49ers Inactives: RB Elijah Mitchell, CB K’Waun Williams, CB Josh Norman, OL Aaron Banks, and DL Zach Kerr.
Seahawks Inactives: Dee Eskridge, Benson Mayowa, Brandon Shell, John Reid, Jamarco Jones and LJ Collier.
Might this be the game we see a little more Lance? Maybe spice up the running game some and give him some short screen passes to Deebo and friends.
Defensively, does Kocurek breakout his "chip beaters"?
So far the DL is getting it done. Three 3rd downs, two sacks and an errant throw with Kinlaw in Wilson's face.
ReplyDeleteNeed to take advantage while Seahawks offense is struggling. Cannot have JG throw momentum away again.
Man, no Gould could really bite them in this one.
ReplyDeleteI know he got right up, and has come back in, but that didn't look good for Kittle. Very worried he's playing through a serious injury.
ReplyDeleteAfter completely dominating the half, the Seahawks now level. This is why you have to turn dominance into points. Eagles know how this feels.
ReplyDeleteI like where they are though, Scooter. They get the ball, score and the Seahawks will need to do something they've yet to do this year in the second half; score more points than the opponent.
ReplyDeleteYeah... before the game I'd have been happy with that. But with the way it went, not good enough.
DeleteLooks like Brendel was in at center for Mack who has an issue with his hand. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteLance time!
ReplyDeleteOof, let's hope those first two passes are just getting the nerves out.
DeleteAnd just like that, the Seahawks are up 14. This is why you need to score while dominating a game.
ReplyDeleteCan you see Trey's gifts, Scooter? He moves like a big cat. Jaw dropping! And Can you see how quickly trey is settling in?
DeleteThe kid is SPECIAL! If Kyle had embraced this kid during training camp, this team would be in a far better place right now!
And the thing is, it was happening in training camp! Trey was on the verge of running away with the job, and then Kyle basically shut it down. Instead of embracing him, Kyle basically did the opposite, and now they are paying the price.
DeleteI am so angry with Kyle Shanahan! SOOOO angry!
DeleteThink about this. You don't think the kid is ready, but you make him the [primary backup behind the most injury prone QB in the league? WTF? How does that pass the smell test? Kyle has NO common sense!
Unfortunately, now he's basically squandered probably half of the season, because it's going to take time now to get the Trey Lance offense up and running at full speed!
Of course I can see his gifts. I was the one telling you about him predraft.
DeleteHe took awhile to settle in today. But that last TD drive was nice. Don't get carried away though (I know that is extremely difficult for you) - it came when the Seahawks were playing soft defense to protect the lead.
I am not sure this game could have followed a more appropriate script!
ReplyDeleteAnd now Kyle has Trey so nervous about making a mistake, the kid is playing scared!
What a shame!
I am calling for Head Coaching malpractice at this stage!
DeleteAnd if Rich Scangerello isn't fired by tomorrow, I am going to lose my mind!
If Kyle had just embraced this kid from the get go, this team would be in a different place right now. What a shame!
DeleteYou want Lynch to fire Shanny and hire Bieniemy?
DeleteI'd be open to that, Razor. I wish Kyle could go back to just being the OC, but that's probably impossible at this stage.
DeleteAt least Trey Lance really settled in and showed his immense skill set.
DeleteBut young, inexperienced players like Trey, they have to believe that their Head Coach has their back, 100%. They have to believe that they are going to be allowed to make rookie mistakes, as long as they learn from those mistakes, and don't keep repeating them.
Imagine if Kyle had embraced this kid when Trey was on the verge of running away with the job in training camp … because Trey absolutely was running away with it, before Kyle basically hit the brakes, and shut it down. Now it’s going to take a while to get the Trey Lance offense up and running at full speed. It's a different offense, which is what I've been telling you guys.
Eventually Trey is going to be able to run anything, but while he’s a young, developing player, you have to design a specific system that makes it easier on him, and takes advantage of his incredible skill set! I thought that was the plan because Kyle's done it before, with great results. But something changed, and as a result, the offense came into the season disjointed.
Man...how does your kicker injure himself during warmups? SMH....only on this team! We are cursed!
ReplyDeleteSucks!
DeleteThe better question is, how does Kyle not have a better backup plan for kicking extra points at least? And if you can't kick extra points, then always go for 2 point conversion.
DeleteAgain, it comes down to mismanagement. There is no forethought with Kyle. No planning ahead correctly. EVER!
Kyle simply cannot see the forest past the trees!
DeleteRAZOR, Kyle just basically insinuated that Trey Lance was part of the problem today!
DeleteHow do you feel about that?
Kyle is a master deflecter!
DeleteWhen you don't score points while dominating a half, and your STs give up a turnover, results like this happen. Very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely right, Scooter. You can't let a QB like Russ hang around, because he'll find a way, just like Aaron Rodgers will find a way.
DeleteAlthough Green Bay is a much better team than Seattle.
Jimmy, he's just .... I mean, I do feel bad for the guy. There's just something missing about his game, and sometimes it's hard to explain, but you know it exists. Right. You know his limitations because you've seen it, time and time again.
Even Jimmy's TD pass today to Dwelly was a dead duck.
DeleteScooter, Kyle just basically insinuated that Trey Lance was part of the problem today!
DeleteHow do you feel about that?
OK, now I am fighting mad!
DeleteKyle needs to go!
DeleteAnd how is it that Kyle hasn't already told Dee Ford that, if he lines up offsides again, he's getting benched? Inexcusable!
ReplyDeletePart of Kyle's problem is a lack of leadership, IMO. I'm just being honest.
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe the worst part .... Kyle totally throws Trey Lance under the bus during the postgame presser. WOW! Kyle just insulted the kid, can you believe it?
ReplyDeleteI am officially done with Kyle. IF Jed isn't careful, Kyle's going to ruin this kid!
ReplyDeleteIf Trey's as fragile as you seem to think he is, he has no business in the NFL.
DeleteInteresting that even before JG has an MRI tomorrow that he's already saying he may miss a couple of games.
ReplyDeleteThat is very unfortunate for him. But, it could work in Trey' favor if he has a good game against Arizona next Sunday. Lance will practice with the first team all week in preparation for the Cards.
On a different note. I am having some issues with Shanahan' play calling of late.
1. The jet sweep with two yards for a first down was a disaster.
2. The pass back to Jimmy from RB Patrick was a terrible call. Can someone please tell me why a recently signed RB is asked to make a trick play?
Seattle owns us, and will continue to own us until R. Wilson retires.
How frustrating.
