  1. Likely fills the role Cowing might have had if he was healthy at best and at worst a cheap roll of the dice.

    1. Looks like Russell Gage has an MCL sprain. Could be that is why they traded for Sky Moore.

But he is the most injured player on the chiefs. Don't know why we keep trading for players with significant injury history.

    2. I thought Gage did that after the trade.

  3. He did have a PR for TD against the Seahawks.

  4. Junior Bergen is probably getting a knock on his door.

  5. I'd keep an eye on the Jets and OT Max Mitchell or OT Carter Warren should they be released.

  6. QB Tanner Mordecai is back on the team and appears to have replaced Nate Sudfeld who was signed earlier in the week, per Maiocco.

  7. The 49ers QB
merry-go-round continues. I had a sense that Mordecai would return, but for how long?

  8. Hearing rumors that Elijah Mitchell will be a cut candidate from the Chiefs.

If so, we should have a look-see.

    1. Mitchell and Wilson on the practice squad would be nice.

  9. Panthers got Kingston at center.👀

  10. Corey Kiner was not claimed by another other team and will revert back to the 49ers IR.

  11. I don't recall a Niner pre-season ever like this. I'd call it a bit wacky, even bizarre.

    1. How ya feeling about the Seahawks? Something tells me we blow them out.

    2. I think I have made how I feel about the 9ers early season pretty clear. I think it is going to be very ugly early. My feelings are based on 2 reasons, injuries and extreme youth and inexperience on D.

    3. Old coach...i feel exactly the opposite with regards to the D. I feel the D will come to play early in the season while the aging O will take time to get its footing....considering the injuries too.

    4. Old coach I think once they can stop the run the D will be fine. Mugeek9er I think the Niners are going to move the ball just fine.

Seattle QB, Sam Darnold has a history of poor performance under pressure! The Key to a 9er win, IMO, is pressuring him.

  12. I think the 49ers should trade for Washington RB Brian Robinson this week. I would give up a 4th round pick for him. They might have to go higher if the Dolphins are in the mix.

  13. Moody he is making me nervous again.

    1. If Greg Joseph is still available the 49ers better have him on speed-dial.
Moody has the leg strength to kick from over 50 yrds. But his confidence level and the yips seem to rise up in key moments. Hopefully, the two big FGs against the raiders will settle his nerves.
      TBD

  15. Last year in May, Andy Reid was in his office where a bullet shattered the glass and hit 15 feet from where he was sitting. They have since installed bullet proof glass. Imagine if he had a losing season!

  16. We just sent a 6th for Brian Robinson.

    2. That's a solid move. I was not comfortable with Guerendo being RB2 going into the season.

    3. It is a great trade....essentially we traded Jordan Mason and got Marques Sigle (draft pick for Mason) and Brian Thompson Jr for 1 year while paying $2.156M of his salary.

  17. The Robinson trade should be a game changer. First of all if CMC can't answer the call for any games he can step into the RB 1 role seamlessly. Second as RB 2 he can take 6 to 10 carries off of CMCs back keeping him fresh. Third it will allow KS to use Guerendo as a gadget player replacing Deebo. After this season they can let him go in free agency scoring a pick and allowing Kiner or James to step into the RB 2 role.

  18. Robinson replaces Taylor who replaced Mason.

    1. For what it's worth, Chapman thinks it will be CMC, Robinson, Guerendo and James.

  19. I like the Robinson trade much more than the Sky Moore trade.

Now, we can still run the ball if CMC and Guerendo go down. We will be much better overall than last year and I'm still sticking to 11-12 wins.

  20. Brian Robinson has 20 career touchdowns. 17 of those touchdowns have come inside the red zone.

  21. For those interested in the financial implications.....as per spotrac

    #49ers Acquire:
    RB Brian Robinson
    2025: $2.156M
    2026: UFA

    #Commanders Acquire:
    2026 6th Round Pick

Washington has retained $1.25M of Robinson's $3.406M salary for 2025, taking on $1.53M of total dead cap this season.

  22. Well, was not expecting that trade! Great move. Likely only a 1 year 49er, but provides great quality and depth to the RB room in 2025. Needed it too, given the injuries they've had.

  23. If NE cuts WR Javon Baker, for their 53 man cut down, the 9ers should try to sign him. Baker is a physical WR known for "my ball" mentality and body control at the catch point. His contested-catch ability would be a valuable asset in the red zone and on 3Rd downs,
    similar to Jauan Jennings
    * Baker's blocking ability has been praised since his college days and would be valued by KS.
    * DOWN SIDE: Stefon Diggs was signed to be the new NE go-to WR and 3Rd Rd pick Kyle Williams provids a field-stretching complement to slot DeMario Douglas.
Baker was in concussion protocol and his long-term future with the NE Patriots unclear.

  24. Another WR prospect the 9ers should look at if he's cut by the Jets, is Malachi Corley. 5'11" X 215, 40 = 4.46s, shuttle =4.08s.and he Benched 355 pounds
    * His versatile, "YAC King" style, speed, and vision align with the 49ers' success in developing playmakers and his play style is similar to Deebo Samuels, making him a low-risk, high-reward target for the team to fill roster holes. He has struggled to make an impact in NY and faces a crowded depth chart. Achange of scenery under the 49ers' offensive scheme could unlock his potential to be a valuable offensive weapon.
    * Signing him would be a low risk - high reward gamble for the 9ers, providing a high reward with little downside if he succeeds.
