Brock Purdy’s teammate in college, Xavier Hutchinson, was asked if Brock is a Top-10 QB in the NFL:
ReplyDelete“Yeah, I don’t see why not. You have to prove it every single season, every single game, and that’s exactly what he’s done. I’m super excited for him cause I don’t even think this is the best that we’ve seen of him.”
I have no doubt Mike Evans gives Purdy a target he's never had before, but IMO, Evans biggest contribution to the 9ers offense will be how he
ReplyDeleteopens up the field for the other receivers as follows:
* By creates Soft Zones for Slot Receivers: Evans' ability to threaten defenses deep naturally draws extra defensive attention. This reduces double-teams and creates softer coverage zones for players operating in the slot or intermediate passing game.
* Relieves Pressure on Kittle & CMC, because Evans is an established, physical pass-catcher, defenses can no longer heavily key in on star TE Kittle and RB CMC, giving the entire receiving unit more breathing room
* Elite Red-Zone Spacing, Evans ranks among the NFL's top receivers in red-zone TD's. His height and contested-catch ability command double coverage inside the 10-yard line, leaves one-on-one matchups for San Francisco's other offensive weapons.
* Evens serves as a proven, physical "alpha" presence in the locker room. Younger wide receivers like Pearsall, De'Zhaun Stribling, and Jacob Cowing benefit daily from observing his practice habits, route-running, and elite work ethic.
Alaska was incredible. I saw my first wolf, a tundra giant standing at least 36 inches high and stretching about 8 feet long, and I’ve gained a new respect for the animal. There were a couple of brown bears, plenty of black bears, and two foxes—one carrying a rabbit in its mouth. I spotted lots of moose, including my first male, along with caribou, a bald eagle, and a red-tailed hawk, among others. The Arctic Circle was amazing—surprisingly the warmest place in Alaska during summer. Denali was as spectacular as ever. The Kenai Peninsula was wet and dreary but still beautiful. Valdez marked the end of the pipeline, while Whittier could only be reached by driving through a train tunnel or arriving by ship. The Dalton Highway was 500 miles of pure hell, full of bumps and potholes, but I loved every bit of it. I travel without restaurants or motels—it’s the only way I can afford it. And for the record, all grizzlies are brown bears, but not all brown bears are grizzlies. The moose has four enemies: bear, wolf, cougar, and orca whale.
