Week 16: Washington Commanders vs. San Francisco 49ers

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to gameday live. Washington comes into town needing a win to stay in playoff contention, and the 49ers have their sights on the #2 seed. Looks as though the 49ers have beefed up the interior defensive line in anticipation of a run heavy offense by the Commanders.

#49ers inactives: * QB Jimmy Garoppolo * WR Deebo Samuel * DL Kevin Givens * DL Kerry Hyder * OL Nick Zakelj * TE Ross Dwelley * Drake Jackson

  1. Of all the ways to throw an INT. Just horrible by Jennings.

    1. Throw was a little off the mark, but yeah Jennings has to do better. Maybe he will stop dancing after every 1st down.

  2. So far, have to say, the team is playing with great energy but the attention to detail is lacking a little. Some silly mistakes creeping in.

  3. This feels more like the 49ers of the first 7 games. Plenty of effort but struggling to get off the field on D and making some silly errors to keep the opposition in the game. Sloppy.

  4. Secondary seems to be the real weak spot on this team. If the front doesn't get home, they can't seem to stop throws even from marginal QBs (although I think T.H. is actually fairly good).

  5. Not mentally sharp. Better get focused real quick. The longer they let the Commanders hang around, the more their confidence grows.

  6. Great play by Purdy/Kittle. I’m surprised at how Kittle has been such an integral part of TD receptions with Purdy, but really wasn’t with Jimmy G. Makes me wonder if Purdy sees more than Jimmy G does or perhaps he is willing to wait a bit longer.

  7. The legend grows....the Kid comes back well from Adversity to lead a flawless drive. Nice!!

  8. No 15 redeems himself with a nice block on that Kittle TD. Nice!

  9. This secondary is really bad. The 49ers aren’t going far in the playoffs if they don’t improve. Who is the secondary coach?

    1. Thanks. I know I am exaggerating about the secondary, but I think the concern is real because the team will be facing very good teams with very good QBs in the playoffs. If I'm an opposing coach, yeah, I run the ball but my focus is on passing because that is the relative weakness of this defense.
