NFL tackles by run-blocking grade (PFF):
ReplyDelete1. Penei Sewell, Lions (playing now)
2. Colton McKivitz, 49ers
3. Trent Williams, 49ers
Caleb Banks, DT, Florida is a 6'6 330 3t that's likely available at the end of Round 1. One to keep an eye on at the Senior bowl as he missed most of the season with injury.
ReplyDeleteRazor
DeleteBanks is a DT that Kocurek could work with to motivate and develop. The knock on him is his production doesn't match physical traits. Shows tantalizing flashes, but undermined by technical inconsistencies.
This week - if CHI loses to GB - SF slides into the 6th spot with a .5 game lead(tie-breaker) over the Bears. If GB loses to CHI - SF slides into the 6th spot with a .5 game lead on GB.
ReplyDeleteKind of cool that Niners move up one slot and don't even play a game to move up.

ReplyDelete90.0 | Josh Allen, BUF
88.6 | Drake Maye, NE
87.9 | Jordan Love, GB

81.4 | Patrick Mahomes, KC
81.0 | Matthew Stafford, LAR
80.8 | Jared Goff, DET
The 49ers are 44-19 coming off a bye week, under Kyle Shanahan.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of bye weeks
DeleteCumulative following bye weeks.
DeleteOhhhh, right. So all games in a season that come after the bye. Makes a lot more sense!
DeleteThankfully they were good before the bye this year too!
In 1993 the NFL tried a two weeks bye. That experiment only lasted one season.

ReplyDelete49ers rush EPA w/o Kittle: #27
49ers rush EPA w/ Kittle: #8
The 49ers blitzed just once on Sunday (per FTN) - their lowest single-game total (at least) since Kyle Shanahan took over.
ReplyDeleteThe top NFL offensive linemen this season heading into Week 14, according to PFSN's OL Impact Metric ⤵
ReplyDelete94.0 | Ryan Neuzil, C | ATL
91.9 | Creed Humphrey, C | KC
91.9 | Colton McKivitz, OT | SF
91.7 | Penei Sewell, OT | DET
89.3 | Chris Lindstrom, G | ATL
89.0 | Ed Ingram, G | HOU
88.8 | Andrew Thomas, OT | NYG
88.7 | Damien Lewis, G | CAR
87.8 | Trent Williams. OT | SF
87.7 | Garett Bolles, OT | DEN
87.6 | Tyler Booker, OG | DAL
I wonder if McKivitz on his current trajectory could replace Williams at LT in '27. He'd be 31 and on the final year of his current deal, which would make him a candidate for another team friendly extension.
I like him at RT, so would prefer to keep him there
DeleteBeen looking at DT prospects and have to say I don't really love what's going to be available in the 2026 draft. Good thing they took two this year.
ReplyDeleteOne guy I'd consider is Mateen Ibirogba. Will give them some pass rush juice on the interior. But I wouldn't be surprised if he goes earlier than he's currently projected to - weak class for disruptive DTs will likely elevate his stock.
Caleb Banks is a DT to keep an eye on at the Senior Bowl. 1st Round talent coming off injury.
DeleteYeah, he moves really well for his size and is strong. Obviously a good athlete. But I think Ibirogba is more consistently disruptive. Since they already have Collins and West, I'm more interested in a disruptive type of DT.
DeleteTbh, this might be a year where it's a better idea to try and add a DT in FA.
I also think Banks goes at least a full round earlier than Ibirogba. 49ers probably need to use their 1st round pick to get Banks.

