Week 3 Matchup: San Francisco 49ers vs. Denver Broncos
Russell Wilson under pressure this season: 6/20, 30 yards, 1.5 yards per attempt - The 49ers defense has gotten pressure on 47% of opposing teams drop backs this season. They'll be without Armstead this evening but Shanny has spared no exSpence to ensure our defensive front stays fresh. Go Niners!

Keys to 9er win over Denver
ReplyDelete1) Kittle steps up with big game
2) Get Deebo and Aiyuk involved early
3) No JG int's and no turnovers by the O
4) solid pass protection by IOL and 9ers establish running game
5) D line contains Wilson and no blown assignments by D backs
* 9ers 24 and a W.......Denver 20 and a L
Running the football is how the Niners win regardless of who is at QB.
DeleteHey, are you guys watching Lamar Jackson put on a master class at GETTING DOWN & protecting himself? Very smart!
ReplyDelete49ERS 23
ReplyDeleteBroncos 16
This is an easy play, guys! Parlay: 49ers -1.5, Under 45
ReplyDeleteWatching the Bills game. Hope Lance is taking notes.
ReplyDeleteW O W! BIG UPSETS TODAY
ReplyDeleteFINAL: COLTS 20........CHIEFS 17
FINAL: DOLPHINS 21......BILLS 19
Players were dropping like flies in that Dolphins game.
DeleteDolphins up and coming team.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like another upset.....Chargers 10........Jaguars 38 with 10 seconds
ReplyDeleteleft in the game!
Who starts in Armstead place?
ReplyDeleteThey brought up Spence, plus Ridgeway and Omenihu.
Delete49ers inactives… this means that Marlon Mack is playing at RB for the 49ers:
ReplyDelete- DL Arik Armstead
- OL Daniel Brunskill
- RB Ty Davis-Price
- TE Tyler Kroft
- DL Akeem Spence
- OL Nick Zakelj
Broncos will be without their starting RT.
ReplyDeleteWonder how the O line will do on third downs without the threat of QB run. Their first test.
ReplyDeleteI will be watching how Brendal holds up against DJ Jones and Co
ReplyDeleteGoing to be hard to best the Broncos through the air.
ReplyDeleteWow Niners looked really good on that drive!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drive. OLine is playing very well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great play design on the TD.
ReplyDeleteThe big run really showed how awesome the zone scheme can be when all the guys up front hit their marks in unison. Burford and McGlinchey were excellent on that play, and Kittle did enough.
Is Womack dealing with an injury? It's been Lenoir in the slot to start the game.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question. I don't think Womack is hurt. We know Kyle has trust issues with rookies.
DeleteScooter
ReplyDeleteWas wondering the same thing? Can't find any info on a Womack injury, so it must be a Ryans decision?
Strange one. I thought he was doing ok. Must have been a few missed assignments we didn't realise.
DeleteDefense looks really good.
ReplyDeleteHere we go. Jimmy could care less to look downfield, where Deebo is wide open for a TD! This sure looks familiar. Denver made an defensive adjustment, putting an extra defender in the box, and ta-da, Jimmy Garoppolo instantly transforms into El Constricto!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness the 49ers have an elite defense, because while Jimmy's numbers will be kind of deceiving thanks to the best YAC-brother-trio in the league, Jimmy only wants to attack a small portion of field.
I am cutting some slack right now, because he didn't have a training camp, but we've seen this movie before.
The one question I hope that gets answered this year. Is Jimmy the reason why his passing chart looks like it does, or is it Kyle?
ReplyDeleteNo, you can't decline that!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously Kyle, did you forget where you are playing tonight? Give me a break!
DeleteI'm checking out
ReplyDeleteOh no. C'mon Deebo, don't be seriously injured.
ReplyDeleteSeriously guys, don't know if I do another year of this. I really don't!
ReplyDeleteFeel free to not do it here.
DeleteI literally fee like I am at my summer vacation cabin, and so I am watching an old VCR movie that I've already soon one too many times, but there's no cable TV.
DeleteI get the feeling that this is what the entire season is going to feel like. Uggh, McGlinchey!
