Official Contract Details for Jon Feliciano: 1 Yr, $2.75M, $940K signing bonus, salary $1.21M (gtd), per
@AaronWilson_NFL
The #49ers will forfeit their original fifth-round selection in the 2025 Draft and will have their 2024 fourth-round selection (#131) move to the end of the fourth round, behind the compensatory picks (#135).
This action resulted from a league review that found administrative payroll accounting errors at the close of the 2022 league year that resulted in a misreporting of the club’s cumulative player compensation. The NFL determined that the club would have remained under the salary cap at all times regardless of the error and there was no intent to circumvent the cap.
The #49ers signed offensive lineman Brandon Parker to a one-year contract. Parker appeared in 59 regular-season games with 33 starts for the Raiders since 2018.
Continuing to build out the roster ahead of the draft to maximise flexibility.
ReplyDeleteLosing the 5th round pick sucks.
49ers sign Josh Dobbs as their #2 QB. He will cost a little over 3 mill on the cap. Good signing.
ReplyDeleteI liked what he showed when he played us and would like to see what he can do in our offense.
DeleteDobbs got figured out real quick.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the 49ers will still draft a QB on day three.
DeleteMy first post free agency (mostly) mock draft
ReplyDeleteRd1 Jackson Powers Johnson OG Ore
Rd2 Edgerrin Cooper LB Tex AM
Rd3 Kiran Amegadjie OT Yale
Rd4 Khyree Jackson CB Ore
Rd4 Beau Brade S Mary
Rd4 Luke McCaffery WR/PR/KR Rice
Rd5 Dillon Johnson RB Wash
Rd6 Tip Reimen TE ILL
Rd6 Jordan Jefferson DT LSU
Rd7 Eric Watts DE U Conn
Coach,
ReplyDeleteStrong 24 Mock. Especially like JP Johnson, Cooper. Amegadjie,
McCaffery and my personal favorite, Tip Rieman. Not to familiar with the other names, but I'll check them out.
Coach/Razor,
ReplyDeleteTwo questions.
1. How do you guys about QB, Austin Reed?
2. Do you guys see him as a day 3 draft pick?
He doesn't seem to have the NLF desirable measurement, but has/was been productive in college.
AES,
DeleteReed completed less than 60% of his passes even though 30% of his passes were thrown behind the line of scrimmage. I may have seen him play a couple of times but really don't remember him.
I like Paraag Marathe. Smart guy with the numbers, but this loss of draft pick is on him. Needs to be held accountable.
ReplyDeleteI wish the NFL took away our 3rd pick and gave us back the 5th. We suck at drafting the 3rd and are golden in the 5th. :p
As well as losing next years 5th it looks like they won't be getting a 3rd round compensatory pick for Chase Young. I don't think a 13 mill contract gets a team a 3rd more likely a 4th or 5th depending on playing time. They won't be getting their usual haul of compensatory picks next year maybe a couple of 6th or 7th round picks.
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't think Parker is any certainty to make the roster, he's another signing of a player they brought in for a visit during his draft year. Just goes to show that just because they don't end up drafting those players doesn't mean they don't have genuine interest.
ReplyDeleteCertainly sounds like there is a lot of interest in Aiyuk.
ReplyDeleteAgents working overtime. I don't see a team willing to give up what it would take to get him.
DeleteIf they move anyone I would rather it be Deebo. They already have his replacement on the roster. CMC could step in and do everything Deebo does. They would need Mitchell and Mason to step in and take about 10 to 15 carries. They could slide CMC into the back field and have Jennings play WR. I think it would lengthen CMC's career by running him between the tackles less. It would create much needed cap space and get back maybe a 1st and 2nd in the 25 draft. imho
DeleteOC, I think the plan will be to move Deebo next year, not this year.
DeleteOnly reason for trading Aiyuk is if they think the value he brings to the team is less than the cost of extending him. Everything we're hearing suggests they believe he is worth it. So I highly doubt either guy gets moved this year.
Scooter,
DeleteThere is one other reason they might trade BA that is if he forces their hand. It really seems like he would like to be elsewhere next season.
Good point OC. He may well want to prove himself in a more high volume passing attack.
DeleteCoach,
ReplyDeleteTwo Deebo's are better than one, if in fact CMC can do the same things. But if the 49ers decide to trade Deebo, what do you feel would be return value?
AES,
DeleteTheres always players but you can't even guess until you know the team. So draft picks are the most likely trade chips. I think they have plenty of picks this year but next year they could end up with less than 7. Next years picks don't have the value of this years picks so they might score a good bunch of picks. Maybe a 1st and a 2nd or maybe a 1st, 3rd and a 5th.
I would go with your second scenario, Coach. There should be good talent available in the 3rd rd, and the 49ers have a penchant for finding under the radar players in the 5th rd.
ReplyDeleteAn under the radar player that caught my attention, is former Utah DE Jonah Elliss. Not typical DE size at 6' 2" 245lbs, but is fast enough and very instinctive. He could be available on day three.
ReplyDeleteHow is his GTFO?
DeletePlease explain. The only GTFO that I know of, isn't very nice, 🫢
ReplyDeleteHeh, yeah, sorry AES, without context that doesn't look great!
DeleteLynch, Peters and Ahmed all talked up the importance that Kocurek places on "GTFO" after they drafted Beal last year. So now when I see a DL mocked or talked about for the 49ers that's the first thing I look for.
No worries. I had never heard Kocurek make that statement, so that was on me. I hope you get some time to check out Jonah Elliss. I see him as one of those 49ers late rd surprises.
DeleteAES,
ReplyDeleteKris Koceruk acronym for get off or 10 yard split for D lineman is get the f*** off or GTFO
Thanks. I don't know much about Elliss except for what I've on YouTube. He seems to have a good "get-off."
ReplyDeleteEvery day there are more BA trade rumors. If they do trade him I hope they get more than just a 1st round pick. Even if it includes future years picks.
ReplyDeleteYeah, getting just one 1st round pick is too little imo. I doubt they trade him though. I suspect there will be a lot of posturing from Aiyuk's camp, but in the end it will come down to money and the 49ers will probably pay what they have to to keep him.
DeleteCoach/Scooter,
DeleteI would keep Aiyuk and trade Deebo if one of them had to go. Aiyuk is younger and has shown that could stay on the field more than Deebo. Aiyuk's numbers have increased each of the last two years and he's a bit younger than Deebo as well. I believe Deebo can garner a 20-25 pick of the 1st rd.
