#1 in adjusted line yards and also #3 in adjusted sack rate. The Browns defensive line is a tough nut to crack and will be Foerster's offensive line's biggest challenge this year. They're coming off their best cohesive performance. San Francisco leads the league in lowest sack EPA lost attributed to quarterback fault. Niners offense has been very good in the redzone recently - tied with Jacksonville for the highest percentage of drives reaching the red zone, and ranking 3rd in TD rate once inside.
Offensively the Browns rank 31st and dead last in passing efficiency. San Francisco's defense ranks 26th against the pass and 12th against the run. They better bring their lunchboxes because Judkins is a load. He's got 7 TD's and averaging 3.8 yards per carry. If they can take away the run and force Sanders to beat them it's likely they'll get at least one turnover. I expect Shanahan to come out running the football a lot in this weather with BRob getting 10 runs on top of CMC's normal workload. I like San Francisco in this game in a low scoring affair, 17-10. Go Niners!
49ers Inactives:

It's got all the symptoms of a low scoring game. 17-3 Niners.
ReplyDeleteBrowns own the 2nd best run defense and stuff rate.

DeleteIf it's me, I would run the ball right at Garrett. I would also attack the area wear Garrett vacates. Our defense has to play good football in order to do all that.
DeleteWind is the real enemy today for both qbs.
ReplyDeleteWould prefer to see some RPO's and limit Brock's throws into a congested middle if the wind is up ...... hoping BRob can get 12-15 carries- would also like to see some 5-man fronts to squash Judkins and force Sanders to beat them
ReplyDeleteAfter special teams being terrible last to being our best unit this year. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteNiners still have difficult time tackling.
ReplyDeleteA TO either way is going to decide this game
ReplyDeleteTackling is nothing short of embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteIf we can’t stop the run this could get bad.
ReplyDeleteWho looked better in the first half? Sanders or Purdy.
ReplyDeleteThey are going against different defenses.
DeleteFelix, Brock just beat the number 2 defense at their house in high winds.
DeleteOne of the worst offenses and the Niners can't stop them.
ReplyDeleteMan I loved Schwesinger coming out.
ReplyDeleteI was just going to mention Schwesinger myself. He sure would have been a great pick for the 49ers.
ReplyDeleteIf the 49ers lose this game it's going to be because of their horrendous tackling.
ReplyDeleteI don't care what anyone says on that last Purdy run he looked injured he was moving like a man with foot pain
ReplyDeleteI don't know OldCoach, he looked strong on that TD run.
DeleteStill think that?

ReplyDeleteWith 1:29 left in the 3rd the 9ers score a big TD. (9er 17 Browns 8)
ReplyDeleteGreat call. Great ball fake. Not much more than a walk in
ReplyDelete49ers are doing the most important thing in tough conditions - getting TDs when presented the opportunity and not having to settle for 3.
ReplyDeleteFor Gods sakes get CMC out of there
ReplyDeleteExcellent game from Special teams and from Offense.
ReplyDeleteIcing on the cake will be Rams losing to Panthers. Fingers crossed!
Well look at that, 49ers are now only a half game back from both the NFC West and NFC leaders.
ReplyDeleteGlorious weekend for football going into our bye! Purdy 3-4 in bad weather dispelling the myth perpetuated by some.
DeleteI can't speak for some but when I talked about weather I meant a wet ball. Todays conditions (wind and cold) certainly made things difficult but he had a dry ball.
DeleteOldCoach, you can keep moving the goal post all you want. WIND has been and always will be a qb's worst element to play in. You can ask any one of them if you don't believe me.
DeleteYou're right Razor. But wind has nothing to do with gripping the ball. Wind and a wet ball are two totally different elements. Purdy has shown that a wet ball can be an issue.
DeleteAES,
DeleteI agree that was my point also. I have never noticed that BP has had problems in windy conditions but I do believe that he has problems gripping the ball when it is wet.
AES, as it can with any qb in the league.
DeleteWell, we can deflect all we want. But my concern is always about the 49ers, not so much other QBs.
DeleteBut, this could be an argument for another day. Purdy did a good job today and the 49ers are going into the bye with a great win. Hopefully, the team gets healthier during this time.
DeleteHere are the facts: Purdy 3-4 in bad weather.
DeleteThat includes RAIN.
DeleteYup, not bad. But not good either, imho.
Delete3 wins 3 losses my bad.
DeleteStafford 1-9 in bad weather games.
Did some of those 9 loses in bad weather happen during his time with the Lions?
DeleteLMAO
DeleteIt's a fair question.
DeleteCarolina Panthers beat the Rams today. Panthers 31 Rams 28
ReplyDeleteMatthew Stafford sets record for most TDs without an interception, then immediately throws 2 interceptions.
One was returned for a tuddie.
DeleteYup
DeleteAnd I have to admit, I ENJOY WATCHING THE RAMS LOSE....
DeleteI admit it also. Lol
DeleteNext week, Bears and Packers, I will be rooting for the Bears to win that one.
ReplyDeleteIf the Niners tie with the Rams for division tittle, is the tie breaker broken first by division record?
ReplyDeleteThen it's simple if Niners win out and Hawks beat Rams, Niners are division champs.
DeleteThe 9ers have a chance to win a game fans thought they'd lose. Colts QB Daniel Jones has a broken fibula, and he's playing through the injury. Since breaking his fibula, the Colts have lost their last 2 games, losing to KC and Texans. The Colts play Seattle Dec 14th and the 9ers on Dec 22nd. With luck, the colts will beat the Seattle and be tied with the 9ers.for 2nd place in the division.
DeleteAfter beating the Browns the 9ers are 9W - 4L. Next week is a bye. Coming off the byt, the 9ers play the Titans, with a record of 1W - 9L, puting the 9ers at 10W - 4L. A win VS the Colts the following week and the 9ers would be 11W - 4L and a spot in the playoffs.
After the Colts game on Dec 22, the 9ers play 2 home games against the Bears and Seattle, to close out the season.
Seattle is tied with the Bears and Rams at 9W - 3L, and the best
records in the NFL
What an invigorating win!
ReplyDeleteBrock Purdy leads the NFL in pressure-to-sack ratio. Is that good?
ReplyDeleteThe Browns, who entered with 42 seconds (#2 in NFL), managed just one sack against Purdy today.
26 points is the highest point total the Browns defense has allowed at home all season.
ReplyDeleteBoyer took the worst special teams unit and turned it into the best in the league!👏🏻
ReplyDeleteIt's an amazing turnaround.
DeleteKyle Shanahan was asked recently about taking the ball first. His response:
ReplyDelete“I usually side with the analytics of what gives you the best percentage to have the most possessions. If we got really worried about the other team scoring first and we thought being down 3-0, 7-0 was the biggest difference, then I would choose to have the ball. I don't think really in any absolutes, but, it is hard to convince me that the best chance to win is the best percentage of having the ball the most.”
49ers are converting 79% of their red zone drives into touchdowns in November. Is that good?
ReplyDelete30 mph winds, 10 degrees and Brock Purdy leads the 49ers to their first win in Cleveland in 40 years!! What a game Brock!🔥
ReplyDeleteIt was a great win against a top defense in bad weather. Not taking anything away from Purdy.
DeleteHmmm, you sound like a 9er fan? lol
ReplyDeleteI thought it was one of Purdy’s better games considering the conditions and the great defense he was up against. i think he’s poised to finish the year strong.
DeleteFelix, that dime to Kittle with 30 sec left in the half into 40 mph winds to get a field goal was brilliant!
DeleteSure was. His pass in the red zone to Kittle while getting lit up which set up one of the TDs was also excellent.
Delete