Why does it seem like we have suddenly stopped running? Seems like Jimmy G is throwing every down. Not good.
ReplyDeleteKyle will no doubt say that is because what the Broncos looks are dictating, but as we saw last year, even when teams commit to stopping the run this team still does best when it sticks to it.
DeleteYes...Jeff Wilson Jr is averaging almost 7 yards per carry, for crying out loud!!
DeleteKyle is in his own head now. And he already gifted Denver a FG already.
DeleteLike I said, thank goodness they have an outstanding defense, because is a .500 offense! It's crazy that Kyle's DC's always seem to outperform him as a OC.
Yeah...I love Jimmy. But don't let Jimmy cook. Take the lead to halftime. We have another half of battle left!
DeletePsst, Kyle, yo .... you have kid who wears #6. USE HIM!
ReplyDeleteAnybody notice what adjustments Broncos made to their run D in the second quarter?
ReplyDeleteThey appeared to be playing fairly close to the LOS, and were quick to fire forward. But honestly, didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
DeleteThey were closing fast on the ball carrier from the sides,
DeleteSomebody is going to get hurt running this micky mouse offense. Here we go again, the only difference is that it's Kittle and Deebo fighting and scratching for every yard between the dang tackles, instead of Trey!
ReplyDeleteMy dad just sent me a cryptic text from Texas.
All the text reads is two foreign sounding words - "DE JAVU" ... what do you guys think it means?
Another day of your rants?
DeleteWell geesh, Scooter! Do you guys really enjoy this style of offense? This is such a textbook example of why nobody wants Jimmy G!
DeleteHere's the formula:
1) The Niners break a few nice runs early on
2) Denver adjusts by stacking the box with extra defenders
3) Kyle keeps running into a stacked box, because Jimmy can’t make a team pay a price for stacking the box
4) Jimmy makes a couple critical mistakes, and the 49ers can't hang on
This isn’t rocket science, guys. I get it, Jimmy is a little rusty, blah, blah, blah. But you have to be honest with yourselves …. this is the same QB, MORE OR LESS, and the same formula that we've been watching for years now!
And you guys wonder why the 49ers don't get any respect from the national media
DeleteAdjustments at halftime should get things rolling. Need a 3 and out by the defense. LFG!
ReplyDeleteIt's up to the offense to get some rhythm. Finally, a look at JP Mason.
DeleteDamn, a bad TO
ReplyDeleteDefense does its job. Need offense to come thru.
ReplyDeleteRun the ball please...we are about 25 carries short from our magic number of 40 runs per game. :)
ReplyDeleteBad to worse.
ReplyDeleteYou know a play is bad when the play would only have been worse if JG didn't step out of the end zone. To have Williams hurt too... and what were they actually trying there anyway?
DeleteGotta see the all-22 to figure what pass play was planned. Jimmy G is rusty which is understandable. Looks like he was dancing backwards while going thru his progression.
DeleteOh geesh Mood, are you really trying to act like Jimmy G, a veteran QB of 9 years, doesn't have a feel for the size of an endzone? Come on man!
Delete49ers friends Sloppy and Undisciplined have shown up.
ReplyDeleteBronco's backs seem to get past the Niners D line on most inside runs.
ReplyDeleteHeck Yeah! Run the freakin' ball
ReplyDeleteI'd rather the 49ers sucked, but were at least exciting to watch, and not this predictable, lack of discipline on defense, but still extremely stout on defense! And on the other side it's 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense, QB making boneheaded, and frankly embarrassing mistakes. Jimmy wearing his cement shoes! LAME!
ReplyDeleteMcGlinchey literally getting run over.
ReplyDeleteWhere's eMJay been tonight?
ReplyDeleteLady's and Gentleman, I present to you ... the one and only - JIMMY GAROPPOLO!
ReplyDeleteTake a bow, Jimmy!
This one's as much on the coach as it is on Jimmy. We know what Jimmy is....why all pass plays in that drive? Why not a run play in between to eat the clock?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see what Purdy can do.
ReplyDeleteI've confidence in Purdy to throw more INTs than Jimmy per game.
DeleteRookie mistakes by Purdy or Jimmy G - what's the difference?
