Purdy's pocket presence coupled with his elite reactionary quickness are two of his attributes that put him over quarterbacks like Joe Burrow for me.

Nope, it's not a misprint. After trading up to the #3 pick from #12, the 49ers have put themselves in a position to select their franch...

If Purdy does not help the 49ers win a Superbowl during his 49er career. Imho, I would put him behind YA Tittle, John Brodie and slightly a head of Jeff Garcia because BP played in a Super Bowl. But, on stats alone, the above players had great career stats.
ReplyDeleteIf Purdy wins a SB, he moves up to 3rd place behind Joe Montana and Steve Young.
Didn't Purdy leave the defense with the lead in his SB?
DeleteTittle is in the HOF, Brodie belongs in the HOF while BP is not yet a HOF QB but he has plenty of time to get there.
DeleteAgree. How do you rate the 49ers top QBs, Coach?
Delete#1 Montana, #2 Young, #3 Tittle, #4 Brodie, Tie for 5/6 Purdy and Garcia #7 A. Smith #8 Kaep (if you judge him over only 2 seasons he moves ahead of Garcia and Purdy) #9 Jimmy G oh and I forgot Frankie Albert judging from old film and my Dad's and Uncles opinions he likely belongs at 4 or 5
DeleteMaybe my memory is off, but I can only remember Purdy only playing in 1 SB. The 49ers are 0-3 in their last three Superbowl's with Kap, Jimmy G, and Purdy at the helm.
ReplyDeletePurdy can still win a SB, but as I said last night, that puts him in 3rd place of the all-time 49ers QB list, imho. He's young enough to win 2-3 SBs which would place him behind the legendary Joe Montana.
I am shocked that Stafford is the 5th best QB in the NFL at avoiding sacks when pressured.
ReplyDeleteHe's sneaky.