87.0 | Jake Brendel, SF
86.8 | Cooper Beebe, DAL
86.3 | Aaron Brewer, MIA
85.2 | Tanor Bortolini, IND
No wonder 49reasons has delusional thoughts on the Niners, he still visits the Cohn ship that sunk many years ago. Just for the mere fact you go to Cohn's blog places you in the misinformed category of which there is no way out. Stupid breeds stupid.
ReplyDelete"They know they don't have a chance if the 49ers get the run game going. And so, I think they dedicate a lot of resources to that." Lynch
ReplyDeleteI also agree with that, with that being said air travel should be easier.
Interesting comments by Lynch. Now that Purdy is back healthy I doubt the opponents will dedicate as much against the run. I think with Purdy on the field, for defenses it’s damned if you do damned if you don’t.
DeleteGeorgia State WR Ted Hurst (Day 3) 10 passes for 165 yards and a TD and was 4 for 4 in contested situations against Coastal Carolina.
ReplyDeleteLike I said a few weeks ago. I hated to see Indiana's Fernando Mendoza leave the Cal Bears last year. But he made the best choice for his future. Beating Ohio St. may have just made him the Heisman Trophy winner.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great game and as a Michigan fan it was great to see that other team loose.
DeleteSince 2023, Mendoza has 53 total TDs (43 passing, 10 rushing) and only 1 INT in the red zone.
DeleteWas the Cal coaching staff so bad that a future Heisman trophy winner could look so average at Cal?
DeleteI agree. It was a great game by two powerful teams.
ReplyDeleteRiley Nowakowski might just be the replacement for Juice.
ReplyDeleteHighway robbery!!!!! Notre Dame not included in the college football playoffs.
ReplyDeleteLol!
DeleteOldCoach
DeleteNotre Dame lost to Miami 27-24 in their season opener. The Miami head-to-head victory determined the final rankings, as both teams finished with 10-2 records.
Notre Dame has withdrawn from Bowl consideration as they should.
DeleteTwo problems with N.D. not making the playoffs. #1 the system. J. Madison and Tulane don't belong in before N.D. #2 Alabama a 3 loss team that got destroyed in the SEC championship game does not belong in the playoffs before N.D. It is pure and simple SEC favoritism.
DeleteSystem is flawed. Born and raised a Notre Dame fan. I wouldn't wanna play 'em next year.
DeleteThe system is working exactly as intended - to reward conferences and punish independents. As a Michigan fan, I'm quite neutral on whether Notre Dame plays in a bowl game or not. Must suck for the graduating seniors, though.
DeleteThe 9er's playoff chances are improving! The 9ers will move from 7th to 6th place with either the Packers or Bears losing. After watching the Jaguars beat the Colts 36 to 13, the Colts look spent. The 9ers should defeat the Colts giving us an 11W - 4L record! That leaves the 9ers playing the Bears and Seattle at Levi to close out the season.
ReplyDelete11 wins should get the the 9ers into the playoffs and beating Seattle
at home is possible.
Currently the Hawks are #1 in the NFC. Rams fall to five. Bears slip to two. Rams and Bears have yet to play.
ReplyDeleteUnder
ReplyDeleteDoes that include TB losing to the Saints 24 to 20 today? Also, the Rams don't play the bears this season, but the Rams do play Seattle on Thur Dec 18th at Seattle.
I expect the standings to continue to fluctuate throughout the day. It's a real interesting final four games for the NFC west division and the entire NFC. There isn't anything set in stone as of yet.
DeleteBears freefall to 7 while the 49ers move to 6.
ReplyDelete👍
DeleteUnder
ReplyDeleteYes, Interesting final four games indeed! So the Packers beat the Bears 28 to 21, dropping the Bears out of 2nd place and into 7th seed for the playoffs...The 9ers move up to 6th seed and play the Bears at Levi on Dec 28th., before playing Seattle on Jan 4th., also at Levi.
Next week Lions visit Rams after that Rams visit Seahawks. I believe the Niners win out. Should give them at least a fifth position possible NFC West championship which could lead to number one in the NFC, yes indeed going to be fun.
DeleteColts QB Daniel Jones suffers a torn right Achilles tendon during Sunday's game against the Jaguars, likely a season-ending injury!
ReplyDeleteWhile no one wants a player to get injured, it does give the 9ers a better chance to win, after all their injuries incurred.
HOFer CHARLES WOODSON on if he believes the 49ers can make a deep playoff run:👇🔥
ReplyDelete“Yeah, I do, just because of the respect I have for Kyle Shanahan and what he’s done… Kyle Shanahan is the Andy Reid without Patrick Mahomes.
He’s taken this team to the playoffs four times… every time he gets to the playoffs, he goes to the [NFC] championship game.
He’s been to two Super Bowls. The problem is, he either runs into Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes.”
If the 49ers get in… Woodson says there’s a real “chance he gets to the championship game.” 🏆🔴
I don't mind people smarter than me thinking like I do, lol!
Jameis Winston, “When the San Francisco 49ers have Kyle Shanahan, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle and Trent Williams, I got a lot of money on them. You can’t sleep on guys like that, because they’ve got Hall of Fame-caliber players.”
ReplyDeleteWinston should probably be a little more careful talking about putting money on games.
DeleteOne of these years I wouldn't mind the 49ers finding themselves in an easy division...
ReplyDeleteSF is one game back of both SEA and LA
ReplyDeleteLA's next 2 games are against DET and SEA
SEA's next 2 games are against IND and LA
SEA beats LA and the 49ers have an opportunity week 18 to secure the best division record and own tie-breakers over both LA and SEA.
Caden Curry, DL, Ohio St., 4th round prospect.
ReplyDeleteThe Titans OL held Myles Garrett to just a 4% pass rush win rate and the 2nd-lowest in his career.🤯
DeleteThe 49ers' losses have come to the Rams, the Texans, the Jaguars, and the Bucs, who have a combined record of 34-18.
ReplyDelete
