Restricted free-agent WR Jauan Jennings is signing a two-year deal with the 49ers worth up to $15.4 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed. The deal was negotiated and confirmed by agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus.

  1. At some point you need to be willing to let depth pieces go. Love Jennings attitude, but just not convinced he's a player they have to keep for that type of money.

    1. Robert Woods is currently getting $7.6m/year. Yikes!

  2. I'm on the other side on this signing. I think the 9ers love this player much more than many of the posters here. If there are cap problems next year and Pearsall and Cowings make great strides this year I believe that they will be able to trade Jennings very easily. I think Jennings could be the next A. Boldin on a good team that would use him as their #2.

    1. Could Jennings signing be a precursor to an Aiyuk trade?

  3. Good for Jauan "Hard Hat" Jennings.

    Signing Jennings tells me either:
    a) The coaches are not blown away by Pearsall and Cowing. And the rookies have a ways to go.
    or
    b) High probability that Danny Gray and Ronnie Bell won't make the roster.

  4. I'm good with it.
If the 49ers were willing to give Jennings a big payday, they feel he's worth it and have grown to appreciate his value on the team. Jennings was one overthrown pass in the SB for securing a 49ers win and possibly being awarded the MVP. He is productive when he gets the ball. Glad the FO sees it that way.

  5. Sounds as if Foerster all but ruled out Puni at center.

  6. Feliciano is the man up if Brendal can't go. Nugent will have to totally wow in TC to have a shot at making the 53 roster, imho. If he can, that would be great.

  7. The fact that Foerster believes Puni can play OT in a pinch after ruling out Burford ever being able to play it tells me that Moore as strictly the LT and Parker as the RT backups aren't certainties. Williams/Banks/Brendel/Feliciano/McKivitz, Puni, Burford, Moore, Parker would be 9 OL on a stacked team. They just might have to ride with 2 QB's this year.

    1. Razor,
Does Allen or Dobbs backup Purdy? And which one might make the PS? Krueg really likes Mordacai and believes he will stick. That would be a longshot, but wasn't Purdy viewed the same way?

    2. They might feel comfortable with Dobbs and Purdy which would allow them to keep an impact player. Puni being able to play RT might allow them to save another roster spot for a player. I'd be shocked if they carried Mordacai on this SB team. Gonna be really tough for any udfa to make the team.

    3. Razor,
I agree but I do see quite a few of them making the PS

  8. CB Rock Ya-Sin was shaken up early in team drills and limped to sideline.

With no Jake Brendel or Jon Feliciano today, #49ers worked Ben Bartch with top unit at center.

  9. Does Bartch have the inside track to win the Center job?
