Seven comp picks and only two original draft positions. Seems like the Niners are showing the way with comp picks.
ReplyDeleteShould be some good players available at the end of round 3.
ReplyDeleteBut we also know the 49ers like to walk to the beat of their own drum. Would not be surprised if at least one of the 49ers picks today is considered a big reach.
Michael Mayer would be my ideal pick, TE to work with Kittle and also for the future.
ReplyDeleteAnd who doesn't want to hear the Halloween theme at first downs and TDs?
Give me LaPorta over Mayer.

ReplyDeleteIf the 49ers are looking for rookie contributors, they may need to move into the mid 2nd to early 3rd to find him. The players mentioned above could fit that bill, but I have my doubts that the 49ers luck out and have one of them slip to the late 3rd rd. I've been touting Isaiah Foskey and Cody Mauch as players worth moving up for. Foskey looks like he could be available in the mid 3rd range, but Mauch will likely be gone in the 2nd rd.
Foskey would be a good pickup, his last two years he basically was a sack a game guy.
DeleteESPN is reporting the 49ers are looking to move up into round 2.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise there. But who for do you think?
DeleteNot sure I'm buying it.
DeleteMayer or Foskey
DeleteThe #49ers picked up the option for WR Brandon Aiyuk
ReplyDeleteGood
DeleteThe #49ers Restructured Christian McCafrrey’s contract to create $8.576M in cap space, per
ReplyDelete@FieldYates
Odd they waited until now to do so... player trade potentially?
DeleteAs in freeing up space for a player trade
Delete$ for Aiyuk?
DeleteWhy do they need $ for Aiyuk?
DeleteDunno, I was asking.
DeleteThere is a part of me very much hoping it is a precursor to a Chase Young addition
DeleteCould be, could be rounding out the roster, in season moves, and draft class. Not sure what to make of it, but I'm not a big Young fan.
DeleteOh they need the cap space at some point. The timing is just really odd.
DeleteMayer off the board, and to LV of all places. Ugh
ReplyDeleteDown goes Foskey to New Orleans
DeleteThat's a good pick, Derek Hall for the Seahawks.
ReplyDeleteChase Young had that Patellar Tendon injury which ended both Richburg's and Cruz's careers. No way in hell I think they'd trade for him after the Ford lesson they learned.
ReplyDeleteDang, I was hoping Riley Moss might fall to the 49ers.
ReplyDelete49ers have traded up to 87
ReplyDeleteJi'Ayir Brown
DeleteWhat you think?
DeleteHe's a playmaker. Seems to be the change the team has been making at safety - going more for guys that will make plays on the ball.
DeleteI didn't love the safeties in this draft, but I get why they take one here. This is about the right range for him.
Cost:
ReplyDelete#102
#164
#222
Interesting that Freeland is still available. The tape wasn't great, but thought that athleticism would entice a team before now.
ReplyDelete49ers are up again
ReplyDeleteOoof. No no no. Terrible pick.
DeleteHere comes the meltdown!
DeleteIt's a terrible pick.
DeleteI know. Prepare for the meltdown, lol
DeleteI like the pick myself. So many games are won and lost with a kicker. As long as he can kick into the endzone on kickoffs and kick 55 yarders consistently, its a good pick if he can do that.
DeleteI'm a fan of Latu. A bit too early imo, but an underrated prospect.
ReplyDeleteAgreed
DeleteGeorge: They must be really sold on McKivitz to draft Latu in the 3rd, or really tired of Woerner.
